Main responsibilities 

• You will build on the excellent foundations laid by the outgoing Community Fundraiser to raise our profile amongst our neighbours and with local organisations 
• You will proactively recruit new supporters, build our individual supporter base and develop regular stewardship and communications 
• You will offer high-quality relationship management and donor care to supporters including providing fundraising materials, encouragement and support to maximise their fundraising potential, as well as ensuring donors are recognised and thanked for their contribution 
• You will develop and deliver fundraising operational plans, ensure good fundraising practice and messaging is embedded throughout the entire organisation.

Head of Finance

 £71,000 – £75,000 per annum plus benefits, depending on experience.

Location – Hybrid working split between the Foundation’s office in London and home.

We’re the Football Foundation – the Premier League, The FA and Government's charity that helps communities improve their local football facilities through football grants. This means better games and more players - helping transform communities where demand is greatest, and impact will be strongest. To help us with this important mission, we currently have a vacancy for a Head of Finance who will be able to use their professional experience and accountancy qualification to help us transform lives and strengthen communities through grassroots football.

The role

As our Head of Finance, reporting into the CFO, you’ll lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. You will direct the day-to-day operations of the finance team, actively manage financial planning and forecasting, and develop high level models to support strategic and operational decision making. You will also input into strategy on a functional and organisational level. 

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football or understand about football and sports facilities to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

Here’s some of the experience and expertise you’ll need for the role:

· A professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.

· Prior experience in a senior level finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands on experience in delivering business partnering.

· Significant experience of financial planning and analysis.

· Commercial or charity accounting experience, including the preparation of statutory accounts, and preferably SORP compliance.

· Experience leading an end-to-end external audit process.

· Familiarity developing, improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.

You’ll also have good knowledge of the legislative, tax and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector. Most of all we want someone who reflects who we are as an organisation.

What can we offer you?

The salary band for this role is £71,000 – £75,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

You will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years), plus additional time off to volunteer. The Role of a Move-on coordinator / Resettlement worker is to work closing with housing officer to provide housing related support to customers ready to move - on. Liaising with Housing solution Team in RBKC Borough Council to establish housing assessment and applications to achieve the objective. RBKC CNS core move-on pathway is through PRS, MOP and other suitable options to be consider while supporting customers move-on options. The move-on coordinator will work with customers in a floating setting when required to ensure there are settled when they move.

Stories and Media Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced storyteller to show the impact of live music in healthcare through the voices of the charity’s diverse community. The Role

You will build trust with people the charity is sharing a story on behalf of and foster lasting relationships. You will manage media contacts, seeking out relevant opportunities in the press and work with partners on features.

This is a brand-new role that will play a vital role in our team to ensure health professionals across the UK have a better awareness and understanding of pancreatic cancer and the complex supportive care needs of those affected. • Co-ordinate the delivery of our patient-facing webinars, working in collaboration with the support services team and nurses.
• Support with the co-ordination of our annual in-person Research Forum; parliamentary events and health improvement events; and engagement events with stakeholders in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.

Your role

In this part-time, home-based role, as our new information officer, you’ll be providing vital information and support to families with disabled children in Wales, helping them adapt and recover from the Cost-of-Living Crisis and Pandemic as part of our new Building Resilience Project, across different regions of Wales.

What we’re looking for

• Knowledge and experience in working with and supporting families with disabled children in Wales.
• Good knowledge and experience in information work – specific to Wales
• Experience researching information and collaborating on producing newsletters, e-bulletins, website pages, publications
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, along with digital skills.
• Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, and respite care.
• Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team

To work with the people of SW London to ensure that our membership reflects the wider community that we are part of. To work with the community of members, staff, and volunteers at Sound Minds to ensure that our members lead the organisation and that Sound Minds is a safe place of creativity.

The successful candidate will be proactive with a can do attitude and combine these different elements to make a real difference and help grow the organisation.

Due to the nature of the work with our members the role needs to be carried out in person and is not suitable for remote working.

We particularly encourage people with lived experience of mental ill health to apply.

Salary: £25,618 per annum pro rata (salary will be 0.6 x £25,618) & 3% contribution to pension

Hours: 21 hours per week, including the core days of Tuesday and Thursday

This fixed term contract ends on 31st March 2027 and is renewable depending on funding.

Key responsibilities:

• Network across the borough of Wandsworth and South West London by visiting organisations and speaking to people with lived experience of mental distress and / or using mental health services and mental health professionals.

• To have a particular focus on reaching people we are keen to see continuing to use Sound Minds including young people, people from BAME communities, and LGBTQ+ people.

• To form ongoing working relationships with people who refer members to Sound Minds such as care coordinators, social prescribers, community mental health teams, local psychiatric hospitals, and housing support workers. 

• To lead the referral team at Sound Minds to ensure the referral pipeline operates smoothly and fits the needs of prospective members.

• To lead on the pastoral care of our individual members. Working with people to help resolve any ongoing problems around areas such as housing, finance, benefits, access to mental health services, having sufficient food to eat and referring and signposting them on to other services.

• Referring members on to other services and ensuring that the offers of Sound Minds are joined up.

• Leading group sessions to help individuals with their wellbeing and recovery journeys.
