The Operations Manager is a senior leadership role with Home-Start Wandsworth, responsible for overseeing the operational effectiveness of the organisation.  They will work closely with the Managing Director, and other members of the leadership team, to ensure the success and long term sustainability of the charity.

The role oversees the operational functions of the charity including HR, IT and Finance, as well as support of service development projects.  The role also requires project management of grant applications, delivery and reporting, and plays a pivotal role in shaping how we measure, communicate and enhance the impact of our work.  This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

To work collaboratively with the Managing Director and other senior leaders to

● deliver the objectives of the organisation.

● develop our services & ways of working to ensure the charity’s long term sustainability.

● engage and motivate the team to work efficiently and effectively - according to the strategy policies and commitments we have signed up to.

● work closely with the Family Support Manager, to ensure our data needs are aligned with our Impact Measurements.

● contribute to strategic planning and collaborate with external advisors on specialist projects as required.

Operations

● Oversee the implementation and development of operational policies and procedures, including GDPR, HR, Finance and IT.

● Ensure the systems, processes and policies the team are using are understood and working effectively and that ways of working are compliant with all current policies, or recommend changes as relevant.

● Manage the operations and ensure efficient use of resources.

● Manage the budget, reconciliation and year end accounting processes.

● Lead on operational projects and oversee office administration, tech support and premises management.

● Lead on Quality Assurance requirements related to operational delivery.

● Manage data collection and evaluation across multiple platforms including charity log.

● Produce tailored reports and insights for funders, Trustees and partners.

● Manage outsourced contracts.

Organisational Development

● Lead on service development projects to support agreed strategies, priorities and commitments, working with other members of the team as relevant.

● Explore/recommend other service developments that would benefit the organisation by engagement with other Home-starts and relevant organisations.

Grant Management

● Work closely with the Managing Director and Fundraising function to project manage grant and trust applications, deadlines and progress reports.

● To ensure effective monitoring of all grant & trust commitments & deliverables, liaising with other members of the team as appropriate.

● Deliver a regular report to the Board on performance against grants and trusts.

Team Management

● Provide direction to the Business Support Administrator to enable effective and efficient running of the organisation.

● Manage staff and freelancers according to the Home-Start Wandsworth procedures, policies and values.

● Support effective management of any non home visiting Volunteers supporting the organisation’s work.

We are looking for a candidate with strong budget oversight and organisational skills to join our small team and be our lead for Camden's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, a national programme funded by the Department for Education. With the support of YCF's Head of Partnerships & Grants and CEO, you will oversee and manage a significant budget, and all project management aspects of the programme, to ensure excellent, high-quality provision for Camden's Free School Meal eligible children and young people. 

In August 2025, the programme was extended nationally by the DfE for an additional three years, and we await confirmation as to the exact allocation for Camden, which would hopefully enable us to extend this role to a three year contract to 2029. 

About the HAF programme in Camden and this role

Young Camden Foundation has been Camden Council’s delivery partner for the national, Department for Education funded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme since its inception in 2021. The programme distributes around £800,000 per year to support Free School Meal eligible children and young people in the borough across the main holidays of Spring, Summer and Winter.

You will lead all project management, from budget stewardship to overseeing programme delivery, with the support of the team. You will oversee a complex budget of around £800,000 ensuring its effective use throughout the year. You will ensure that each HAF programme in Camden offers young participants a diverse and enjoyable range of activities provided by respected organisations, operating at the highest levels of safety, quality, and in alignment with the Department for Education’s funding requirements. You will lead on all reporting, data processing, overseeing of invoicing, and communications of the programme.

Summary of the role:

The Income Generation Support Officer will provide day-to-day administrative departmental support and support to the department Director to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. This role will focus on generating reports, tracking progress, and ensuring all the necessary processes relating to compliance, finance and HR are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

About the Role:

1. Maintain and improve departmental filing systems to achieve maximum efficiency.
2. Prepare purchase orders and document payments according to Muslim Aid’s financial procedure and in conjunction with the Finance team to ensure speedy payment of invoices for internal / external stakeholders.
3. Undertake small-scale project work including researching, analysing and recommending next steps.
4. Provide support to the IGM management team in responding to correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required.
5. Track Managers delivery of action points to ensure timeframes and outcomes are met, escalating to Head or Director of IGM for further action as appropriate.
6. Undertake full inbox and extensive diary management, ensuring an effective use of time and preparation of information in advance. Sort, redirect and action emails and review an effective ‘bring up’ system to brief and prepare the Director Income Generation and Marketing for meetings / events.

Supporting the event owner in the successful planning and execution of all events across the charity, including the Families, Supporter and Operations Teams at Scotty's. The role

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator.

As the IT System Administrator, you will be responsible for the development, administration and optimisation of Cruse’s Microsoft 365 environment and wider IT cloud infrastructure.

Working closely with the Head of IT, and the wider Digital Services team of 5 staff, you will ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with the needs of our staff and volunteers.

Cruse operates a cloud IT infrastructure providing IT services to staff and volunteers based across the UK and Northern Ireland. Microsoft 365 is the main IT service, but there will also be other IT systems you will need to become familiar with in this role.

Cruse makes use of a managed services IT support provider and numerous application and service provider support teams; you will be required to work with these teams making sure our issues are resolved quickly and with minimum disruption.

As part of your role, you will be involved in BAU and project work and be comfortable with competing priorities and pressures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to advance their technical skills and experience. Where they will have input into the development of the IT systems, working with an experienced and dedicated Head of IT and digital team, for a charity that is investing in its digital strategy and services.

Auditory Verbal UK (AVUK) is an award-winning charity that wants all deaf children to have the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers.  It supports deaf babies and children to learn to listen and speak with Auditory Verbal therapy and provides internationally accredited training in Auditory Verbal practice for health and education professionals.  AVUK works to raise expectations and outcomes for deaf children and increase access to, as well as awareness and understanding of, Auditory Verbal therapy, with a clear mission to enable every family with a deaf child the opportunity to access Auditory Verbal therapy through publicly funded services close to where they live.

Overview

Working with the Head of Fundraising, you will play a key role in securing income from corporate partners and major donors to support AVUK’s bold 10-year plan. These partnerships are central to our long-term strategy to transform the landscape of Auditory Verbal provision, ensuring that every family who wants their child to learn to listen and talk can access a publicly funded Auditory Verbal programme in their local area.

This role requires experience in relationship fundraising, ideally working with businesses and/or major donors, and a strong ability to build rapport and trust. You’ll be an effective communicator and collaborator, confident in supporting income generation activities that align and elevate AVUK’s goals.

With experience of securing five to six-figure gifts, you’ll use your commercial acumen to identify and nurture your pipeline and partnerships, contributing to our annual fundraising target of £1.5m and setting the foundations for growth to £2m+ in future years.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, diligent, and comfortable taking initiative. You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where relationship-building and ownership of your work are key to driving income and impact. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate partnerships strategy

• With support and guidance from the Head of Fundraising, lead the development and delivery of AVUK’s corporate partnerships strategy in support of our overall fundraising goals.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities at a five and six figure value, unlocking new opportunities that contribute to a £130k partnerships budget this year.

 Business development & income generation

• Work closely with your fundraising and comms colleagues to create compelling proposals and pitches that resonate with corporate and major donor audiences and help you to secure new gifts / partnerships.
• Proactively grow and maintain a strong funding pipeline, creating new prospects for our priority funding areas through quality research, strategic outreach and developing engagement opportunities.

 Relationship management & external engagement

• Manage a small portfolio of corporate partnerships including our flagship partnership with Markerstudy Group, delivering excellent stewardship and ensuring long-term engagement.
• Lead the planning and delivery of the Sounds of Success event (November 2026), as a key moment in our stewardship and engagement calendar.
