We are looking for a Development Manager in our Place Development Team who will focus on Public Leisure.A key element within our 10-year Strategy - Uniting the Movement is our commitment to work through Place, Creating Active Environments and supporting Public Leisure facilities to be more community focused and evolve to an active wellbeing service:
- Creating Active Environment’s provides places and spaces for people to be more active and build healthier active communities.
- Developing stronger, happier healthy communities and better places to live, by ensuring our built and natural environments and the connections in between are design or adapted around people, creating the opportunities to increase physical activity levels

The public leisure sector also has a central role to play in the delivery of our Uniting the Movement strategy, as it is a core element of each of the five Big Issues we have identified as having the greatest potential for preventing and tackling inequalities in sport and physical activity.
- Our Future of Public Leisure report identified two medium term goals for the sector (1) to transition from a traditional leisure service to one which is far more focussed on active wellbeing (2) to move to a model that focusses on added value and supporting the delivery of local priorities, and with that enable the delivery of wider government priorities around Levelling Up, net zero and health inequalities
- To fully understand the role of public leisure centres, Moving Communities Facilities provides a real-time view of local authority facility performance, with benchmarking and filtering functionality, that explores financial performance alongside understanding how effective the service is and for whom, and its impact on local communities.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.
Our Change team does this by building excellent relationships and sharing evidence of what works with organisations and key individuals across the public, private, third sectors and local communities. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, proactive and highly organised Change and Events Officer to join our Change team to help us fulfil our mission.
Key responsibilities
Most fundamentally, your job is to work as a member of our Change team to make sure we’re excellent at running events and managing relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll make sure the team is incredibly organised and has the support it needs to work effectively. Key responsibilities:
-
Event Organising. Help to organise events, from small roundtables to large in person conferences. You will help make sure events run brilliantly, from booking venues to managing invites and organising materials.
-
External Relationship Management Support. Provide support to the team in managing external relationships by scheduling meetings, organising workshops and developing materials.
-
Meeting Effectiveness. Make sure certain meetings are effective. You’ll do this by organising the meetings, taking great minutes, making sure we keep track of things we said we would do and saving the documents in the right place.
-
Project Support. Help ensure projects within the Change teams are done brilliantly. This may involve administrative tasks, tracking deadlines or leading projects as needed.
-
Query Management. Monitor and respond to general queries by managing the team inbox.
-
Salesforce Reporting and Stakeholder Communication. Lead on coordinating Salesforce reporting and effective communication outreach for key stakeholder groups.
-
Stakeholder Engagement and Change Activities. Develop and support stakeholder engagement and Change activities, including monitoring and compiling feedback from surveys.
-
Team Scorecard Coordination. Lead on co-ordinating the team scorecard, ensuring that the team is on track with targets.
-
Collaboration. Work closely with other roles (including our Operations and Culture team) within YEF to ensure coordinated efforts and sharing of best practices.
About you
You are this sort of person:
-
You’re incredibly organised: You have an eye for detail and you’re excellent at and enjoy designing a plan and seeing it through. You use your organisational skills to work across your team and keep everyone working together to achieve the same goals. You have a track record of making things happen on time. You like finding ways to make things operate better for everyone. It’s a plus if you’ve used the Salesforce system, before but it’s not a requirement.
-
You love organising external events: You like helping to create experiences that leave people feeling energised, excited and ready to act, whether that’s a well-run roundtable, an effective workshop or a remarkable conference.
-
You understand how people and organisations work: You understand the nuance of how decisions get made and you understand how to find out who has decision-making power.
-
You win people over: People tend to warm to you and respect you. You easily build good relationships with both very senior and very junior people. You are at ease talking to a senior civil servant or a 15-year-old.
-
You love supporting great teams: You don’t know all the answers, but you enjoy helping colleagues find answers and solve problems so that the team can work brilliantly and efficiently.
-
You’re able to juggle many diverse tasks at once: You enjoy moving between different types of projects and prefer a job that looks a bit different every day. You can effectively identify what’s most important and how to balance different priorities.
-
You learn fast but remain humble: You quickly get your head around ideas. You have a track record that shows how quickly you think. It wouldn't faze you to have responsibility for organising things that are new to you, as long as you have an expert to ask advice from. You like learning and developing. You are proactive, but happy to ask for help when needed.
-
You don't want your days to pass without making a difference: You want to play a significant part in a charity that is making a difference. You like the idea of doing a job that makes young people safer.
-
You’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion: You believe and act in a way that celebrates and encourages a range of experiences, views and values.
While it’s not a criterion, we are especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of youth violence.
It’s also important to us that the people we hire do not discriminate. We believe in being inclusive and giving everyone an equal chance to succeed. Applications are welcome from all regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation, transgender status or social economic background.
All appointments will be made on merit, following a fair and transparent process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, however, the organisation may employ positive action where candidates from underrepresented groups can demonstrate their ability to perform the role equally well.
Additional benefits include
£1,000 professional development budget annually, 28 days plus Bank Holidays, four half days for volunteering activities.

Camden Carers is a charity organisation that provides support and services to informal carers within the London Borough of Camden.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team at Camden Carers and make a difference to the lives of people and families in Camden. We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and flexible team member who is able to adapt to the ever changing and challenging times we find ourselves in.
Carers, who provide care for a family member, partner or friend who has a disability or long-term illness, play a vital role in our community. Many people who have someone who depends on them for support don’t consider themselves a carer yet they are fundamental to the effort to keep people cared for and safe, whilst saving the NHS billions.
Camden Carers proactively embraces equality and diversity at the very core of what we do, throughout the organisation. Our commitment to equality, diversity and anti-racism is to ensure that all carers have equal access in accordance with their individual needs to our services, no matter their background, belief, sexual orientation, disability, gender, or ethnicity.
As a part of the Support & Wellbeing Team, you will be required to identify informal carers from all communities in the London Borough of Camden, who care for a family member, partner or friend living with a Mental Health condition. You will provide relevant and appropriate support, information and advocacy to informal carers.
You will need proven experience of delivering provision within a related field and working with people and/or community groups; in particular we are keen to find someone with knowledge and experience in Mental Health. More details can be found in the job application pack on our website.
Camden Carers values the diversity of its community and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We therefore encourage applications from all sections of the community. We would like to encourage people who have been or are currently carers to apply. We are committed to ensuring that all employees and job applicants are provided with equality of opportunity in employment.

Advocacy and Support Manager
Do you want to make life better for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse?
Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is seeking a Survivor Engagement Manager. Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma- informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
We are looking for a new Advocacy & Support Manager to manage a team of specialist advocates and caseworkers providing needs-led support, information and advocacy to LGBT+ survivors of a range of violence and abuse. You will work with the Head of Advocacy and other advocacy managers to ensure that survivors have access to needs-led, timely support that is right for them, maintaining high quality, consistent support across our advocacy and one-to-one support, whether that is in-person or remote.
You will have an in depth understanding of the spectrum of violence and abuse that LGBT+ people are subjected to, including the causes, impact and barriers to accessing services. You will use your expertise to represent Galop with key stakeholders, advocating for the needs of the community. You will be responsible for ensuring that data collected about the service is collected consistently and use this to report to funders. You will develop and maintain relationships with funders and ensuring that the service is effectively demonstrating the different that it makes. You will work with the Head of Advocacy and Director of Services to develop bids for new or continued funding for frontline services.
You will have expertise in delivering needs-led specialist support services. You will need to be solutions-focussed and enjoy working collaboratively across a diverse and committed team. You’ll need to have good resilience and self-care, and be prepared to work in an environment where abuse and violence are regularly talked about. You’ll need to understand the impact of trauma and how that affects our team.
Location: Galop’s offices are located in London. This role will have the option of hybrid working.
Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week)
