As an Operations Manager within the Windsor & Maidenhead service, you will be responsible for providing a good quality and safe service to the people we support. Our staff are vital to delivering quality services and this role will include direct line management of Key Workers. You will also ensure the safe and effective day to day running of the service, and will support the Service Manager to ensure the service delivers against performance outcomes.

You will have an in depth understanding of substance use, harm reduction and treatment modalities, as well as experience of managing people. The most important thing you’ll bring to this role is your desire and ability to support staff, and make a positive difference to people’s lives.

You will have good Microsoft Office skills and be able to manage your own diary efficiently and proactively. You will have integrity, enthusiasm, and a passion to make a difference.

The Hospital Discharge Community Support Coordinator will match Age UK Lambeth (AUKL) volunteers and partner organisation volunteers to support a patient's discharge. Volunteers could provide support with transport, practical support such as food shopping or completing home safety checks. Upon discharge volunteers may continue supporting patients for up to 4 weeks, providing support in person (at the individual's home or in the community) and over the phone, linking them into support services and helping them access the community to prevent hospital readmission.

1. Oversee the development of a new, inclusive volunteer programme that offers a range of diverse and challenging volunteer roles to support patients leaving hospital and once settled home. 

2. Work in partnership with the VCS to create 100 volunteering opportunities to support hospital discharge.

3. Using the volunteer platform, Care for Me, track allocated tasks to ensure they’re completed. Monitor volunteer reports to review the support and work delivered under the project.

4. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital to ensure appropriate referrals are made into the service.

Project Background

Come and join our award-winning place-based volunteering programme that works with residents living across Hackney and the City of London.

You will be based out in the community - the programme is based at GP practices - to engage, support and enable local residents and patients to deliver local services for themselves, to meet local needs. We support residents to come together, to share their skills and experience for the benefit of each other, to deliver local groups and activities such as a book group, film club, exercise classes or cooking group. Residents from diverse backgrounds and demographics attend these activities together and make new connections, building strong local communities, all working together to make their area a better place to live. You will also be supporting people to improve their mental and physical health through signposting them to appropriate services and encouraging them to talk to their GP if they have concerns; and will be working in partnership with GP practice staff to co-create volunteer roles to make the practice more efficient and a better place to visit.

The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for all residents experiencing emotional distress. The café is weekdays during the evening and at weekends in the afternoon. • Make sure all individual, community and legacy gifts are recorded correctly on our CRM and thanked within a timely manner. Look for new ways to thank donors in a way that surprises and delights.
• Develop and implement personalised stewardship plans for donors and legacy pledgers to provide regular updates that demonstrate their impact or help to build engagement ahead of a fundraising appeal.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to communicate with one-off donors about how they can set up a regular gift, and to regular givers about how they can increase their gift.
• Provide support on the production of fundraising appeals, identifying potential stories to use, writing briefs and liaising with suppliers, producing mailing lists and analysing results.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement marketing plans for challenge events, community, in memory and legacy fundraising, planning regular content throughout the year and identifying key times to promote specific activity.
• Look for opportunities to incorporate legacy messaging into other communications with donors, volunteers and older people.
• Support on the development of new KPI and reporting frameworks, and help to update results for post-campaign and ad-hoc data analysis projects.
• Keep up to date with developments in direct marketing and fundraising practise. Comply with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice and charity/fundraising law at all times.

 
You may be required to undertake other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post. There may be occasional out of hours work required.

• Interest / experience in providing a great experience for donors or customers.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to convey our key messages succinctly and effectively, taking an emotive storytelling approach to demonstrate the impact and outcomes of our work, and ensuring all materials follow Re-engage’s brand guidelines.
• The ability to work on own initiative, be disciplined, enabling the prioritisation of work, particularly under pressure, in order to meet deadlines.
• Computer literate with word processing skills and familiarity with the use of databases and spreadsheets – word, excel and internet.
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team context, supporting colleagues and working independently when necessary.

• Experience of using a CRM based on the Microsoft Dynamics platform.
