Interviews at Versus Arthritis: w/c 10th February

Versus Arthritis

Versus Arthritis are the 10 million people living with arthritis. Our ambition is to create a world that no longer tolerates arthritis - no longer dismissing it as inevitable, untreatable and unimportant.  To ensure this world exists, fundraising will play a pivotal role in supporting all 10 million people.

Mass Market Fundraising

The MMF team’s vision is to establish a new, sustainable revenue model for Versus Arthritis by inspiring and empowering hundreds of thousands of people to take meaningful actions to defy arthritis each year. The team will transform the mass engagement programme into one which is ambitious, driven by audiences’ motivations, and digitally led. With six new appointments in the team, the Head of Mass Market Fundraising is developing a team that will be collaborative, visible internally across departments, and comprised of dedicated fundraisers.

 About the role

We are recruiting a Supporter Engagement Manager to drive forward a new approach to engaging the organisation’s fundraisers and donors that is insight-led and scalable. With an innate understanding of donors’ motivations and a systematic use of insights and donor needs, the team will spot and maximise income generation opportunities. The Supporter Engagement Manager is pivotal to make this happen.

You will work with colleagues to plan, manage, and deliver a busy schedule of relationship-led supporter journeys in mass marketing fundraising, including challenge event participants, community fundraisers, in memory donors, legacy pledgers and fundraising groups. The Supporter Engagement Manager will ensure the successful implementation and delivery of supporter journeys across the mass retention team and supporter engagement team, and will also manage a team of two officers and two assistants.

The best person for this job will be able to understand a variety of fundraising audiences and anticipate their needs and motivations, and will also be able to evidence confidently, communicating with a wide range of supporters and international stakeholders. You will work well under pressure and managing fundraising and team priorities, and will be able to proactively build relationships with colleagues internally. Crucially, you will be able to turn creative thinking and external trends into plans with measurable outcomes.
