Key responsibilities
The main duties to be carried out by the post-holder include:
Alumni Relations
- Manage the Development team inbox and act as the main point of contact for Pembroke’s alumni and other supporters by email, phone, and in person.
- Deal with external communications to the office and forward queries to the appropriate colleague where required.
- Produce briefing notes for the Master, Fellows, and other key staff and volunteers prior to events for alumni relations, stewardship, and fundraising purposes.
- Ensure that the alumni pages of the College website are kept up-to-date and contribute to the generation of online content for social media.
- Process credit card payments for events and ensure accurate records are kept and card details handled securely.
- Provide administrative support to the Pembroke College Ambassador programme.
Operations and Office Management
- Work with the Database and Insights Officer on projects to clean and improve data held on the university-wide DARS database.
- Process updates to contact and other details submitted by alumni.
- Deal with payment and pledge-related queries from donors and potential donors.
- Ensure that the database is maintained with accurate and up-to-date details on Pembroke alumni and other constituents.
- Provide logistical support for overseas trips and other visits undertaken by Development staff.
- Take minutes for meetings of the Campaign Board, Development Committee, Alumni Advisory Board, and other groups.
Internal collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the wider team and colleagues across Pembroke, supporting work outside your functional area where necessary.
- Support fundraising colleagues with regular giving activities including telethons and mailings.
- Provide general support and assistance to the team, particularly for event administration and donor stewardship.
- Attend events as required and assist the Senior Alumni Relations Officer to ensure they are successfully delivered.
- Co-ordinate stationery and office supplies including fundraising and alumni relations materials.
- Collect and deliver post to the Porters’ Lodge.

3. About the role
Please note that this is a new role at Save the Rhino, which offers the chance to help raise vital funds for rhino conservation efforts in Africa and Asia. The Grants Officer will report to the Grants Manager, who in turn reports to the Grants Lead.
Raising funds for specific rhino conservation field programmes and projects in Africa and Asia is a key part of Save the Rhino’s work. In the financial year 2024-25, c. £2.6m in grants were made in response to donor-funded proposals that were drafted by the grants team. Producing good proposals and credible budgets depends on close liaison with Save the Rhino’s partners in the field to understand the issues that need to be addressed and the proposed approaches to tackle them. Receiving repeat grants from donors depends on consistently providing high-quality, relevant and timely reports that analyse the impact of the grants, as well as developing relationships with the donors built on mutual trust and understanding.
As part of Save the Rhino’s grants management team, the Grants Officer will benefit from the opportunity to learn about rhino conservation in the field, and best practice fundraising. The primary focus of the role will be to support the Conservation and Fundraising teams by drafting narrative and financial reports on grants from individuals, companies, grant-making trusts and foundations, zoos, and governments. In addition, the Grants Officer will also participate in internal and external discussions about project design, monitoring and evaluating impact, and help provide content for Save the Rhino’s website, print, and social media.

Programme-facing

- Respond to donors’ requests for images, information, rhino facts etc. on request
Internal
- Participate in and minute weekly meetings to discuss news and priority needs from our partners in the field, grant management and reporting, grant application opportunities, communications opportunities etc.
- Provide compelling copy and images for Save the Rhino’s Communications team to produce content highlighting rhino conservation progress and the impact of donors’ grants
- Ensure all supporter and partner activity is accurately recorded in Save the Rhino’s database (Salesforce) and used effectively for relationship management
- Manage administrative tasks, including creating invoices, and tracking income and expenditure against the budget
- Uphold General Data Protection Regulation, data protection, and fundraising best practice to ensure that Save the Rhino’s fundraising is ethical, inclusive and legally compliant

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) are one of the main partners for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, delivering activities which connect people and greenspace. The successful applicant will work with the London Borough of Waltham Forest representatives, Friends of Parks groups and local people, with the aims of improving nature conservation, health and wellbeing, through social engagement, gentle exercise and connectivity with the outdoors.
TCV are seeking an enthusiastic, confident and experienced person to join our London Health & Education team for this important post. The Project Officer will lead the delivery of three key areas of work in the borough:
1. TCV's Green Gyms - Lead the delivery of weekly nature conservation volunteering sessions for people (with a wide range of abilities), through the TCV Green Gyms at Leyton Jubilee Park (Thursdays) & Lloyd Park (Fridays). The post holder will actively seek new volunteers to attend the TCV Green Gyms, through continual engagement with local social prescribing partners, social media promotion & local advertising of activities. They will also continually recruit and train volunteers to ensure they have the maximum opportunity to develop their skills and experience.
2. Friends of Park support - Support the capacity building & training of the Friends of Parks groups across the borough, which may include anything from organising an external first aid trainer to deliver an event, to you organising & leading a workshop on how to create & manage a wildflower meadow or working to support them on a practical activity. You'll keep the local Friends of Parks group webpages up to date with advertising forthcoming events & updating member's contact details & producing newsletters.
3. Wider events & activities - The post holder will be expected to lead and/or support the delivery of wider activities as required, such as regular family events at Abbott's Park & large family events Love Parks week (currently 8 events during summer months). The Project Officer would also lead corporate volunteering days, likely to take place at the Meridian One Community Garden & Tree Nursery in Enfield.
The post holder will mainly deliver core activities independently, although they'll work closely with the existing colleagues in Waltham Forest, to ensure local people receive the best possible experience. They'll be occasions when there's a need to work extra hours, including evenings & weekends, such as during Love Parks week, which takes place each July & during family events at the community garden (approximately 6 weekend days a year).
The post is full-time for 35 hours per week. The Project Officer will be based in TCV's community garden in Upper Edmonton, Enfield. The community garden has an office from which the post holder will be expected to be based 3 days a week, in order to administer this project. There will be regular travel across Waltham Forest & occasional travel across London, for training & meetings. A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Harris Hill has a temporary opening for a Supporter Care/ Events Assistant to join a lovely charity in Bath, working remote based (Would like a couple days the first week to meet and bring up to speed), on a full time basis, paying up to £29665 on an hourly basis, plus holiday pay.

Salary: Starting salary of £26,500 per annum
Location: Home working with regular travel throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire. Occasional travel to 2wish Head Office in South Wales.
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours over 5 days
Objective:
2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.
Aims:
- Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
- Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
- Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families
2wish Cymru and 2wish:
2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.
We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.
Context of role:
2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.
As we continue to expand our services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of our relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.
Main duties:
Service:
- To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
- Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
- Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
- To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
- To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
- Attend relevant forums within the area
- To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
- To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
- Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
- To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
- Maintain stock of 2wish memory boxes and deliver boxes to partner organisations as required
- To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
- To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
- Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness
- To travel to attend in-person team meetings and in-person training as required
- To travel to in-person events as required
General:
- To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
- To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
- To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
- To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate

Youth Engagement Officer
Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2026 with the possibility to extend.
Holidays: 38 days per year, including our 3-day winter shut down and eight flexible bank holidays.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time) Please note as this role works with young people there will be occasions where your working hours will be outside the standard 9-5:30pm. This will typically be a few meetings per month that can last until 7pm and about four weekend days over the year. Our Youth Steering Group is made up of 25 brilliant young people, aged 14-24, who draw on their lived experience of the different barriers to accessing a fair education, to campaign for change. You will support the young people to lead their own campaign activity, write their monthly Youth Bulletin and engage directly with policy makers. You will also help the group to participate in FEA decision making, support the design and facilitation of their monthly meetings and training days, help them make progress against their personal development plans. This role will include working directly with young people, session planning and facilitation, policy research and managing logistics.
Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led
Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.
Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice
Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. You will also support the facilitation of the workshops and ensure the attendee data and feedback is correctly logged and actioned. The critical responsibilities of this role are described above. They may be subject to reasonable changes from time to time in line with business need and the decisions of the youth leaders we support.
