In our supported accommodation services, you will work directly with residents, building trust, encouraging progress and providing the practical support that makes independence possible. As a Trainee Floating Support Worker, you will travel across London to meet clients in their homes and communities, tackling housing issues, supporting health and wellbeing, and helping them achieve personal goals. The work is varied, fast-paced and deeply rewarding, with every shift – whether early mornings, late evenings, weekends or bank holidays – bringing the chance to see real change happen.
With SHP, you are never on your own. You will learn from some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable people in the sector, gaining expertise in areas from housing and benefits to mental health and recovery approaches. About you:
You do not need to have previous or formal experience working in the homelessness sector or in a support role. We are seeking people with transferable skills and experience gained from a varied background, who will demonstrate a commitment and passion for the work that we do. You will be ready to learn on the job and we will support you to develop your own learning and practice through a structured programme and teamwork.

Involving ongoing support, trainee specific workshops and plenty of opportunity to learn on the job through formal training, reflective practice, service visits and working with experienced colleagues. The traineeship period will run up to 9 months with a possibility for a fast track at 6 months.

About the role:

We are looking for an Assertive Outreach Worker to join us (on an up to 12 months maternity cover), stepping into a position that blends leadership, creativity and direct impact. In this role, you will hold a caseload of 15 clients across Westminster and temporary accommodation sites in boroughs across London, working as part of a close-knit, specialist team alongside four other Assertive Outreach Workers, a manager and a psychologist. Your day will be as varied as it is rewarding - guiding clients to sustain their tenancies, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, engage with substance use support services, and access routes into employment. You will cultivate strong partnerships with local agencies, from statutory services to specialist providers, ensuring no opportunity for progress is missed. You will also play a crucial role in assessing needs, identifying risks and maintaining accurate, meaningful records that help shape the support we provide. About you:
- Understanding and experience of working with the issues faced by people who experience mental ill health, substance use issues, and who have offending histories, in accessing the appropriate support from services.
- A working knowledge of best practice to support individuals who may be classified as ‘experiencing multiple disadvantage’ including Trauma Informed Approaches.
- Experience working as part of a multi-agency partnership to address complex problems and bring about positive change.
- Familiarity with relevant housing, health and social justice legislation, policy and best practice relevant to systems change and people with multiple needs.
- A good and current understanding of safeguarding issues and procedures.

The Fundraising Strategy & Operations Team deliver the Fundraising strategy and provide high quality operations to support the Fundraising Directorate. The team has a variety of different functions including Supporter Care, Strategic Liaison with Service teams, Compliance, Supporter Journeys and Communications as well as general administration. This role will be managing the Supporter Care team of three people.
About you
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a busy supporter care environment, working to tight deadlines
- Experience of writing donor correspondence and creating data capture guidance
- Proven experience of supporter care campaign management including creating clear processes and flow charts and managing, negotiating and liaising with suppliers.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage a variety of projects and activities to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to develop strong working relationships with external suppliers and internal departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and produce written documents to a high standard

About the role:
At the heart of Camden’s response to street homelessness, the Rough Sleepers Hub Assessment Centre at 165 Kings Cross Road plays a vital role in offering people a safe place to begin their journey away from the streets. With 16 beds and a focus on short-term stays, the service aims to support individuals into secure and suitable housing within just 28 days. This is not simply a place to stay; it’s a place where change begins, you will be instrumental in making that change possible.
Working within a psychologically informed and trauma-aware environment, you’ll support people facing some of the most entrenched challenges in society. You’ll take the lead on a caseload, carrying out in-depth assessments and building support plans shaped around each individual’s unique circumstances. This includes creating tailored interventions that address a range of support needs your clients may face; from and physical health difficulties, to substance use, trauma and experiences with the criminal justice system. You’ll help residents with practical daily tasks, support their engagement with training and employment opportunities, and collaborate with a wide network of professionals including Connect Forward, In Roads and Camden Routes off The Streets to offer truly holistic support.

About you:

- Understanding of professional boundaries and their importance when delivering trauma informed support. This includes demonstrating a non-judgemental approach to working with multi-disadvantaged / complex needs clients and to promote a strengths-based approach.

- Experience working in partnership with a range of individuals/agencies to coordinate activities/support and achieve positive outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to work on a rota system of early and late shifts, which may include some variable hours including some evenings and weekends.

We’re recruiting a forward thinking, strategic and compassionate Head of Family Services to lead the development of our support services delivered by our team of Family Support Workers to families of children and young people with cancer in the East Midlands. This is a newly created role and a key position in our small, impactful charity.
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in family support, health or social care, excellent people and communication skills, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of families facing childhood cancer.
The post holder will have direct line management responsibility for our team of Family Support Workers and Family Services Co-ordinator, providing leadership across service development, staff wellbeing, safeguarding, partnership engagement, and impact reporting. Working alongside the Regional Services Manager and Team Manager, you'll take on a specialist role focused on clients with complex support needs linked to high-risk offending behaviour (MAPPA Level 2 & 3), mental and physical health issues, and substance use. You’ll build trusted relationships, support clients to reduce their risk of reoffending, and help them access the services they need, from mental health and medical care to pathways out of homelessness. Your work will not only promote social inclusion and greater independence for each individual, but also directly contribute to creating safer, stronger communities.

About the role:
At the heart of Camden’s mission to end rough sleeping, the Gray's Inn Road project offers short-stay accommodation for 16 individuals experiencing some of the most challenging periods in their lives. Funded by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Greater London Authority, and delivered in partnership with One Housing Group and Camden Council, this service plays a pivotal role in ensuring rough sleeping in Camden is not only rare but brief and not repeated. Residents typically stay between three to six months, during which time the focus is on creating pathways into safe, sustainable housing and renewed independence.
You’ll be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering trauma-informed, psychologically informed support. You’ll work closely with clients facing overlapping challenges including homelessness, poor physical and mental health, substance use, trauma and histories with the criminal justice system. With your own caseload, you’ll conduct in-depth assessments, build tailored support plans and facilitate interventions that reflect the needs, strengths and aspirations of each person. Every day brings new opportunities to connect people with education, training or employment, to help them rebuild practical life skills, and to foster progress towards long-term goals.

This role is part of an ambitious national initiative called the Accelerating Reform Fund (ARF), funded by the Department for Health and Social Care to support innovation and positive change in adult social care. Greater Manchester’s ARF programme brings together all 10 local authorities, the NHS, Voluntary sector organisations, carers, and people with lived experience to improve care for adults.
As part of the evaluation of this programme, we are recruiting Peer Researchers to gather real-life stories from people across Greater Manchester about their experiences with care and support services. These stories will help improve how services are designed and delivered, particularly in two areas:
• Improving the identification and support for unpaid carers throughout the hospital discharge process;
• Shared Lives respite options for unpaid carers, including day support.
This role will be part of a small team of Peer Researchers, all of whom bring valuable insight from their own experiences and will work closely with the Lived Experience Coordinator to gather and reflect the diverse voices and stories of people across Greater Manchester.
Role Purpose
As a Peer Researcher, your role is to listen, capture, learn, and share. You will use your lived experience and connection to your community to gather stories from others, especially those who may feel overlooked or unheard.
You don’t need formal qualifications or previous experience in research as you’ll receive full training – you just need a genuine interest in people, the ability to listen, and a commitment to positive change.
By helping us understand what care and support really feels like on the ground, you’ll directly contribute to evaluating how well the ARF projects are meeting people’s needs – and what should be done differently going forward.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the delivery of a community research project by gathering people’s real experiences of care and support across Greater Manchester through one-to-one conversations, interviews, or group storytelling sessions.
• Record stories using approaches such as note taking, Dictaphone or video within an ethical and trauma-informed framework.
• Attend training and team meetings to build skills in community research, consent, safeguarding, and storytelling.
• Work collaboratively with the Lived Experience Coordinator and other Peer Researchers to curate the stories, reflect on emerging themes and contribute to the overall evaluation of the ARF programme.
• Help develop and share research findings in meaningful ways – such as reports, events, or creative formats – to influence local decision-making and service improvement.
Other details
This is a sessional (casual) role, which means you are not employed on a fixed contract or guaranteed number of hours, nor are you entitled to sick pay or other employee related benefits. Instead, we will agree with you an approximate number of hours and tasks based on your availability, personal circumstances and the needs of the project. You will be responsible for declaring this income for the purposes of tax/national insurance or benefits and we will ask you to sign a declaration to this effect (as well as signposting you to where you can seek independent advice on this).
