The purpose of the role is to deliver stimulating and engaging play sessions, building relationships with parents/carers, and monitoring the progress of children, carrying out 1-2-1 work with families experiencing a range of difficulties. About the Role

About the role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to proactively lead the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, trusts and statutory bodies, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.

About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors (London) - £29,000  per annum plus London Weighting (pro-rata)

6-month fixed term contract (continuing subject to funding)

Here at One Million Mentors, our aim is to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. We believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion.

This is one of two Regional Manager roles in London; a Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors, and Regional Manager for Programme Delivery.

The Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors focuses on mentor supply, securing sufficient volunteers primarily for London and also for 1MM’s national outreach. It’s the perfect role for a candidate whose passions and strengths align with large scale outreach for volunteers so that no young people on those programmes miss out.

The role is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, in London and nationally. This includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, and oversight of some corporate programmes. Also to consider safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by helping establish over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximising conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Providing ongoing support for key stakeholder partners, including Employers, and maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.

Terms and Conditions: This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.

Remuneration and benefits: Salary bracket of £29,000 per annum plus London Weighting (pro rata), up to 6.5% employer pension contribution and 25 days holiday per year (pro rata).  We also offer monthly team Learning and Development training sessions, and 15 hours volunteering allowance per year.

In this role you will become our lead on two vital areas of work, to ensure exceptional employability and careers support for some of the most marginalised young people with barriers to employment.

You will:

• Lead our Alternative Provision programme - ‘Inspire to Work’, in partnership with Woodbridge Park Education Service (Hounslow Pupil Referral Unit), providing Year 11 students with meaningful employer engagement, workplace experiences, one-day-a-week supported internships and transition support.
• Develop and deliver our SEND services, resources, delivery and tools to ensure very high standards and impactful delivering for young people. You can read more about our SEND services here.

This position will play a fundamental role in Spark!’s growth and future success, enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our impact for young people who will most benefit from our support.

To succeed in this role you will have the passion, skills and experience required to work directly with neurodiverse young people and those within Alternative Provisions. You will thrive in a fast-paced working environment, able to work independently and as part of a supportive integrated team. You will have a lot of energy, alongside a motivation to have a significant impact on the lives of young people.

We are recruiting a Stories Manager to develop and drive our strategy to put the stories of our volunteers, callers and fundraisers at the front of our communications and fundraising work. 

This role is an exciting opportunity for a candidate experienced in working with case studies and storytellers who can efficiently manage a range of different stories sensitively and with confidence. If successful, you will lead the Samaritans case study function, support the organisation with its handling of real life stories and manage the relevant systems and processes. 

Storytelling is not only central to the way we communicate but it is central to our theory of change. We know that in sharing personal stories we can help others who are struggling find courage to seek help. We can tackle the stigma surrounding suicide. Storytelling and lived experience cuts right across media and campaigns, fundraising, events, policy and influencing work and support.​

This role will develop and implement a strategy to support the organisation (primarily the media, fundraising and individual giving teams) to champion the voices of those who have used our service, or have experience of suicidal feelings within our press activity, cash appeals, fundraising events and campaigns and policy work. This role will help bring Samaritans brand and work to life.

Skills and Experience 

• You’ll be a compassionate and talented story-teller, with a journalistic or similar background. 
• Experienced in case study management and stewardship, ideally in the charity sector, you’ll be passionate about our cause and keen to utilise your expertise in sourcing, interviewing and presenting people’s stories in a range of engaging ways and through different channels, including feature articles in the mainstream media, social media content and videos.
• A passion for People with adept interpersonal and communication skills, you’ll build new relationships with sensitivity and an understanding of the lives of those affected by suicide 
• Along with the principles of safeguarding and ethical storytelling practice.
