We are delighted to be partnering with BAUS in their search an Events Assistant, someone with experience working in events, a passion for event execution and a keenness to work within membership organisations. The Role

The Events Assistant will provide administrative and event delivery support to the Head of Events and the Events Coordinator in the planning and delivery of physical and virtual meetings, events and courses.

This role is hands on and varied and duties will include:

• Supporting the delivery of BAUS’s flagship Annual Meeting and a calendar of Specialist Section Meetings, Education Courses and virtual events.
• Maintaining accurate delegate and speaker databases, attendee lists and name badges.
• Assisting with event websites, mobile apps, social media and marketing campaigns.
• Liaising with venues, suppliers, exhibitors and delegates.
• Providing administrative support including processing payments, handling enquiries, and producing post event reports.
• Supporting set up, breakdown and onsite delivery of events (some travel and overnight stays will be required).

The Person

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a collaborative approach. You should come to us with experience working in an events environment, or the completion of an Events Management course.

This promises to be an exciting and busy role so you will need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, and have the ability to multitask effectively demonstrating a high level of customer service skills.

Perhaps most importantly you should be enthusiastic, flexible and pro-active, be a genuine team player and able to work independently when required as well as collaboratively along with colleagues.

About the role

You will lead and manage projects that support on the development and delivery of a pipeline of insightful Musculoskeletal (MSK) and health data analysis and quantitative research, to better understand the UK population with MSK conditions and to inform the direction of our ambitions, strategy, policy and services work. This includes obtaining, analysing, publishing and presenting MSK epidemiological and health data, and working with others to influence improved quality, coverage and use of MSK health data.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of epidemiological research methods and health metrics (such as incidence and prevalence)
• Strong experience using of statistical software e.g. R, Stata, SPSS
• Strong experience using NHS and other national health-based datasets, and a good understanding of UK health and social care systems
• Experience of using multiple sets of health-related data and information systems, and large-scale data sets for policy, quality improvement or research purposes
• Experience of using data to improve the understanding of health inequalities and disparities for public health purposes

About the role

As an Experienced Practitioner, you will provide direct support and care for our young people who have complex emotional and mental health difficulties (such as trauma and loss) and can struggle to regulate their emotions.

Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our children and young people (aged 12 – 17 years old), you will also have responsibility for making sure our residents are safe, providing support, liaison with other professionals and completion of support documents to record information.

Overview

Social infrastructure refers to the physical spaces, facilities, and services that enable communities to thrive. This includes community centres, youth clubs, religious institutions, housing, parks, sports facilities, and larger institutions such as schools and medical centres.

Over the past few decades, this infrastructure, particularly those led by Black and racially minoritised people, has come under increased strain. This is due to a range of socio-economic developments, including austerity, privatisation of public services, and an increasingly complex grant-making sector.

The Strategic Alliance for Community Wealth Building was originally established in 2021. With a focus on supporting enterprise and asset development, the Alliance was created to bring together policy leaders, community groups, and infrastructure organisations to improve outcomes for Black and minoritised people and their respective communities. However, since 2021, the political landscape has changed significantly, and with it the challenges experienced by Black and racially minoritised organisations. This includes a growing climate crisis, Artificial

Intelligence, and the ongoing housing shortage across the country. Therefore, a new forum is required to ensure Black and racially minoritised communities are not left behind.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitation of workshops including design and presentation of relevant materials, communicating complex ideas relating to community wealth building and engagement with all participants.

• During SA events the postholder will focus on collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the sector, including community leaders, thinkers, policy professionals, and other stakeholders committed to an equitable future.

• Support with the development of the Strategic Alliance’s strategy, purpose, and long-term framework. Make sure than any ideas are captured and written into the work strands of the alliance, liaising closely with the Research and Policy Lead.

• Producing short briefs to inform discussion and debate within the Strategic Alliance for Community Wealth building meetings

• Delivery of reports informed by the content of the Strategic Alliance meetings.

Strategic HR Business Partnering

• Partner with the Drive Partnership leadership team to develop and deliver workforce plans that align with programme priorities and ensure teams are structured for success.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.
