The Chief Officer will be responsible for the direct management of Headway North Staffs, ensuring services are delivered in line with contracts and funder requirements, in order to achieve high quality outcomes for service users.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring appropriate governance and compliance with charity commission requirements and our obligations to our funders.  Leadership experience in the charity sector or in a service organisation supporting people with disabilities is essential.

Rays of Sunshine exits to brighten the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting magical wishes and providing ongoing support within the community. In this role you will be responsible for working across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts and foundations, with a prominent focus on supporting with account management of existing partnerships and developing our pipeline of prospects. The charity has a history of success in these areas and we would love to have someone join the team to build upon this success.

Ideally the candidate would have existing experience in corporate partnerships, but we are open to candidates with experience in one or more of the fundraising disciplines mentioned above, with a willingness to develop their skills and experience, through a supportive, coaching and a mentoring leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

Partnerships

• Support with creating proposals and pitches to secure Brand, Corporate and Commercial Partnerships, with a strong focus on shared purpose and mutual benefit, to create successful long term strategic partnerships.
• Support with relationship management of current partners of Rays of Sunshine, ensuring they have materials to aid their fundraising.
• To manage the input of corporate partnership data on the CRM system (currently Donorfy).
• Manage the updates to the corporate pipeline master document, ensuring appropriate actions are met within deadline.
• Supporting the Corporate Volunteer Researcher to undertake the necessary research to support our pipeline of approaches.

Philanthropy

• Creating supporter updates and reports to demonstrate the impact of funding received from our Patrons and Major Donors, providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.
• Provide support with the event planning of major donor events, and attend in person to provide support of events on the day. 

Trusts and Foundations

•  Support with research and the successful completion applications to secure donations from a pipeline of identified Trusts and Foundations

Stewardship

•  Identifying new opportunities to create wow moments for donors and provide excellent stewardship of all major donors and partnerships.

General

• General administrative duties, including record meeting notes and actions, following up with partners, sending out of promotional materials, monitoring and responding to email enquiries, and taking telephones calls.
• Any other duties to support the success of the fundraising team.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate a tailored stewardship journey for major donors and legacy pledges, providing personalised communications and resources to foster continued support.

About You

• Minimum of three years of experience in the charity or third sector.

• Good understanding of UK GDPR regulations.
• Familiarity with fundraising functions and project management.

• Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication.

· Providing a customer focused service where we help to empower residents to sustain their tenancies, delivering both welfare benefits advice and money guidance support.

· Financial Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance to older residents on financial matters, including budgeting, debt management, banking, and money-saving strategies.

· Benefits and Entitlements: Assist residents in understanding and accessing relevant benefits, allowances, and grants, providing support with applications, appeals, and assessments.

· Financial and Support Assessments: Conduct comprehensive financial assessments with older individuals to determine their income, expenditure, and financial needs, identifying areas for improvement or intervention.

· Budget Planning: Help residents develop realistic budgets and financial plans, considering their income, expenses, and financial goals, and offering ongoing support to ensure their successful implementation.

· Financial Literacy: Organise workshops, training sessions, or one-on-one coaching to enhance residents' financial literacy skills, empowering them to make informed financial decisions.

· Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of financial assessments, support provided, and outcomes achieved, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, and producing reports as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

· Extensive knowledge of a wide range of benefits (including welfare reform)

· Experience of working in advisory role with the public

· Experience of handling case work and referring to relevant organisations

· Understanding the principals of budgeting for low-income families

Ways of Working:

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter).  This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team and is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building.

Overview of Role:

As a Support Worker, you will be working with young people aged 12-25 years old who have experience of self-harm. Within that age group, you will predominantly be working with young people under 18. The post would suit an experienced support worker, preferably with knowledge of the issues experienced by young people who are trans / non-binary.

You will play a key role in providing them with support and advocacy both on a one to-one basis and within a group setting; working with them to develop their emotional skills which will allow them to cope more effectively with the difficulties in their lives. The nature of the work means role that the successful candidate must focus on inclusivity for the young people.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in working with young people aged 12-25 and will enjoy the challenge of working with adolescents in difficult circumstances. You will need to be able to work within a non-discriminatory framework, ensuring the services are provided in a qualitative, responsive, and accessible manner.

The Amber Project exists to support any young person (aged 14-25) in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who has experience of self-harm. With our Constellation element working with young people aged 12-25. Since The Amber project was established in 2002 individual support and creative
workshops have been key elements of our work with young people.

Salary: £13,406 per annum (£26,812.00 per annum FTE).

Hours:  20 hours per week. Working pattern to be agreed with the line manager but will include late afternoons and early evenings to facilitate meeting with young people outside of school hours and attending workshops. Occasional weekends.

Pension: Church Army is an auto enrolment pension employer. You will be assessed under pension auto enrolment criteria.

Annual Leave: 132 hours, inclusive of bank holidays (264 hours FTE).

Contract:  Part-time, Fixed Term - expected for 12 months.

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Our Brighton & Hove Services provide supported accommodation for 50 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. Lansworth House is one of our 24-hour supported housing projects offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged of 16- 25, with 20 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals. 

In delivering the role, you will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will work with the Managers and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk.

Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. There is a small amount of lone working, but you will get to know the team and project, along with extensive training prior to starting on a rota.
