The role
The Children and Young People’s Key Worker will undertake individual and group sessions with children, young people and parents/carers who are participating in our young people using harm programmes. The purpose of this role is to deliver sessions that support a young person and their parents/carers to address and change their harmful behaviour, ensuring they develop their understanding of abuse, as well as its impact on others. You will support the delivery of face to face and online sessions, including up to two evening group sessions per week.

As a Children and Young People’s Key Worker, you will work with clients on awareness raising, developing their motivation to change, ensuring accountability, and prioritising safety of the young person and those around them. .

About you

You’ll be confident in delivering programmes to children, young people and their parents/carers, assessing and managing dynamics in 121 and group formats. You’ll have experience in gaining young people’s trust and you’ll be confident addressing challenging and harmful behaviour. You’ll have direct experience of working therapeutically with a client group. You will also have experience of managing safeguarding issues.

Above all you will be comfortable with conflict managements, and you’ll bring a positive, solution focus attitude. We’d also love to hear from applicants who are fluent in speaking an additional language or have experience in supporting young people with complex needs.

• We are all remote workers but successfully support each other through weekly catch-up meetings, in-person meetings and a strong team ethos of collaboration and case discussion
• We support many other teams across the organisation involved in the welfare of our cats in care. These teams include our operational colleagues, the cat welfare team and our team of regional behaviourists

What we’re looking for in our Community Veterinary Surgeon:

• Experience of working in small animal veterinary practice with associated shelter/charity experience
• Sound, current knowledge of feline medicine, contextualised care, animal welfare, veterinary medicines legislation

About the role

Kinship Minds is a transformative programme that enhances the support we provide to kinship carers in England and Wales. Our goal is to build kinship carers' confidence and equip them with the knowledge and skills to support children in their care - especially in recognising and responding to early signs of mental health issues. 

We are at the beginning of our journey to embed therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches across all areas of service delivery. This includes 1-to-1 support, digital resources and training, and peer support networks. 

The Strategic Trauma-Informed Practice Manager will lead this transition, helping us move from a trauma-sensitive organisation on a journey that becomes trauma-aware, trauma-informed, and ultimately trauma-responsive.

This strategic and hands-on role will help Kinship strengthen its therapeutic offer and build the confidence and capacity of staff and kinship carers to understand trauma and the impact it has, and provide strategies to support. We are particularly interested in experience in developing trauma-informed parenting training and resources.

The postholder will play a key role in developing and manualising our trauma-informed approach across core services: Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, our Advice Service, and Peer Support Service. They will work with subject matter experts to develop trauma-informed approaches, toolkits and resources into everyday service delivery – based on the needs of kinship carers and their families.

You will need to be able to step into this role quickly, bringing your experience of building and developing trauma-informed approaches in complex services. You will have strong leadership capabilities, able to work at pace autonomously with creativity and dynamism.  You will need to have excellent attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and leading Kinship’s trauma-informed strategy, ensuring the implementation of trauma-informed principles across all service delivery (for example, using Dr Karen Treisman’s approach). 
• Leading the development and manualisation of trauma-informed practice across Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, the Advice Service, and the Peer Support Service. This includes resources, approach and content.
• Supporting organisational development to embed trauma-informed values in practice, culture, policy, and leadership, working with our Head of People and Culture.
• Developing reflective practice approach to support managers to staff and volunteer resilience particularly across services. This could include a ‘train the trainer’ approach.

The role

As Head of Operations, you will lead all operational functions of Foxglove. You will ensure that our finance, HR, legal compliance, fundraising, systems and internal processes enable the organisation to carry out its mission effectively. You’ll work across Foxglove and closely with leadership, as well as with external partners to build a resilient and well-governed organisation, able to manage growth and complexity while staying mission driven. ·Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with proven experience in financial oversight and reporting

ROLE SUMMARY

This post holder will be a key member of our delivery team working across a portfolio of our inspiring projects and programmes that support young people to develop their skills, empower their potential and influence change.

We are looking for a fun and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and time management skills, and someone with an understanding of the issues facing young people and how these can be addressed through our programmes.

• Delivering engaging sessions, workshops, and events for young people, both in-person and occasionally online.

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with young people, promoting active participation.
• Working with the Youth Leads UK team to plan, prepare, and deliver activities.

The charity was founded in October 2008 by a small group of 30 families. Today, DSUK is a registered charity helping nearly 600 families with support, education, and research services, underpinned by a world-class Medical Advisory Board.

They are now seeking a Head of Family Services, a newly created senior role to enable DSUK to drive forward with the implementation of their five-year strategic plan, including supporting and empowering families to access the support to which they are entitled in living with a complex and life limiting condition.

You will have demonstrable expertise and advanced training all aspects of safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults. The Independent Monitoring Service is seeking to recruit professionals with experience of working with children and vulnerable adults to the role of Independent Visitor.

We are looking for individuals all across Greater Manchester areas, including but not limitted to: Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Central Manchester, Bolton.

The role of Independent Visitors is to provide visiting services on behalf of NYAS which are consistent with the National Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, Residential Special School Standards, Welsh National Minimum Standards, Health and Social Care Standards Scotland and CQC regulations. The main duties are:

• To undertake monthly visits to identified homes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant NYAS manager.

These visits will be:

Regulation 44 visits to residential children’s homes, short breaks and secure units.

Regulation 25 visits to residential family centres.

Care Quality Commission visits to residential adult homes.

Care Inspectorate Wales regulation 8 visits to residential children’s homes.

RSS20 visits to residential special schools.

Health and social care standards Scotland residential children’s homes.

Monitoring visits to unregulated provision.

• To undertake all tasks as identified by the relevant NYAS manager, during the visits and thereafter, in order to fulfil all aspects of the role.
• To provide factual reports within set timescales as required by the relevant NYAS manager.

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks and also knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance relating to children, young people and adults at risk particularly those in residential care.

Candidates must have experience of working within a social or health care organisation, safeguarding and experience of managing complex relationships across a diverse field, e.g. OFSTED inspectors, social workers, residential care workers and registered managers, health care professionals.

Candidates should also possess a professional qualification in a related field, i.e. social work, residential care, health care professional, advocacy or youth work.

This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.

You will also be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity. You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.
