PURPOSE OF POSITION

This is a critical frontline leadership role that is responsible for the operation of the organisation’s homelessness and rough sleeping services at Anchor House.

You will provide operational leadership to support services managers and ensure compliance with organisational, contractual, local authority and legal regulations and requirements. You will ensure the quality of services is pushed to the highest standards possible, ensuring excellent outcomes for residents and a positive and high performing working environment for teams.

This role will also be accountable for building and maintenance of excellent relationships with external partners, commissioners, other key stakeholders for support services in the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Service Delivery

· Lead in setting organisational standards and performance targets across the support services that reflect contractual requirements and organisational standards.

· Actively promote and develop person centred practices based on a trauma informed approach and psychologically informed environment to working with residents with high support needs and challenging behaviour.

· Be accountable for the operational performance of the services, allocating resources strategically to ensure that key performance indicators are achieved and that action plans are in place where required to improve service performance.

· Promote accountability and co-production approaches with residents.

· Support with the creation and review of local and service wide policies and procedures.

· As part of the Frontline Services Leadership Team, ensure the support services team follow established Health & Safety and building management procedures

· Contribute, and when required, lead on the formation and review of local and service wide policies and procedures.

· Contribute to the Frontline Service’s Management On Call rota, providing support to frontline services outside of office hours.

Stakeholder Management

· Develop and maintain close relationships and working protocols with external partners and local authorities to enable the service to meet agreed objectives and improve service outcomes.

· Submit management information on a monthly and quarterly basis and produce other statistics and data as directed by the Director of Frontline Services.

· Responsible for good and effective liaison with outside agencies including the police, social services and other statutory and voluntary agencies and delegating this work where appropriate.

· Represent the organisation externally at forums, conferences and meetings.

· Contribute to the wider management team in frontline services to ensure good communication, coordination and consistency of practice, approach and development across the Directorate.

Business Planning and Project Management

· Drive business planning activities within contracts, ensuring relevant and challenging objective setting and ongoing performance tracking, developing turn around action plans as may be necessary

· Where agreed, project manage new services or service developments.

· Working closely with Finance Department to set, manage and monitor allocated budgets for income and expenditure for support services and to ensure that teams keep within set performance targets.

· To ensure that financial procedures are maintained at all times in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

Managing and Developing People

· Creating an open and inclusive culture across the support services teams that reflects the organisation’s values.

· Developing performance targets and quality control measures for teams, and monitoring performance to ensure that these are met.

· Supporting managers and teams by setting clear objectives and holding individual supervisions regularly.

· Ensuring good communication across teams by holding team meetings regularly, and additional briefings as necessary.

· Inducting new managers and any other direct reports and planning the continuous professional development of existing managers through annual appraisals.

· Managing the workload of teams to ensure that adequate cover is provided at all times.

Safeguarding Lead

· To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for the organisation ensuring that it meets legal duties, keeping policy and practices up to date

· To actively promote an open and accountable approach across the organisation as a whole that achieves best practice and keeps the best interest of the residents central to our safeguarding practices.

General

· To attend meetings internally as and when necessary, for example, Directorate, Management and planning meetings.

· To undertake such other duties within the competence of the post holder which may be required from time to time.

We're looking for a Philanthropy Manager to join our ambitious fundraising team. In this role you will deliver excellent relationship management (prospecting, cultivation and stewardship) for a growing portfolio of high net worth prospects and major donors to help the team achieve ambitious and growing financial targets. Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for a strong and supportive manager to help lead their Support Services. This role is initially a 6 month fixed term contract.

As Support Services Manager, you will line manage a team of frontline staff and will oversee the Support and Night services, consisting of 30 bed spaces for women with high support complex needs; the service aims to offer holistic support to these women, working alongside a range of partner organisations to facilitate a step-down move-on for women into semi-independent living. You will work to create and maintain key partnerships, continually ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to all service users of the Project.

To be considered for this position, you must have significant housing management experience, as well as extensive knowledge and appreciation of the challenges faced by homeless women. You must have demonstrable experience of leading frontline staff, as well as significant safeguarding experience. You will also have proven working experience of contract monitoring and of setting and influencing strategy. Ultimately you will be enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to leading a team to deliver the best quality of support to vulnerable homeless women.

The primary purpose of the Night and Weekend Manager role is to ensure the effective management and operation of MPMT’s housing projects in Southeast London, focusing on promoting the safety, well-being, and personal development of children and young female residents. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

• Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and good practices.

• Coordinate the organisation of workshops and events, integrating resident suggestions and feedback.

• Maintain contact with residents absent for extended periods without notice and facilitate welcome visits while adhering to GDPR and safeguarding rules.

Service Delivery

• Oversee the quality of support and housing services at TR and ER, maintaining rental accounts, minimising arrears, and managing terms of Licence Agreements.

• Manage complex issues or tenancy breaches.

• Lead control of voids and rent arrears and ensure new residents are effectively inducted.

• Conduct risk assessments for building and fire safety, supervise repairs, and manage reception duties.

• Ensure the completion of necessary training for all team members, including de-escalation, and handle sensitive situations professionally.

Partnership Development

• Cultivate and manage partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, and contractors to support service delivery.

• Develop new partnerships as required, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Administrative Duties

• Assist with monitoring staff rota, cover arrangements, and update internal MIS systems like INFORM.

• Handle basic rent account management tasks and assist building management at TR and ER when required.

• Ensure management decisions are executed effectively, participating in policy reviews and suggesting improvements.

ROLE PURPOSE

You will be part of a team helping to transform lives by enabling young people to manage their licenses and move towards greater independence within the community. This role requires knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs using trauma-informed approaches and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GENUINE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, it is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) that the post holder is female. This requirement is essential for the role due to the following reasons:

1. Privacy and Dignity: The role involves working closely with female residents during sensitive hours (evenings, nights, and weekends) where privacy and dignity are paramount. Female residents may feel uncomfortable or distressed receiving support from a male/male presenting worker during these times, especially in situations involving personal care or emotional vulnerability.

2. Safety and Trust: Many of the residents may have experienced trauma, including domestic violence or abuse, often perpetrated by males. The presence of a female manager helps create a safe and supportive environment where these individuals can feel secure and trust the support being provided

3. Legitimate Aim: The requirement ensures that the MPMT can maintain its commitment to providing gender-sensitive services tailored to the needs of vulnerable females. This aligns with the legitimate aim of protecting residents’ well-being and mental health.

Proportionality: The occupational requirement is a proportionate means of achieving the legitimate aim, as it directly addresses the needs of residents in a way that cannot be achieved through alternative measures, such as reallocating duties or employing male/male presenting staff for this role.

Night staff will be trained in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, including domestic violence and abuse, and understand the escalation routes within the partnership framework.

Safety and Security

· Ensure resident safety by implementing visitor procedures and preventing unauthorised access.

· Conduct health and safety checks and patrols around the building and exterior.

· Monitor CCTV, address antisocial behaviour, and complete relevant reports

ROLE PURPOSE

You will be part of a team helping to transform lives by enabling young people to manage their licenses and move towards greater independence within the community. This role requires knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs using trauma-informed approaches and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GENUINE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, it is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) that the post holder is female. This requirement is essential for the role due to the following reasons:

1. Privacy and Dignity: The role involves working closely with female residents during sensitive hours (evenings, nights, and weekends) where privacy and dignity are paramount. Female residents may feel uncomfortable or distressed receiving support from a male/male presenting worker during these times, especially in situations involving personal care or emotional vulnerability.

2. Safety and Trust: Many of the residents may have experienced trauma, including domestic violence or abuse, often perpetrated by males. The presence of a female manager helps create a safe and supportive environment where these individuals can feel secure and trust the support being provided.

3. Legitimate Aim: The requirement ensures that the MPMT can maintain its commitment to providing gender-sensitive services tailored to the needs of vulnerable females. This aligns with the legitimate aim of protecting residents’ well-being and mental health.

4. Proportionality: The occupational requirement is a proportionate means of achieving the legitimate aim, as it directly addresses the needs of residents in a way that cannot be achieved through alternative measures, such as reallocating duties or employing male/male presenting staff for this role.

This GOR has been carefully considered to ensure compliance with legal standards under the Equality Act 2010 and is applied only where it is essential for fulfilling the primary responsibilities of this specific role.

Demand for our specialist tutoring programmes for Children Looked After, those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) continues to increase and we are seeking a dedicated and effective Partnerships Account Manager to join our team and support the increased demand for our provision and the continued scaling of our organisation.

The Organisation

Equal Education is a social enterprise working to improve outcomes and narrow the attainment gap for disadvantaged and under-resourced learners, including Children Looked After, those with SEND, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. We have over 13 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with hundreds of Schools and Local Authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually. 

As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 400 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. Tutors provide pastoral care and work with pupils to increase engagement and attainment. What is the Role?

The Partnerships Account Manager will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. With a focus on building and sustaining long-term local council and school relationships, the Partnerships Account Manager will work closely with clients to understand their needs, expand our service offerings, and ensure the highest levels of satisfaction. The majority of our key client relationships are with local councils, so a knowledge of how they operate would be very useful. 

The post holder will have the opportunity to line manage junior member(s) of the team, who provide essential bid-writing and administrative support to facilitate efficient and effective client management.

This role would suit someone with proven ability to operate effectively in scaling organisations where processes are still being defined. This role suits someone who is adaptable, resilient, and confident working at pace amid change.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management

   • Proactively seek new business opportunities within assigned regions to grow the client base.

   • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with key clients, ensuring their evolving needs are met and service offerings are aligned.

   • Lead regular client review meetings to discuss progress, gather feedback, and identify additional service opportunities.

   • Manage internal relationships to ensure what matters to clients is communicated internally using the proper channels, to allow for effective delivery by our Operations teams. 

   • Maintain good internal stakeholder relationships with our Operations teams to ensure high client demands are balanced with our processes and team capacity. 

2. Strategic Planning and Development

   • Collaborate with Senior Leaders to develop strategies for client retention and growth.

   • Work closely with the wider partnerships team to align on strategic objectives and ensure seamless service delivery across functions.

   • Participate in client and industry events to represent the organisation, expand networks, and identify new business opportunities.

3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

   • Monitor client engagement, satisfaction levels, and service outcomes; produce regular progress reports for management.

   • Oversee tracking and analysis of client-related statistics to ensure targets are met and clients receive impactful, value-driven service.

   • Manage and track client data and prospect pipelines using CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.

   • Report to SLT on accounts, Tenders, Bids, client meetings on a regular basis

   • Be curious to explore our Salesforce system data, understanding and interpreting delivery and impact data 

4. Team Management and Support Coordination

   • Lead, mentor, and manage junior members of the team focused on bid application writing, tender management, and client-related administration.

   • Support direct reports in producing and reviewing high-quality application documents and responses that align with client requirements and enhance our partnership outcomes.

   • Provide oversight to ensure that administrative tasks are completed efficiently, supporting smooth client interactions and consistent follow-through.

   • Work with other area leaders, such as our ‘Allocations’ and Recruitment teams to ensure we can fulfil referrals

   • Foster a strong working relationship between the Partnerships team and Recruitment, to ensure our application strategy is informed by tutor availability. 

5. Bid Management and Process Improvement

   • Oversee the preparation and submission of tenders and bid applications, working closely with administrators to ensure high-quality and timely submissions.

   • Continuously review and improve internal processes to optimise bid management, client onboarding, and service delivery.

   • Report on bid submission performance, review client feedback to continuously improve. 

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Detailed knowledge of the UK Education Sector. 

• Experience working in the education sector or with local authorities, particularly in roles involving SEND or children’s services.

• Proven track record in client relationship management, with experience in sales or partnership development roles.

• Strong communication skills, particularly in face-to-face and telephone interactions, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-lasting relationships.

• Experience managing a small team, providing leadership, direction, and support to ensure high-performance standards.

• High level of empathy and commitment to supporting under-resourced and underserved communities.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet both short- and long-term deadlines effectively.

• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking client data, leads, and progress.

• Proactive, problem-solving mindset, able to address issues independently and provide client-focused solutions.

Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier and fairer Brent since 1979. We’ve developed and run successful housing, employment, health, advice, wellbeing and self-advocacy services. During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-25 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme.

Our income has substantially  increased from £382k in 19/20 to £1.71 million in 23-24. We’ve had to adapt quickly, developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.

Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly.
