In delivering the role, you will be responsible for:

- reflects Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs), Trauma Informed approaches and restorative practices

- identifies, maps and encourages the strengths and talents of each young person, enabling them to acquire the skills they need to lead independent and fulfilling lives

-- Leadership and People Management: Lead and manage a team, recruiting and inducting new staff, and supporting their performance to ensure high standards of service at all times

-- Partnerships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partner organisations that add value to the core, commissioned service (or have the potential to) attending relevant multi-disciplinary meetings as needed

-- General: Be a member of the ‘on call’ rota to provide out of hours management support to projects in the wider locality

Our Brighton & Hove Services provide supported accommodation for 50 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. Lansworth House is one of our 24-hour supported housing projects offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged of 16- 25, with 20 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals. 

In delivering the role, you will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will work with the Managers and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk.

Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. There is a small amount of lone working, but you will get to know the team and project, along with extensive training prior to starting on a rota.

Mind in Croydon is a charity concerned with the welfare of people with mental health problems living in the London Borough of Croydon and the surrounding areas. Mind in Croydon delivers Mental Health Transformation Program services alongside Croydon BME Forum, these include Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space and Mental Health Personal Independence Coordinators. Other services include Recovery Space, Advocacy, Active Minds, Carers Support, Peer Support In-Reach, Social Networking, Counselling, and an Information Service.

This exciting role will manage the provision of a non-clinical Recovery Space (crisis café) funded by South London Partnership Commissioning. This project operates in the day and evenings, people are referred by our Trusted Assessors in various Teams such as Croydon University Hospital, Psychiatric Liaison, Assessment and Liaison, Croydon College, Home Treatment Team and others.

The aim of the service is to divert people, who would be better supported elsewhere, away from Accident and Emergency (A&E) and towards services that can support with their immediate crisis within the Borough of Croydon. The Recovery Space Service Manager leads this service which is non-clinical but a warm and welcoming setting to support and hold individuals during the day and evening. The Recovery Space service referrals will not be accepted after 10pm for attendance at night.

The role will work closely at senior operational level with external partners, clinical, commissioning, and voluntary sector organisations to plan, develop and promote the highest quality service. They will manage a team of nine staff, three are Crisis Workers, operating a day service, one outreach crisis worker also operating during the day and five Recovery Space Workers in the evening.  The role will need to produce reports, develop, and implement policies and procedures in line with best practice and to ensure the service is making a difference to people’s lives.  The role will work with other service managers including those managers within the Transformation services to ensure a One Team approach to provide an effective and efficient service for clients.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Wellbeing Support Worker to join our Flintshire Wellbeing service. This role does not provide direct basic care but is focused on motivating and supporting individuals to identify their own goals as well as developing self-management strategies to improve their health and wellbeing and maintain their independence.

Olallo House in central London offers accommodation and specialist support to street homeless men and women, victims of modern-day slavery or trafficking, and homeless patients undergoing TB treatment on discharge from hospital. 

We are looking to recruit a Service Manager to ensure that the people living within the service have their rights protected, are supported to achieve their life potential, and are included in making decisions about their lives at every available opportunity.

A core part of the role is to deliver exceptional day to day management and leadership to a team providing support to people who might have a Mental Health diagnosis, dual diagnosis who have experienced homelessness, TB or other complex health conditions. In addition, they may also have been part of the criminal justice system.

The Service Manager is responsible for maintaining regulatory and contractual requirements, whilst promoting outstanding practice, through leading by example.

Currently located in Central London this role will be responsible for further developing the service over the next 12 months to meet the needs of local authorities and ICBs. This may result in registration with the CQC if this requires the provision of regulated activities.

We are currently recruiting support workers who will be able to work on a shift pattern that will include a rolling rota with a combination of days, evenings, sleep in nights and weekends including public holidays. We are currently recruiting support workers who will work on a rota in our supported accommodation for young people aged 16-19 who are primarily refugees and asylum seekers and in the care of the local authority. These young people are preparing to live independently and we offer practical and emotional support to them.

The role requires you to record support to prepare reports, for the commissioning authority using IT as required. Familiarity with Googles docs and sheets is required.

The role of the support worker is to help young people to develop their independent living skills. This can involve being out and about with the young people – going shopping, attending interviews and appointments, support to attend college, helping them to know the area and its resources and, in the home, helping them to cook, clean and develop self-care skills. The evening / night shift is focussed more on tasks that can be completed in the placements or in groups such as cooking, cleaning, support with homework, film nights, recreational activities. Some creativity is encouraged to engage and inspire the young people.

 Alongside this you will have some responsibility for light household tasks to keep the house tidy and organised as well as undertaking health and safety checks. The time in the morning will be spent ensuring that the young people who need to be up and out are ready to attend college.

Some experience of working with young people, night working and lone working will be a big advantage.

The role is a temporary role (6-12 months) to help direct and support changes of financial systems, data control processes and to help ensure the current team, including our current Finance Manager, are supported with the implementation of a more up to date and effective way of working.

Main Responsibilities :

· Provide full review of current financial controls, identify and implement a new financial I.T./software system suited to service needs.

· Oversee the procurement, implementation and transition to the new financial I.T./software system once it is identified.

· The post holder will assist with the strategic planning and budget preparation for the organisation as well as maintaining the charity's financial accounting systems.

· To provide support to the Finance Manager by overseeing the preparation of the organisation’s accounts for audit in accordance with current accounting good practice and Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP)

· Lead, develop and support a small dedicated finance and administration team

· Long term financial planning and assisting the CEO with succession planning in the finance area of the service, including creation of a financial risk register.

· Assist in setting the annual budget and report on performance.

· Oversee timely production by the Finance manager of monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts.

· Ensure a robust financial control environment and ensure all treasury and Financial Governance management are in place, suitable and effective.

· The post holder will have responsibility to ensure the organisation is compliant with legal and financial duties associated with those of a Charitable Company reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Trustees.

· Provide proactive assessment of opportunities to deliver efficiencies in collaboration with department heads where necessary.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. £24,560.25 per annum, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Pelham road Service will be 5 new self-contained flats, for customers with learning disabilities, Autism and Complex needs, and we are looking to build a staff team with an excellent value base to support the customer to build their new life and develop their skills as an independent person

What you'll do:

This is not an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required and is subject to change in accordance with the needs of the customers and Look Ahead. As we have other support services locally, we may also require you to undertake support duties at other locations, subject to agreement at interview stage.

Your role will include:

* Supporting the customer to undertake a full timetable of preferred activities including sport and leisure activities, attending community groups, visiting local amenities, and introducing them to new activities to expand their horizons and networks;
* Developing the customer's independent living skills and involving them in all aspects of maintaining and developing their home, including cooking, shopping, cleaning and decorating;
* Enabling the customer to keep up with the important people in their life and to meet new people with shared interests;
* Supporting the customer to communicate their wants and needs, and communicating with them in a person-centred way;
* Supporting the customer to manage their anxieties and frustrations, using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches;
* Collating a range of behavioural data and essential paperwork to be analysed within our local management structure;
* Driving the customer to activities using the customer's vehicle, in rotation with the wider team;
* Communicating with family members and a range of other key stakeholders including social work, psychology and commissioning teams;
* Acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care & Support plus those specific to the service including any statutory requirements;
* Consistently reviewing the customer's life goals and their progress towards achieving them, in partnership with them and those important to them;
* Supporting the customer with personal care;
* Reporting any observations relating to customer welfare;
* Maintaining records as required at the project;
* Participating in team meetings/reviews, support planning, risk management and the general development of the service;
* Undertaking any other duties as requested by management

What you'll bring:

Essential:

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with customers with care and support needs including Learning disabilities.
- Driving licence and a willingness to drive as part of support duties

Desirable:

- Has some experience in Trauma Informed care
- Has some experience in working with people with Mental health

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

Salary: £31,200 - £34,736
