As Philanthropy Officer, you’ll manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, cultivating long-term relationships and securing 5-figure donations to support Macmillan’s vital work. You’ll play a key role in engaging new donors through flagship initiatives like the Frontier Funders Club, which fuels innovation in cancer care.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Cultivating and stewarding relationships with high-net-worth individuals to secure and grow 5-figure gifts.
- Developing personalised engagement plans and delivering exceptional donor experiences.
- Identifying and researching new prospects, and collaborating across teams to diversify funding.
- Managing relationships with intermediaries such as CAF and NPT, ensuring smooth gift processing.
- Supporting senior volunteers and colleagues to uncover new donor opportunities.
- Contributing ideas and best practices to strengthen our philanthropy programme.
- Using insights and data to shape cultivation strategies and track progress via Raiser’s Edge CRM.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation including GDPR and tax-efficient giving.

What is the overall purpose of the role?
At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future.
We are ambitious to grow, to continue supporting more young people and influence positive change. To achieve this, we are seeking to appoint a Lead Worker for the Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller cohort to develop and deliver an innovative and progressive project in a safe, industrious, and supportive environment, working primarily with this community.
The project provides the following for Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller young people 11-19 years old including;
- A weekly girls’ workshop
- Targeted mentoring and support - helping them to stay in education, enrol in college, seek work opportunities, and access additional support services.
- Off-site holiday activities
Please note, work may extend to ages 8–21, subject to funding.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Plan and deliver an innovative, progressive programme of activities, developed in collaboration with young people and colleagues.
- Create safe, supportive spaces that foster personal and social development.
- Deliver 1 to1 and group support sessions through a variety of methods (in-person, phone, digital), providing advice, guidance, mentoring, and signposting to other services.
- Organise trips, workshops, and positive activities in line with the project delivery plan.
Project & Partnership Management
- Lead the day-to-day operational and administrative management of the project.
- Develop and manage partnerships with schools, local agencies, and trusted community stakeholders.
- Represent YAA at borough, London-wide, and partnership meetings to champion Traveller young people’s voices.
- Manage project budgets, expenditure records, and ensure assets and equipment are safeguarded.
- Supervise project staff, support workers, and facilitators, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with YAA standards.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Record attendance, case notes, and data consistently and accurately in the online database.
- Capture and share the impact of young people’s journeys through case studies, feedback, quotes, photos, and video.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for senior management and the Board of Trustees.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts by demonstrating impact and supporting applications to secure sustainable funding.

Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- A minimum Level 3 Youth Work qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong experience working with young people, ideally including the Traveller community.

- Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Confident communicator with strong literacy, report-writing, and presentation skills.

The Online Community is a peer to peer support network, provided by and for people living with cancer, facilitated by volunteer Community Champions in a safe online environment. As the only Macmillan platform with 24/7 support for people with cancer, open 365 days a year, and with over 80k members, the Online Community is all about fostering and facilitating connections between people, in an anonymous, safe way.
About the role
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of working within online groups and communities to join our Online Community team to deliver and support high quality services online to people affected by cancer, and other key Macmillan audiences as well as drive peer to peer engagement within the online community.
You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting high quality service to the online community, supporting members and volunteers, driving engagement between members, moderating posts and online content and responding to help requests, to create a safe and supportive environment for all our members and volunteers. This role covers opening hours of 8am-8pm, 7 days per week on shift rotation, some parts of which will be unsupervised.
About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience and knowledge of working within online communities and social media
- Good written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to communicate directly with community members and volunteers as well as internally at different levels of the organisation and to different technical abilities)
- Experience of developing, managing and moderating online content
- Good IT skills with experience of setting up web pages, including basic grasp of HTML, use of a CMS or social publishing platform and image optimisation

About the role:
This role is based in our Islington office with the flexibility of hybrid working, travel will also be required to other VS offices across London.
As a Children & Young People's Caseworker, you will be required to:
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments and ensure each CYP receives an individual tailored support package that fully meets their identified needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Provide one to one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.
- Effectively manage a caseload of different risk level cases of approx. 12-15 young people and provide specialist support to reduce the risk and increase safety
- Review the assessment of risk on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and immediate action is taken in respect of any CYP facing significant harm, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes as required given the legal framework relating to the protection of children and the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.
- To consult with and involve children and young people in making decisions about themselves and the development of the service.
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, with the intention of supporting children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse. Attend meetings as required.
- To advocate on behalf of children and young people with experience of domestic abuse to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met.
You will need to have the following essential skills:
- Experience of working directly with vulnerable children and young people aged 4 - 17, on a one to one basis, with a proven ability to work in creative and appropriate ways to engage with children and young people
- Experience with assessing risk and taking appropriate action to safeguard children and young people experiencing domestic abuse.
- An understanding of the current issues for children and young people experiencing crime, domestic abuse and relationship abuse
- Experience of delivering effective multi-agency and partnership work, including building relationships with statutory and voluntary CYP service providers
- Effective organisational skills, including experience with planning, prioritising, managing crises and a caseload, and maintaining accurate and confidential case records
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, databases, internet and Outlook

About the Role
The Refugee and Migrant Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Resettlement Department. As part of our mission to assist refugees and migrants in overcoming barriers to integration, this role will play a key part in helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new communities with confidence and independence.
RMC is a well-established charity with over 25 years of experience working with vulnerable refugees and migrants. We provide a range of services, including immigration advice, housing support, welfare assistance, and employment guidance. Our work ensures that refugees and migrants receive the necessary support to become equal citizens in the UK.
Purpose of the Role
The Family Support Worker will support newly arrived refugees and their families, enabling them to navigate the complex challenges of settling into the UK. Working closely with our multi-skilled resettlement team, you will deliver holistic support to refugees across a range of services, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, and employment. You will also play a key role in empowering families to build their confidence, independence, and long-term integration into the community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Client Support & Case Management:
- Manage a caseload of newly arrived refugee families, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
- Conduct home visits and orientation sessions to welcome clients to their new community and complete holistic needs assessments.
- Develop Personal Integration Plans for each household on a quarterly basis, helping them set goals for long-term independence.
- Coordinate support with external agencies and specialists to address clients’ needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Support families with housing, welfare benefits, education, healthcare, and employment.
- Assist with registration for healthcare services (GPs, dentists, opticians) and support with medical assessments.
- Facilitate access to education for children and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults.
- Provide guidance on immigration matters and ensure the correct paperwork is in place, including registering for Biometric Residence Cards and supporting welfare benefit applications.
- Ensure clients are financially supported by applying for relevant welfare benefits and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations as required.
Integration & Independence:
- Help clients develop the skills and knowledge to achieve independence, focusing on self-sufficiency and integration into the local community.
- Support families in securing suitable accommodation, liaising with landlords, housing providers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing orientation on UK systems, including financial rights and responsibilities, social services, and community resources.

The Housing Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) will be embedded within borough housing teams to facilitate the dual working that will ensure that survivors’ safety and housing needs are met. This includes:
· Close working relationships with Housing colleagues
· Provision of specialist knowledge relating to DA for Housing Officers and Homelessness Teams to draw on
· Specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis
· Provision of advocacy; supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
· Ongoing support from the IGVA from wider DA service, including access to group clinical supervision, casework management meetings, reflective practice sessions, one-to-one supervision from service manager
The Housing IGVA will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children. The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence).
The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal, housing and practical options that might increase their safety. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support especially around complex housing needs.
