Key areas of responsibility

· Manage your own caseload and undertake casework with minimal supervision.

· Create and maintain comprehensive client and service provision records, using information technology and other systems.

· Support service delivery via telephone, drop-in, and pre-booked appointments, including staffing the response line as needed.

· Advocate on behalf of clients with third parties, including the Department for Work and Pensions and local authorities, by letter, telephone, email, and in-person.

· Contribute to multi-disciplinary service provision, build excellent working relationships, and establish referral pathways to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

· Maintain excellent knowledge of benefits, housing law, grants, as well as changes in law, practice, and supporting services.

· Attend any outreach including social groups as required.

· Ensure safeguarding measures for vulnerable adults and children, as well as the health and safety of staff, volunteers, and clients, are followed in line with established processes.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer with an international development charity on a permanent, full-time basis. As Finance Officer you will support the Finance Business Partner and the wider team with the financial oversight of the charity’s programmes. You will also support the wider Finance & Operations team, particularly the Financial Accountant, with month-end accounting tasks as required.

Please note, hybrid working is in place with this organisation with 3 days per week needed in the office (Tuesday to Thursday).

As Finance Officer, you will:

- Support Grant Managers and local implementing partners with the development of project budgets for proposals, by providing technical Excel support, financial and data analysis

- Support Grant Managers with reviewing monthly and quarterly expenditure vs. budget reports, by checking formulae, analysing data trends, and summarising financial data in reports to funders

- Support Grant Managers and the implementing partner finance teams with financial analysis, funder-facing summaries, validating data and formulae

- Carry out basic month-end tasks such as bank reconciliations

- Have demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role (financial or data analysis)

- Have exceptionally strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, IF functions, Pivot tables, index matching, data validation)

ROLE DESCRIPTION  

As Finance and Operations officer, you will report to the Operations and Systems Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team. This role is vital to the support of the wider organisation, being the go-to person for financial, HR and IT enquiries.

Finance Administration 

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including importing and coding invoices for approval, raising sales invoices, and supporting bank reconciliation. 
• Prepare and issue contracts and invoices for colleges, freelancers, and central team members. 
• Manage credit control by coordinating weekly payment runs and liaising with debtors to ensure timely payment. 
• Prepare monthly payroll submissions, including reconciling tutor hours, holiday pay and training. 
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for internal budget holders. 
• Assist with compiling financial information for the Fundraising Team as required. 

HR and Policy Administration 

• Help maintain our policy library, ensuring all charity policies remain compliant and up to date.

• Assist the Operations & Systems Manager in planning and delivering our termly Team Days.

Office tasks  

• Liaise with the Charity we share offices with regarding office facilities and help maintain office supplies and equipment levels. 
• Manage keyholder records, ensuring an accurate log of staff with key and fob access to the office. 

General Administration 

• Monitor and respond to shared mailboxes, ensuring timely and appropriate handling of enquiries or redirecting them as needed. 
• Provide additional programme support where required – including booking conferences and ordering printed materials or resources. 
• Respond to internal queries and offer cross-team support on financial, HR, and IT matters.

Plumstead Community Law Centre is a free specialist legal advice charity located in central Woolwich in South East London. We provide specialist legal advice and advocacy in the areas of immigration, welfare benefits and employment People can access our services via telephone or email, and through the Advice Hub outreach services we attend in local community centres. In 2024 over 1,400 local people accessed our advice and representation services, resulting in a range of financial and non-financial benefits.

Women and Girls Network’s (WGN) Administration & Bookings Officers (ABO) have day-to-day responsibility for coordinating the bookings for all of our clinical services. They contribute towards the delivery of high-quality therapeutic work through the provision of an empathetic, efficient, and comprehensive service, ensuring that all referral/booking-related matters are administered effectively. This is achieved by working closely and consulting with various managers about any potential barriers to service provision and regarding complex and/or highly sensitive cases. The (Senior) Research Officer will be an integral part of the team working to tackle gambling related financial harms through delivering timely and insightful research and consultancy support.

• Collaborating, brainstorming and analysing to identify potential policy solutions to address gambling related financial harms. 

• Collating insights from our Research Community of people with lived experience of mental health problems, and sharing these learnings through insight reports and briefings with financial services and other stakeholders.

• Supporting the Head of the Gambling Harms Action Lab with monitoring and measuring the impact of our work, engaging with key stakeholders, and suggesting innovative new ways to increase our impact. 

• Supporting other teams within the organisation to deliver our programme of research and consultancy work

 What You’ll Do:

• Lead on delivering our Volunteering Strategy and action plans
• Act as the central point of contact for all volunteering across the Trust
• Design and coordinate inclusive recruitment campaigns
• Support services in developing meaningful, co-designed volunteer roles
• Drive volunteer recognition and retention initiatives
• Ensure best practice in Safer Recruitment and induction
• Analyse volunteering data to inform improvements
• Champion equity, diversity and inclusion within the volunteer workforce

What We’re Looking For:

• A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 in Management or equivalent).
• Significant experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers — including hard-to-fill roles.
• Strong knowledge of Safer Recruitment practices and volunteer management systems (or HR equivalents).
• A successful track record of delivering complex volunteer projects to deadlines.
• Experience working in the charity sector, with a solid understanding of volunteer leadership, recruitment, and retention challenges.
• Confidence in using data to analyse trends and improve volunteer engagement.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including data protection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong IT literacy.
• Ability to travel efficiently and effectively across the Together Trust footprint (Cheadle, Stockport, Openshaw, Worsley & Bolton).

The V&A is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and inspiring Deputy Finance Director to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the museum’s financial resilience and supporting its mission to champion creativity in all its forms.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources, the Deputy Finance Director will work at the heart of the V&A’s strategic and operational decision-making. The postholder will provide leadership to the Finance and Procurement teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial management, business partnering, statutory reporting, and compliance across a complex, multi-site organisation.

Key priorities will include:

• Developing and delivering a multi-year strategic financial model to strengthen resilience and support commercial growth.
•  Leading the annual business planning cycle and aligning financial plans to strategic objectives.
• Enhancing financial systems, reporting, and processes to improve decision-making and efficiency.
• Championing strong financial controls, risk management, and compliance across the organisation.
• Overseeing statutory accounts, external reporting, and technical advice on VAT, Gift Aid, and other tax matters.
• Acting as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, the Board, and external stakeholders.

About You

The V&A is looking for a qualified CCAB accountant (or equivalent) with experience leading finance teams in large, complex organisations. You will have:

• A strong track record in statutory accounts, budgeting, and forecasting
• Technical expertise in accounting and charity taxation
• The ability to present complex financial information clearly to varied audiences
• A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to developing high-performing teams
