The Mental Health Recovery Pathway (MHRP) service provides day service opportunities for people with low and medium Preventative Care Needs.

We are currently looking to offer volunteering placements with our Mental Health Recovery Pathway (MHRP) – a mental health provision based across three sites in Islington responding to the mental health needs of Islington residents.

You will be assisting service users who experience mental distress in group settings.

We ask for a commitment of at least 1 day a week 10:15am – 4:00pm for a full year (+ about 2-3 months for DBS check and induction), though there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer more than one day a week.

About us

The Maudsley Hospital in Camberwell first opened in 1915, initially as a military hospital and then in 1923 as a psychiatric hospital. The hospital is home to both inpatient and outpatient services for children and adults. We provide more than 240 services to people in our local communities as well as being the UK's leading provider of national and specialist services.

About the role

We run a Clothes Bank for service users who are on the wards and may not have access to multiple items of clothing. The Clothes Bank currently relies on donations from staff at the Trust, and volunteers who sort the donated stock and bring it to service users on the wards. For this project, we need 2-4 volunteers who can commit each week on Wednesdays to help with this.

The role involves going up to the wards, speaking to ward staff to ask what items of clothing their service users need this week, and returning to the Community Link Centre where the donated clothes are kept and sorting the stock. This involves good organisational skills and teamworking ability, as you'll be working with other volunteers to make this happen. It's a really fun way to do a lot of good in a few hours, meet likeminded people and develop some new skills.

About you

This is an ideal role for anybody interested in building skills in administration, communication, organisation, and teamwork, and for anyone interested in fashion, sustainability, and mental health. There is a lot of scope for the volunteer to shape the future of the clothes bank and bring new ideas to improve its efficiency and drive donations, as well as potentially offer a more bespoke dressing service. Ultimately, if you believe in the power clothes can have in helping one feel their best, this role could be for you.

Key details

This role is available on Wednesdays between 9:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm. The expected commitment is 2-3 hours a week, for a minimum of 9 months. This role is suitable for volunteers who are 18 years or older. People with lived experience of mental health conditions are encouraged to apply.

At CPRE, we’re passionate about making the countryside a better place for everyone to enjoy. This flexible, micro-volunteering role is a great way to stand up for the countryside if you don’t have much time to spare! Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing Group providing supported living accommodation for young women in recovery and receiving support with drug and alcohol issues.

A confident and well-experienced music teacher, who will support young women to develop their musical abilities, and positively encourage creative expression to help young women channel their feelings into music.

• Providing musical instrument lessons to students encompassing both theoretical and practical education.
• Developing and delivering individual session plans and documented session outcomes in order to assist each student’s personal growth
• Supporting the creativity and self-expression of the students
• Working collaboratively with other staff at Amy’s Place in order to provide the best support for each individual student
• Offering a range of skills such as; songwriting, improvisation, song interpretation for covers.

Support 

•  Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training.
•  Volunteers have a named supervisor providing day-to-day support and encouragement.
• Reasonable travel and will be reimbursed.

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on your availability and the needs of service users.  It might be every week or fortnight, 3 to 4 hours, ideally for a minimum of 3 months.

Every day, neurodivergent people in the legal profession face misunderstanding, outdated assumptions, and well-meaning but misguided "support." We're building something different - a charity that gets the science right, speaks with authority, and creates change based on evidence rather than good intentions.

We need someone who understands what neurodiversity really is - professionally, academically, maybe personally, to be our compass and our credibility.

What we're looking for

We need a neurodiversity specialist who can be our knowledge foundation - someone whose expertise ensures everything we do is grounded in current understanding and best practice.

Your background might include:

• Professional expertise in neurodivergence through psychology, neuroscience, education, occupational therapy, or related fields

• Deep knowledge of current research and evidence base around neurodivergence

• Understanding of the real challenges neurodivergent people face in professional environments

• The ability to translate complex concepts into language that lawyers (and everyone else) can understand

• Genuine commitment to making the legal profession work better for neurodivergent people

What would be brilliant (but not essential):

• Hands-on experience working with or advocating for neurodivergent individuals

• Academic qualifications or research experience in relevant areas

• Knowledge of workplace adjustments and inclusive employment practices

• Understanding of career progression challenges in professional settings

• Experience in education, training, or public awareness work

• Personal lived experience of neurodivergence (valued but not required)

The need-to-know

Time commitment: Around 4-8 hours per month - one monthly trustee meeting plus the specialist input that makes the difference, and the occasional extra task that crops up. 

Term: We're looking for a minimum 2-year commitment initially, which then becomes a rolling 1-year term subject to the constitutional requirements. 

When we meet: We will be setting our meeting dates at the start of the organisation's year (October 2025) so everyone can plan ahead.

What will you be doing?

EcoCounts is a group of volunteers working together to embody EcoCore’s approach to the climate crisis. EcoCore covers a lot of ground because the climate and biodiversity crisis is so all-encompassing, which means we have a lot of varied and different volunteer tasks available, ranging from carbon footprint data collection, setting up sub-teams of friends or colleagues or doing social media or running workshops. 

Your responsibilities would be to create volunteer tasks from our work streams, which would include things like: 

• creating a role description for each volunteer task to give a good outline of everything required and expected

• keeping track of what volunteers are active on

• encouraging and inspiring volunteers to deliver on commitments

• creating an incentives or rewards framework for volunteers, potentially working with supporting businesses to agree on gift vouchers, tokens etc

• managing a small budget

• building up a social network with events, collaborations and other inputs

• using our social media accounts to advertise, to celebrate achievements etc

• help other directors, trustees & secretary keep reporting, stats, and feedback on activities up-to-date

Goals

1. Our 2025 target is 100 people doing their carbon footprints

2. We’re looking for 20 coordinators

3. We have about a dozen volunteering roles to fill beyond the two above

What are we looking for?

1. You should be a people-person with experience of managing people. You should be happy to put in the time and effort communicating with the volunteers both all-together and individually in a way that gets the best results from them.

2. Personal change is only one of the five ways that we can change society - we don't focus on personal change alone, we want to change our community, our local businesses and our local government.

What difference will you make?

Society has got itself into a dangerous situation with the climate crisis and EcoCounts aims to create a way out. We need all sorts of different people, not just climate nerds and sustainability fanatics, although of course that doesn't hurt. The person we need right now is someone who knows what people need to keep them happy and effective as a volunteer for us.

Being a volunteer-based organisation at this stage still, that might make the volunteer chief of staff the most important person we have. Of course we all consider each other equal. Being small and dynamic means EcoCounts can offer the flexibility for you to do an excellent and fulfilling job.
