Job description

Brand new opportunity for someone looking to build a career in fundraising and gain experience across all areas of the sector. 

The Fundraising and CEO Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the smooth running of the Foundation, managing essential fundraising administration, working in partnership with the Fundraising Lead to secure new donors, ensuring excellent stewardship for existing donors and event organisation.

Special Stars Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families across Hull and East Yorkshire by providing a diverse calendar of creative and social activities. Also, we offer a range of support, training and advice services for parent carers.

The charity is ready to move forwards, to expand its services with a proactive, professional internal team of which the Fundraising and CEO assistant will be an important part.

Hours and Salary

This is a part-time role working Tuesday to Friday (28 hours per week) £18,214.56 (£26,020.80 FTE). Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Location

Based at Special Stars Foundation, 3rd Floor, Princes Quay, Hull with occasional travel in Hull and East Yorkshire. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support in fundraising materials preparation and distribution
  • Provide support for fundraising initiatives, campaigns & events during the year (with a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends to fulfil this function)
  • To work collaboratively with the team and support the Fundraising Lead in fundraising activity to help grow income to £175k+ per year.
  • Support in writing funding proposals and donor communications.
  • Support the CEO in administrative tasks such as, but not limited to, managing invoices and day to day general enquiries to ensure the Foundation operates smoothly.
  • Be the vital 'front of house' contact, skilfully managing calls, documents, and ensuring efficient communication among internal and external stakeholders

Our ideal candudate will be someone with...

  • a proven track record as a Personal Assistant or Fundraising Assistant experience
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability and confidence to write compelling supporter communications. 
  • the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and friendly manner.
  • good knowledge of and experience of working with CRM databases including the collection and storage of data in line with GDPR.
  • strong IT skills, including MS 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, One Drive etc.) Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.   
  • excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in data management and communications.
