Principal Duties and Responsibilities of Post-Holder:

1. Assist in the preparing and assembling food items according to the café’s menu. Maintaining a clean and sanitary workplace and using proper food handling tools.
2. Follow food safety & hygiene standards during the preparation, storage, and handling of food.
3. Provide excellent service to customers, including taking orders offering menu recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. 
4. Assist in setting up catering events, including arranging food displays, ensuring proper portion sizes, and ensuring the presentation is appealing. Ensure all arrangements comply with food hygiene best practices and relevant regulations.
5. Transport cooked food safely to various premises around campus, ensuring it is stored and delivered in compliance with the food safety regulations, including maintaining appropriate temperatures and preventing contamination during transit.
6. Monitor food and beverage inventory levels and help replenish stock as needed. Ensure all food and ingredients are stored properly and in accordance with food and regulations.
7. Carry out food temperature control monitoring, including checking, recording, and maintaining appropriate temperatures during storage, preparation, cooking, and transportation. 
8. Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, including cleaning kitchen equipment, tables, serving areas, and restocking supplies.
9. Work collaboratively with management team and student staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
10. Assist with cash register duties, including taking payments and providing change as necessary.
11. Follow all food safety guidelines, sanitation procedures, and health safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and customer.
12. Manage inventory and place food and beverage orders in alignment with operational needs.

Gifts in Wills help fund over 1/3 of the vital care we provide. Working with the Head of Legacies and your job share partner, you’ll ensure that all gifts in Wills left to Princess Alice Hospice are administered in a professional, timely and compassionate way, in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.

We are looking for someone to take an active lead in setting up the new Shed and working with our wider staff team and volunteers. You will be able to promote the project to encourage participation by giving talks, arranging taster sessions and using social media. You will also arrange short courses and training sessions and ensure new participants are briefed on health and safety. You will have good interpersonal skills and enjoy working a part of a team.

Hours:                  25 - 27.5 hours per week Mon – Fri. Daily working hours can be 9 - 3, 9:30 - 3:30 or 10 - 4. Half hour unpaid break.

Age UK Richmond upon Thames is a local independent charity supporting older people across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We provide a wide range of useful and well utilised local services in Richmond upon Thames designed to improve wellbeing and enhance independence – including information & advice; a wide range of social & wellbeing centres and sessions; support after hospital discharge; digital skills development; Dementia Friendly Richmond; mental health peer support and home services such as handyperson, housekeeping and gardening. Partnership is a core part of our work – we work in close collaboration with other voluntary sector partners and wider organisations to maximise our impact and reach. Our friendly and committed team of 50 staff and 100+ volunteers support over 4,000 local older people each year.

We currently have an excellent administrator opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides much needed free support to local older people who have been discharged from hospital or become unwell in the community – with a particular emphasis on those living alone and without family support. 

Our small team of team & volunteers are  involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge and make homes safer to avoid admission – including fitting keysafes, moving furniture, shopping, giving advice and coordinating with health & social teams. 

This busy role will include:

- Taking referrals into the service and adding to the CRM / database.

- Updating CRM / database and gathering information for the team to support clients.

- Coordinating Nightingale staff and volunteers to ensure tasks essential for a safe discharge are complete.

- Ensure the individual receives the support/services they need taking a holistic approach – working and communicating with staff, referrers, clients, family members, carers, social workers, hospitals and other Age UK Richmond and voluntary sector services. 

We are looking for an individual with excellent administration and IT skills with experience in a health or social care related field being highly desirable. A proactive, enthusiastic and highly organised approach is also essential.

The Finance Assistant will support the Senior Finance Manager and Finance and Operations Director. They will be responsible for all aspects of sale, purchase and nominal ledger, credit control, payments and various reconciliations. General management account duties will also be required

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the shared inbox and respond to queries to internal and external contacts in a timely and courteous manner.
• Log purchase invoices into the finance system and request authorisation from budget holders, ensuring that documentation is complete and correct.
• Issue all sales invoices and maintain funders invoicing schedule.
• Request and reconcile supplier statements.
• Ensure finance policies are followed for the set-up of new customers and suppliers.
• Support internal team with expense reimbursements, including maintaining the expenses software and relevant reconciliations. Follow up on missing documentation or evidence of non-compliance.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and issue remittance advices.
• Issue statements to customers and regular credit control activities.
• Check ledgers for missing costs. Identify and resolve missing costs or discrepancies in ledgers.

Bromley Experts by Experience is a local Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation, run by and for Deaf and Disabled people and carers in Bromley and neighbouring Boroughs.

We have a vision of a world where Disabled people are able to live their lives independently, in the way they choose, participating fully in society and enjoying equity and respect for diversity.

Our mission is to enable Deaf and Disabled people and carers in Bromley and neighbouring Boroughs to fully understand our rights, develop collective pride and build skills and experience in self-advocacy and strong civic participation. We believe this will allow Disabled people to lead in challenging discrimination in Bromley and beyond, breaking down barriers to independence, choice and equity.

You would be joining a small, committed team of staff who are passionate about creating more inclusive and accessible communities in Bromley and beyond to enable Deaf and Disabled people to participate fully in society and realise our rights.

As Youth Transition Worker, you will be working with young Disabled people in schools/colleges and the local community to support them to navigate the transition to adulthood. You will lead on co-producing workshops and events with young Disabled people to ensure they have the skills and knowledge they need to make this transition successfully.

Position: Youth Transition Worker

Responsible to: Deputy CEO

Location: You will be based in our office in Anerley. During term time, you will be visiting four Bromley schools weekly. In addition, you will need to be able to travel to other Bromley venues as required and occasionally further afield. Some hybrid working may be possible in this role in consultation with your line manager.

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: £29,300 per year pro rata to 28 hours per week (35 hours FTE)

Annual leave: 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays, pro rata

Pension: Statutory opt in rules applied to all our jobs

What you will be working on:

• Plan and deliver accessible and engaging workshops within schools/colleges, taking the access needs and learning preferences of young Disabled people into account.
• Establish a working group to develop a Youth Forum for young Disabled people in the Borough to campaign and have influence around issues that affect them.
• Develop connections with other youth organisations to organise workshops in school holidays that appeal to young Disabled people.
• Promote our free membership and volunteering opportunities to young Disabled people.
• Develop the skills of young Disabled people so they can take up positions on our Trustee Board.  
• Support young Disabled people to regularly evaluate the project and ensure that this data is updated on our database in a timely manner.

This job is for you if:

• You have personal lived experience of being Deaf and/or Disabled.
• You have experience of working with young people with a diverse range of needs to build their confidence and resilience.
• You can show empathy with young people and an understanding of their needs, empowering them to overcome barriers to reach their potential.
• You have understanding of the importance of safeguarding and working with people who might be ‘at risk’.
• You have strong organisational and time management skills, including being able to problem-solve, show initiative, meet targets and plan and prioritise your workload. 
• You have excellent communication skills, including an ability to adapt and tailor communication for people with varying access needs.
• You are able to cope with limited resources, seize opportunities and think creatively.​
• You are willing and able to travel frequently across Bromley to schools/colleges and local community venues.

Assistant x 2

1 x to the CEO | 1 x Communications & Helpline

Location: Hybrid – working from home, with at least 1 day a month working in London.

Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week).

Salary: £25,000 per annum

We’re looking for two enthusiastic, ambitious and organised individuals to join our team as Assistants, each supporting a different area of the charity. One role will provide high-level support to our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while the other will focus on helping our Communications and Helpline team deliver their vital services. These are excellent opportunities to work at the heart of a charity that is committed to creating a dyslexia-inclusive society.

About the roles

Executive Assistant

This role will support the smooth day-to-day functioning of the CEO’s office, helping manage key processes, communications, and external relations. You’ll be central to diary coordination, board support, stakeholder liaison, and financial administration, contributing to strong governance and strategic delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

· Managing the CEO’s diary, inbox, travel and meeting logistics

· Preparing board papers, agendas, minutes, and reports

· Liaising with stakeholders and trustees

· Supporting advocacy and public affairs activity (e.g. parliamentary events)

· Helping with financial admin tasks such as raising invoices and supplier forms

· Providing wider administrative support to the senior leadership team as needed

This role would suit someone confident in managing sensitive information, working to tight deadlines, and liaising with senior contacts across the charity and beyond.

Communications & Helpline Assistant

This varied and rewarding role provides hands-on support to our helpline and external communications work. You’ll be helping our volunteers offer accurate and empathetic support to the public while also assisting with digital content, social media and outreach campaigns.

Key responsibilities include:

· Supporting helpline volunteer coordination, training and performance

· Helping develop and maintain helpline resources and records

· Creating and publishing content for our social media and website

· Supporting email marketing, digital analytics, and campaign promotion

· Assisting with press releases, stakeholder communications and events

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, has strong communication skills, and an interest in digital content and community engagement.

What we’re looking for (both roles)

· Excellent organisational, administrative and multitasking skills

· Demonstrable experience in a similar job

· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

· A friendly, proactive, can-do attitude and attention to detail

· Confidence using IT systems, including MS Office and databases

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team

· Discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information

The following is also highly desirable - experience in a charity setting, knowledge of dyslexia/neurodiversity, and familiarity with tools like Xero, Canva, or WordPress (depending on the role).
