About the role
We’re looking for a warm, proactive organiser to help more women seeking sanctuary access our Touching Safe Ground programme — weekly trauma-informed yoga and English for wellbeing sessions in East London. You’ll reach out to asylum hostels, GP surgeries and community and legal services to connect with women who may benefit. You’ll support them in attending, help sessions run smoothly, and manage practicalities like childcare, refreshments and expenses. A key part of the role is also building a brilliant volunteer team — recruiting, supporting and coordinating volunteers who make our sessions possible. You’ll also work closely with the Project Lead and colleagues on outreach, monitoring and partnership-building. This hands-on, local role is perfect if you’re organised, people-focused, and committed to empowering women who have faced hardship or trauma. It’s also a great opportunity to build skills in partnership working, trauma-informed community outreach, and volunteer leadership
Key details
- Contract: 1-year fixed-term (with potential to extend up to 4 years) 3-month probationary period. Post funded by National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund

What we’re looking for
Essential:

About the Role:
The Nightstop Coordinator role is busy and varied role, it involves working with young people from when they approach the service to when they find longer term accommodation. You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all young people, assessing each young person’s needs and risks, finding short and long term housing options, organising the logistics of each Nightstop placement and making sure that each Nightstop placement is safe.
You will also lead on the promotion of the service with the aim of recruiting new Nightstop volunteers. The role will be based in the Manchester office and cover referrals from young people in Greater Manchester

· Conduct needs and risk assessments and arrange Nightstop placements

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly competent individual to oversee the planning and delivery of our ambitious peatland restoration programme at RSPB Forsinard Flows Nature Reserve. Our work programme consists of delivering both future open hill and forest-to-bog peatland restoration projects, as well as assuring that we meet our monitoring and maintenance commitments of previous Peatland Action and Peatland Code projects.
Based at the RSPB Forsinard Flows Field Centre, you will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating our Peatland restoration team, comprising of two Peatland Restoration Project Officers and a pool of committed volunteers. You will work closely with RSPB’s wider Scottish Peatland Programme, and be supported by RSPB’s Project Management Framework to help you successfully delivering the outputs and objectives of the RSPB’s national Scotland Peatland Programme.
The successful candidate will be someone with a proven track record of team leadership and project management to manage this complex work programme, and deliver truly landscape scale habitat restoration.
Essentials skills, knowledge & experience:
- Qualification in a relevant subject or ability to show equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of peatland habitat, function and wildlife, to enable oversight of peatland restoration projects.
- Proven leadership and line management experience, with track record of managing people and delivering a high performing team.
- Proven experience of project management, including development, delivery, reporting and budget management.
- Ability to deliver deadline-driven projects, and manage both your own and team’s workloads to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, both internally and externally.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, skilled and passionate Project Development Manager to join our England Project Management team, working primarily in the South of England.
The England Project Management Team manage all sorts of projects, from species recovery at a landscape scale to infrastructure repairs and commercial developments. Each day as a Project Development Manager is different. You might find yourself chairing a project team meeting one day, visiting a construction site the next, and negotiating with contractors the day after that.
As a Project Development Manager, you will directly manage some of the most ambitious and complex projects within the RSPB. At the same time, you will work closely with the Operations Director and Area Managers in the Southern region to develop a pipeline of projects across the South, and make sure they’re being well-managed.
Our project teams include colleagues from a range of disciplines as well as external consultants and suppliers. You’ll need to be able to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders and motivate others to get things done to keep projects progressing smoothly.
Key activities will include:
- Develop and manage one or more complex projects at any one time. To include budget management, stakeholder management, risk management, contractor procurement and other tasks as required.
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project success by focusing on a common goal.
- Develop and oversee a pipeline of projects that contribute to delivery against strategic priorities, working with regional/country management teams.
- Provide support & advice to the regional /country management team to enable them to use the PMF effectively to deliver strategic priorities and successful projects (including ensuring project assurance is in place).
- Line management of more junior project management team members.
- Provide advice and support to colleagues on project management best practice, helping to build overall project management capability across England.
- Be an advocate for Cora, the RSPB’s on-line project management system.
- Undertake project reviews as commissioned by the management team/other stakeholders including other regions & countries to ensure lessons are learned, best practice shared, and capability increased.

- Use detached and outreach methods to engage and recruit new young people on to programmes.
- Support young people with challenging behaviour and ensure our code of conduct is upheld.
- Ensure all activities and sessions are adapted to include and meet the needs of all young people. Implementing inclusion support plans where necessary.
- To understand and comply with all policies and procedures in line with Trust and contractual responsibilities including the safeguarding of the young people, GDPR, health and safety and EDI.
- Support youth volunteers, young leaders and assistant youth workers to work positively with young people and follow Trust policies and procedures.
- Ensure all administration tasks are completed accurately and within allocated time scales including handling personal data, managing expenses and petty cash, safeguarding reporting and risk assessments.
- Participate in training sessions related to safeguarding and emergency response.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, concerns, and actions taken.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
- Work closely with the Manager, Coordinators, Youth Workers, Coaches and partners to support the young people on sessions. Ensure a united approach to delivering activities.
- Attend regular supervision sessions and compulsory training to enable all duties to be carried out effectively.
- Work with other BFCCST staff to develop youth voice, youth development programmes and employability activity across other BFCCST projects.
- Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the Senior Manager
- Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when require.
The Selection Criteria
Essential
Qualifications and experience
1. At least one year’s experience of delivering positive activities with young people (either in a voluntary or paid capacity).
2. Youth Work level 2 or alternative equivalent experience
3. Experience of inspiring and motivating young people from a variety of cultural, economic and social backgrounds.
4. Experience of planning, leading and facilitating both large and small group sessions, and 1 to 1 activity.
5. A Safeguarding and First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training.
Skills, Knowledge, and ability
1. An awareness of current socio-economic issues and trends which may affect young people and youth employment in the locations we work in.
2. Ability to build relationships and work alongside stakeholders including schools, charities, employers, local council etc.
3. Able to be proactive and adaptable to manage challenging behaviour and support young people with inclusion needs.
4. Knowledge of and a commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity and data protection in relation to working in the community and youth work environment
5. Ability to regularly travel within the allocated work areas (Predominantly Ealing and Hounslow).
6. A willingness to work flexible hours as this role will involve evenings and some weekend commitments.
Desirable:
- FA level 1 or equivalent sports qualification
- Experience of working in partnership with young people or diverse community organisations to amplify youth voice.
- Experience of working with stakeholders such as professionals, community groups, schools to create opportunities for young people.
- Good knowledge of the local area and demographics (Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs)
- Alternative professional qualifications directly related to working with young people and children in a formal or non-formal setting
- Ability to adapt curriculum sessions to support young people with additional support needs
- Experience of, or a strong understanding of, how to effectively engage young people from vulnerable (e.g. homeless, young carer, etc) or underrepresented groups (women and girls, ethnic minorities), including those facing barriers to education, employment, or training.
- Previous experience of working with young people residentially.
- A full driving license and access to own car.
