About the role
Our Welfare Officers provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family. As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.
Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.
Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you will use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.
You will play an active role within the community, promoting the service through the delivery of presentations and representing the service at public engagement events. You will also work closely with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, health, education, civilian agencies, charities and other military organisations to ensure the best outcome for the service user.

2024 marks 34 years since SSAFA began delivering an independent non-statutory, and confidential service, for the Royal Air Force community across the UK, and this is an exciting time to be joining as we were recently successful in our bid to continue delivering this service.

About you
To thrive in this role you will have relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people. You will be able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver presentations with confidence.
You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
There will be some travel required and therefore you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own car.

This role as Senior Practitioner within our Domestic Abuse services will provide housing advice and advocacy support to LGBTQ+ people who require housing support to leave a domestic abuse situation or require longer-term resettlement. The role will provide direct line management to our specialised domestic abuse case workers delivering our services across PAN London. The mission of Stonewall Housing’s Advice and Advocacy team is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options (within the statutory housing system or through private sector resources) in order for them to have somewhere safe to live. This team assesses service users’ housing needs, provides them with immediate advice and signposting, and, where necessary, provides advocacy casework to ensure service users can access what they are entitled to.

Main duties
Direct Line Management
- To draw up a supervision agreement with each member of staff, setting the toneof your working relationship and establishing a rapport.
- To give consistent, regular support to direct reports through supervision, case fileaudits and case reviews according to policy.
- To provide an annual appraisal, setting goals for staff members and ensuring theyhave a solid understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
- To identify any poor practice and discuss it directly with the member of staff witha view to making improvements and achieving operational excellence.
- To establish a leadership role in the team, providing support, monitoring anddevelopment.
Casework Sessions
- To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our Advice and Advocacyservice and to provide proactive support to these service users who aresometimes hard to engage.
- To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regardsto risk associated with their case.
- To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informeddecisions.
- To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the Advice and Advocacy service todevelop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
- To have regular casework sessions to provide structured support, in relation toHousing specific issues.
- To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive thenecessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independentliving skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health, and accessmeaningful occupation of their time.
Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies
- To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocatewhere necessary.
- To support service users to contact local authorities, and voluntary and privatesector landlords to report anti social behaviour issues and advocate wherenecessary.
- To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, whereappropriate, and advocate where necessary.
Other duties
- To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work.
- To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information.
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation tofunders and other key areas.
- To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals andtraining.
- To act in accordance with the organisation’s Diversity Policy, Health and SafetyPolicy, Code of Conduct and all other corporate policies and procedures.
- To act in the best interests of Stonewall Housing and its service users at all times.
- To promote Stonewall Housing at external meetings and community events.
- To carry out any other duties commensurate with the aims and objectives of thepost that may be required.
Your experience
- Knowledge of Housing legislation relating to all relevant sectors

What will you be doing?
As a Service Manager at Hft, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those we support and you will help the Regional Service Managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Carers Information Service as an Advice and Assessment Worker.
The Carers Information Service was established in 1997 and is part of the John Whitgift Foundation. We are a small, friendly team dedicated to providing free advice, information and support to carers in Croydon.
Offering a wide range of services including health and wellbeing activities, carer's assessments, respite care, bereavement support, digital and printed publications, meeting room hire and much more. We are supported by Croydon Council and work closely with colleagues across the borough from the voluntary and community sector, NHS, and local authority.
As an Advice and Assessment Worker your main responsibilities will be to focus on the Carers Assessment Service in line with the John Whitgift Foundation, Croydon Council and Care Act requirements. This will also include giving advice, information and support to adult carers who are looking after a relative, partner, friend or neighbour of someone who needs help due to illness, disability, or old age.
Based in the ground floor drop-in service at the Carers Support Centre, alongside other Advice Workers, you will provide this service via email, telephone, online and face-to-face. The ability to work well in a team is essential!
This role is for 35 hours per week.

Job Description
While no day is ever the same, broadly speaking your role will fall into the following areas:

• Recruit, train, and manage the staffing of the programmes.
• Oversee funding and programme management for the whole of the service.
• Lead, manage and develop the Street Pastors programme based from the Malt Cross in Nottingham
• Ensure financial sustainability of all the youth services provisions including developing relationships with funding bodies, local authorities, commissioners, and schools.
• Grow and sustain fee for service provisions, sourcing, applying for and monitoring funding and securing tenders with the corporate funding team.
• Quality Assure all Youth Service Delivery to ensure that all programmes meet or exceed DofE regulations relating to any future Alternative School provision
• Act as Designated Lead Safeguarding Officer for the Youth and Families Service
You will need to be equally skilled at relationship and rapport building as you will be managing complex budgets including monitoring very diverse income and expenditure streams, managing cashflow, forecasting and annual budget setting.
There is a level of flexibility needed in this role, especially as we move into the growth phase, where you are able to support with the running of individual sessions as we embed new programmes and staff. Whilst this is a role predominately to work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, it would be foolish to suggest there won’t be a need for flexibility outside of these times. Of course, there will be flexibility for time off in lieu and or to adjust your working day to fit around the sessions. We are looking for someone who wholeheartedly shares our values and vision for high quality youth provision and will be dedicated and committed to providing the very best we can to our local communities.
Being a car driver with access to your own vehicle would be a significant advantage as you will cover a huge geographical patch and you will be expected to travel between sites in the course of your week.

About this key role
As our specialist worker you will provide peer supervisory support to the team within the wider hospital based services, which includes deputising for the Senior Caseworker, and supporting the Data Coordinator and Senior Caseworker with the collation of information and data for project monitoring purposes. We will also count on you to develop and maintain strong relationships with clinicians and hospital staff, while also identifying onward referral pathways with other services in the hospital such as CAMHS, IDVA, COMPASS and other statutory and voluntary sectors in the community.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will also help to identify and assess young victims of violence and to provide support, advice and advocacy for both them and their families as they plan to be discharged from hospital back into the community. You will produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments and deliver a holistic support service that includes practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, appearing in court, DIY work and cleaning.
What we are looking for
- Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families.
- Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people and establishing links to further the aims of a project.
- Experience of using support plans to enable people to successfully access support services.
- Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people.
- Proven experience of working in a high intensity environment.
- A working knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area.
- First-class interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

The Young Women’s Keyworker will work with young women aged 15-24 to provide specialist 1:1 support to those referred into the service. About You:
To be successful as the Young Women’s Keyworker you will:
Bring an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the Criminal Justice System. Have a strong understanding of the context and challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic violence, mental health, and sexual health.
Bring a significant experience of working with young women experiencing issues related to offending and experience of community engagement, advocacy and support work with young people and have proven practical experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport. You will demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, developing and maintaining strong constructive working relationships.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner you will provide flexible, responsive, and bespoke mental health and wellbeing support to UASC young people.
Location: The role will be primarily based in Arnold, however there will also be travel across Nottinghamshire and potentially further afield depending on the needs of the service.
The successful candidate's must haves:
- A relevant qualification (Diploma Level)
- Evidence of continuing professional development in a field relevant to Children and Young Person mental health.
- Experience in supporting children and young people in Person Centred Therapy, Integrative, Behavioural, EMDR or Counselling.
- An understanding of legislation and policies in relation to Safeguarding young people.
- Experience of offering mental health support, consultation and interventions to young people.
Desirable:
- Registration with a Professional Body such as BACP, HCPC, UKCP or NMC
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance on mental health issues.
