Hounslow Young People is Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25 in Hounslow. The Service encompasses a mix of units across six sites supporting 57 vulnerable young people and 19 teen parents.

What you'll do:

* Ensure the welfare of customers providing emotional and practical support to customers who are in distress, in crisis or require medical assistance such as emergency first aid or the intervention of medical professionals
* Remain calm and professional when dealing with emergencies and incidents following the reporting procedures and completing the required paperwork
* Ability to work empathically and compassionately with customers who present with complex needs such as mental health, substance misuse, safeguarding and physical health support needs
* Ensure the safety and welfare of customers by implementing and monitoring the visitors' procedure, preventing unauthorised access to the service
* Conduct health and safety checks and patrols around the building and exterior reporting repairs and any Health and Safety issues
* To undertake patrols and security checks of the building and exterior, monitoring CCTV, addressing any antisocial behaviour and completing the relevant reports
* Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
* Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
* Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
* Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
* Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards

When a family member has a spinal cord injury, it can be difficult to acknowledge and accept that their injury will affect you too.

You might find it difficult to express and share how you have been affected by these events, especially to your loved one with the injury. Overwhelming feelings of guilt, helplessness, confusion and isolation are very common. 

Back Up’s Family Support team are there to help. Right from the point of injury, our Family Support Coordinators work together with the family and the injured person to create their own ‘Family Plan’ - making sure they have access to information and support throughout the rehabilitation journey.

As a Family Support Coordinator, you will build relationships with professionals to encourage referrals and manage a caseload. • Preparation of monthly accounts using Quickbooks Intuit (QB) software 

• Preparation of payroll journals in QB in respect of the UK salaries

This part-time role is 100% working from home, with flexible working hours. The role demands circa 10 hours per week and pay is competitive and dependent on experience. 

The Role (30hrs per week)

· To provide day to day management and supervision of our remote Support Team, providing guidance and support to deliver appropriate information and advice for our mums and families.

· Provide casework support to Mummy’s Star families.

· Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement consistent processes and ensure appropriate training and development for the Support Team.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will manage the Support Team at Mummy’s Star. More specifically you will be responsible for:

Support Team Management (50%)

• Provide quality support, leadership, development and line management
• Oversee the delivery of individual, tailored support for families

· Regular review and assessment of caseload including co-ordinating weekly caseload meetings and management of new grant application flow to Trustees.

· Work with the support team to regularly monitor, evaluate and report on the support provided by Mummy’s Star.

· Act as Lead Professional in complex cases if required.

· Working with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure the wider team has appropriate resources and support around wellbeing

· Complying with the charity’s administration, monitoring and financial systems

· Working in close partnership with health care professionals, charities, and other key stakeholders

· Work with the Operations Manager to develop new engagement tools for families to improve accessibility.

· Assist the team to co-ordinate the Ask the Expert events and other resources

· Contribute to, and support the development of, the charity locally, regionally, and nationally

Information and Support Casework Delivery (50%)

· Receiving referrals and assessing needs of families from contact via self referral (post, email, online and social media) and third party referrals (health care professionals, families and charities)

· Providing families with the appropriate support based on their needs, this will include 121 emotional support, signposting to financial/practical support and peer support via our online forum.

· Ensuring support to mums and families is reviewed at regular intervals. 

· Maintain and monitor the online peer support forum.

Other Duties and information about the role

· The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as required to support the charity and beneficiaries.

· Some evening and weekend work may be required but time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given for this.

· A DBS check will be required for this role.

Do you have experience working with families and children aged 0-13, a good understanding of the needs of vulnerable families and a relevant vocational or academic qualification?

Welcare is recruiting an experienced Family Support Worker to deliver a broad-based preventative support service for families with children up to the age of 13 in partnership with schools, churches, the local authority and other agencies, in the London boroughs of Bromley and Greenwich.

You will be delivering practical and emotional support to enhance the life chances of children who have experienced domestic abuse and social isolation through one-to-one support and group work programmes.  The post requires working with families in person and online remote working.  The office base is in Community House, Bromley.

General Duties:

1. To promote the programmes of work and manage the external and internal referral process including the assessment of need, risk and safeguarding concerns.

2. Hold a caseload of 4 families delivering “whole family” or targeted interventions.

3. Lead and facilitate community group work programmes including 6 #CapeAbility in Schools programme which aims to build resilience and self-esteem for children in key stage 2.

4. Lead and facilitate groupwork programmes for parents such Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities and Child Overcoming Domestic Abuse.

5. Safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults you work with directly and take appropriate action if escalation is needed.

6. To provide practical and emotional support to families or advocacy and signposting to specialist and universal services where appropriate.

7. Ensuring that the voices and views of children and young people are sought, heard and represented appropriately.

8. Attend designated meetings with multi-agency professionals and act as lead professional where appropriate to support the Team Around the Child/Family or Early Help Assessment (EHA).

The Client Support Worker targets those who need the Foodbank on a repeated basis and offers a package of support to address the complex and often overwhelming challenges and crisis situations they are facing.  You will work with clients to give time, advice, advocacy and emotional support as well as providing personalised support.  This could include assisting them to access help with finances, debt, social isolation and other issues and connect them with other local projects which may be relevant. You will also work closely with the referral agencies who issue Foodbank vouchers.

Principal Duties and responsibilities to include:

•  Client Engagement: Sit down with visitors and engage in conversation with them.  Offer a listening ear and signpost clients, as required, to further support using your knowledge of the local environment. 

• Client Support:  Develop individual plans for clients to assist them through next steps.  Act as an advocate where appropriate, assisting with phone calls, form filling and appointments.  Accompany clients to other projects as required.

•  Administration: Understand and complete the administrative processes for referrals and applying for various grants

• Signposting: Proactively explore the local support offering, build relationships and add useful resources to the signposting folder and disseminate to the centre teams regularly

• Centre Culture:  Work alongside the Centre Coordinators and volunteers to make foodbank visitors feel welcome

• Volunteer Support: Support volunteers in centres to increase their skills and knowledge

• Community experience: previous experience of casework and working with people with challenging situations.  An understanding of safeguarding.

Bromley Borough Foodbank (the “Foodbank”, “BBF” or “we”) was founded in 2011 by Christian churches as a foodbank serving those in need in the London Borough of Bromley. We are a member of the Trussell Trust network of over 400 UK foodbanks.

Our location

• Support clients contacting Adviceline for information, support and advice

• Identify key information about the problem including time limits, key dates and any requirement for urgent advice or action (using Citizens Advice information, scripts and other diagnostic tools, as appropriate).

• Using information resources, tools and knowledge of local and national advice support services, identify and agree the appropriate next step, taking into consideration the client’s ability to self-help, the complexity of the problem, the potential consequences and local resources.

• Refer clients appropriately (both internally and externally) in accordance with clients’ needs, following agreed protocols.

• Provide excellent customer care and support to anyone who calls, dealing professionally and empathetically with challenging, emotional or distressed customers

• Use IT and client management systems effectively to book appointments, send information, make referrals and record actions. 

• Work with the  wider charity team and other organisations to ensure clients are supported with related advice issues
