About the Role

You will lead 2 Business Development Managers directly to deliver a 6-figure team new business target across the country. You will also support the upskilling and support of our Area Fundraising Managers in their local new business endeavours. You will ensure a solid strategy, creative prospecting plan and pipeline management to achieve our agreed targets as well as have your own personal pipeline. You will also support the team in liaising with our national Corporate Partnership team, Marketing teams and more to ensure the team have everything they need to identify, prospect, win and report on new business.

You are joining a passionate team part way through a 3-year strategy implementation that has seen the team forecast to almost double income within 2 years.

Part of the Commercial Directorate which has ambitious growth plans focussed on growing our supporter base.

Location: Remote with occasional travel to Bristol

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Operations Manager role: 

As Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the effective day to day management of key business support services including operations, IT data and premises. The role includes line manage responsibilities of the inhouse team as well as maintaining key relationships with outsourced companies to ensure objectives are met.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

Operations: 

• Manage the non-pay elements of the Operations Budget, including IT budget. (approximately £400K annually) 
• Ensure that the technical, digital and office environment needs of all staff (across all sites and remote workers) are fit for purpose and adequately resourced
• Compliance with Health and Safety legislation
• Oversee the effective management of communal facilities, office resources and equipment. 
• Responsible to complete, monitor and maintain the Operations Risk Management register.

Data Protection and Management: 

• Provide subject matter expert advice on GDPR compliance and data protection. 
• Responsible for co-ordinating the Data Champions Group to ensure that all Data Protection Polices are kept up to date. 
• Responsible for all Subject Access and Right To Be Forgotten Requests
• Act as the ICO liaison. 
• Responsible for setting GDPR training requirements
• Manage the Intranet and SharePoint sites
• Responsible for ensuring that the CRM operates in line with WA’s IT and GDPR Policies. 
• Responsible for monitoring the ongoing archiving connection.

IT: 

• Work with the external IT contractors to ensure effective delivery of the WA IT strategy. 
• Ensure effective management and coordination of IT systems, equipment, office machinery, premises, and services. 
• Plan, develop and implement strategies for IT
• Ensure organisation wide compliance with IT policies. 
• Manage responsive IT support, maintain central records for externally provisioned services. 
• Oversee the effective use of databases and file storage

​What we are looking for in our Operations Manager:

• Experience and knowledge of a variety of software packages, particularly MS products
• Line Management experience
• Experience of hardware troubleshooting and support
• Solution driven and the ability to think creatively, working to tight deadlines
• Experience in health and safety
• Excellent IT skills and computer literacy
• Good knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality
• Good oral and written communication skills

The role 

We are looking for Housing Support Workers who can provide intensive housing management & support to service users in our supported housing projects. 

You will work proactively with service users who have been homeless and have complex needs to sustain their tenancies and move on into independent living.

You will also work empathetically to empower services users, actively engaging them with the community and helping them to support each other, to develop resilience, to live independently, and to be an asset to the community. 

The right fit 

• You will have prior experience with service users who have been homeless and/or have complex needs including, Mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse & chaotic lives etc. 

• You will also have strong ICT skills. 

• You will be competent in facilitating support sessions and devising support plans to achieve successful outcomes. These will be person centred in their approach, identifying individual needs and strengths of each Service User.

Your experience will include supporting network devices and concepts, printers, softphones and other business hardware and software.

The Role

As an Area Branch Development Manager you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. Providing a solution-driven approach with the aim of helping more cats through the effective engagement of local volunteers. You will develop and deliver an area plan that captures the importance of volunteer engagement, recruitment, support, enabling and succession planning to ultimately achieve branch growth and sustainability. You will work collaboratively with other CP regional teams where appropriate, identifying where there are opportunities to achieve more by working together.

• Proven management experience including drafting business and operational plans

Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals   

• Support the development of a range of content to highlight the benefits of the Try Dry® app, particularly around key campaigns such as Dry January, Alcohol Awareness Week and Sober Spring  

• Particularly during our Dry January campaign period (December – January) provide additional support for the team across a range of roles  

Other     

You will also be expected to:     

• Support the Senior Digital Programme Manager to monitor income and expenditure for the Try Dry Local programme   

• Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’  

• Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies  

• Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it  

• Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times

This is an exciting role based in our Development Office, which is vital to the smooth running of our alumni community, the Old Ipswichians. My Cancer My Choices is looking for a talented relationship builder, people engager, community maker, and money raiser, to support our continued growth and development. 

Our award-winning charity provides complementary therapies to people living with cancer in Berkshire, empowering them and giving them control and choices over the treatments that will help to impove their physcial and mental wellbeing.  We want to biuld on our current success to expand our work and reach more people who would benefit from our support. 

As our new Supporter Development Officer you will enhance existing relationships in our community, and with our current supporters - as well as build new connections - to secure the financial and other support required to fund our growing services. This important role will represent FareShare Sussex & Surrey engaging with corporate partners and key stakeholders such as council leaders, politicians and dignitaries across the region. 

Using your experience in engagement and relationship management you will work to consolidate existing partnerships and seek new opportunities across Sussex & Surrey, working to build strong relationships locally and encourage partnership, donations, sponsorships and corporate volunteering. The development team has an ambitious target of £1 million to raise, through various streams including corporate partnerships, individual giving, trust applications and other fundraising activities each year. The role will manage the corporate income stream and requires collaboration with all income generation to ensure effective management and stewardship of all partners.

New Business

We are looking for Senior Supporter Acquisition Manager to join our Fundraising directorate and lead a brilliant team to develop and implement a range of supporter acquisition marketing programmes and to achieve the growth ambitions of our Fundraising strategy.

The Supporter Acquisition team is responsible for all marketing to attract new supporters across a large portfolio of appeals/products and media.  We are looking for someone to join us who has significant expertise with a wide range of marketing channels and can really add value to large well-established programmes with their experience, knowledge and drive to continually improve, identify appropriate new opportunities and shape supporter acquisition programmes.

The role involves managing an experienced team of two managers and a co-ordinator, and leading relationships with a number of suppliers.  The marketing programmes currently include face-to-face fundraising (from stands in retail space or at expos/outdoor events), DRTV and other forms of advertising, print – door drops/partially addressed mail/inserts and payroll giving.  An important part of the role is developing advertising for the nation’s largest charity appeal, the Poppy Appeal each November.
