The ISM seeks a Legal Officer to help deliver key services to its members across a wide range of legal issues. The role includes supporting unpaid-fee claims, helping musicians understand third-party contracts, and assisting the wider legal team with ongoing matters.

The award-winning ISM is the dynamic, change making professional body representing musicians. With a current membership of over 11,000, the ISM is known for its legal support to its members across a range of issues from copyright and employment disputes to contracts.  We are also known for our campaigning work on issues from equality to Brexit and AI which can cross over into legal services. We do not handle litigation and any disputes which proceed to this stage are handled by our legal insurance providers. 

It is vital that we deliver gold standard legal services, responding to the needs of our professional musician membership. You will be someone who has experience as a legal adviser or have some legal knowledge such as contract, copyright or employment law. You will be proactive with strong problem solving skills, good drafting and oral skills, keen attention to detail and good emotional intelligence.

You will be joining a professional staff team who are based in Bayswater, London. The role is five days per week of which at least three will be in the office.

Summary

The Church of England's Digital Team was created in 2016 to develop the Church's approach to the web, social media and wider technological innovation. The team works to support teams across the Church in line with its wider vision and strategy, while identifying digital opportunities to engage new audiences with messages of the Church. Based in the Communications Team, it also works closely with Church House Publishing on national campaigns, such as Christmas and Easter. We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. The postholder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers.

The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice or in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing policies/legislations, with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.

As our HyPE Manager you will set up, embed and lead the implementation of Voyage’s Horizons Youth Programme for the Environment, a pioneering employability, mentoring and wellbeing programme combining a weekly Job Club, renewable energy and green-skills training, construction pathways and embedded therapeutic support linked to employment opportunities delivered in partnership with Repowering London, New city College and Talking Quest.

We are seeking a Community Development Officer to lead a major in-progress project improving recognition, support, and care for people with smell and taste disorders at a local level across England. 

This three-year, volunteer-led programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund has achieved significant success in its first eighteen months. We are now recruiting a new postholder to take this strong foundation forward through the next phase of delivery. 

Over the past eighteen months, we have recruited and established a thriving network of volunteers and local groups across England. This momentum is expected to continue. The Community Development Officer will work closely with existing volunteers and groups, primarily remotely, while also attending in-person events and meetings in different parts of England as needed. 

The postholder will lead the ongoing recruitment, training, and support of volunteer groups, working with them to identify opportunities for local outreach and engagement. Our properties are places of safety, Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), from which we work with individuals. The BDFA, founded in 1998 is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

- Experience in all aspects of community fundraising including events, assisting fundraisers to develop imaginative fundraising ideas and inspiring new supporters to raise funds whilst maintaining relationships with existing supporters

- Experience in building and sustaining long-term relationships with fundraising groups and individual supporters

- Experience in managing effective and creative fundraising communications on social media and the website

- Ability to contribute to the overall Trusts and Foundations income stream, including proactively researching and identifying grant funding opportunities 

- Ability to lead on creative fundraising campaigns around key events such as Batten disease awareness day and Christmas

The role is full time (35 hours per week) and is home based with occasional travel around the UK to meet donors and support fundraising events.
