We understand that deprivation and need in rural areas can be as acute as is present in larger cities and towns. There is a lack of services and transport, and this can increase a sense of isolation and compound problems further. In providing spaces where people can gather, we begin to walk alongside people and share experiences. In sharing experiences people can become change makers in their stories. Lives can be transformed by being present, hope-filled and by amplifying the voices of those in these communities.

You would join a team of community pioneers that form the Flourish team. We are passionate about enabling spaces where people can share time, build relationships and explore new and different ways of experiencing God and faith. We are seeking a curious and creative individual who is willing to be open to new ways of working and thinking.

We are a volunteer-run, non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) looking to hire an Operations Lead on a 6-month contract with a view to becoming our first permanent, employed member of staff.

Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Finance Assistant will play a vital role in the day-to-day financial administration of the charity. You will manage transactions using QuickBooks, process invoices and payments, assist with payroll, support the preparation for audit, and maintain accurate financial records. You'll also help us improve our financial systems as we continue to grow and adapt. 

This role also includes occasional receptionist cover, so we’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and adaptable.

Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Support our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

• Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote CWNN’s work, managing our social media platforms and external comms to ensure they reflect our strategic goals and values.

• Producing our e-newsletter, with support from the Development team, to ensure CWNN’s key work, impact, news and campaigns are effectively promoted to our supporter base.

• Create engaging digital content for our website and social media including written copy, video and graphics.

• Analysing campaign engagement KPIs to inform future strategies and approaches to best engage existing and new audiences.

About you 

Essential:

About The Azaylia Foundation

The Azaylia Foundation was founded by Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee after the passing of their eight-month old daughter, Azaylia. Childhood cancer is the number one killer of children in the UK, yet it receives less than 3% of cancer research funding. Backed by a large community of supporters, The Azaylia Foundation is committed to reversing this systemic underfunding through advocacy, PhD research grants, and family support for treatments not freely available via the NHS. Our flagship programme, The Azaylia PhD Scholarship Program, aims to fund 20 new childhood cancer PhDs and their research over a period of 5 years.

Working with our Communications and Health Liaison Manager, we are looking for a team player with great communication skills and positive energy, to contribute to our social media presence, help create engaging content, answer member queries via social media, and help to continue to grow our online community.

The ADSHG is a well-established UK charity supporting people with Addison’s and adrenal insufficiency through its website, social media reach and member services.   Addison’s disease is a form of adrenal insufficiency and is a rare endocrine condition affecting 1:10,000, and both genders. Whilst treatable with time-critical daily medication, individuals with adrenal insufficiency are at risk of potentially life-threatening adrenal crisis, which occurs when physical or emotional triggers mean that prescribed medication no longer meets the body’s need for cortisol.  Adrenal crisis is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated in a short period of time.  Addison's and adrenal insufficiency are not widely understood, even within the medical community.     

Social Media

Our social media reach has grown steadily over the years, and, thanks to thoughtful content promoting audience engagement, it currently stands at a reach of over 31,000 across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X and with a growing reach on BlueSky.   Our audience consists of our members and non-members with a diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency, their carers and supporters, and healthcare professionals.

We use Loomly to help organise and schedule our posts, aiming to post at least 3 times a week.  Our community respond particularly well to both educational and emotive topics, but we aim to keep a good diversity between the focus of posts, and will include fundraising, news, updates, shop alerts, educational articles, member information etc. 

Our social media links our community back to our website for more information as well as signposting out to other organisations as appropriate.

You will represent college employers in national pay negotiations and workforce policy development, oversee recruitment and consultancy services, and with your team drive policy influencing and evidence-based decision-making through strong stakeholder engagement and data insight. This is a varied and strategic role that combines leadership, sector advocacy, and operational oversight across FE employment and workforce priorities.

This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis. There will be regular travel to AoC’s national office in London and across the country to attend meetings and represent the organisation. The role
