Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: This is a woman only residential site, located in Brixton (South-East London) and benefits from great transport links, including convenient access to nearby train services. Kindly be aware that step free access is not available at this service. 

Salary: £30,600

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota varying 08:00 - 16:00 and 09:00 - 17:00, you may need to work outside these hours, including bank holidays as per service requirements. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers.

Please note, due to the nature of the service, it is an occupational requirement that the post holder is female and the post is therefore exempt from the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 in terms of Schedule 9, Part 1, and Paragraph 1 of the Act.

About the role

We are looking for Deputy Service Manager to join OPD HASS Women Service. HerStory House is dedicated to empowering women with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen communities, maintain independence, and build a hopeful future. Our specialised, high-support, female-only residential service is tailored for women who are likely to meet the criteria for a personality disorder diagnosis and are at risk of entering or re-entering the Criminal Justice System. 

You will provide line management and leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles to a high standard, ensuring service quality and continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone compassionate and experienced in understanding the criminal justice system and offender personality disorder, someone who brings empathy, tailored support and real dedication to help each resident thrive. The role includes:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
• Property and Housing Management, ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements, and repairs and maintenance are regularly reported and completed
• Financial Management, including petty cash and budget management
• Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

The Diocese of Manchester has established the Places Project, which is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. We are looking to appoint a Children’s Worker, to work with the team on a range of innovative new initiatives for children and their families as well as helping existing ministries to grow and flourish.

The Children’s Worker will work with churches and primary schools to create worship and discipleship opportunities for children. As part of their role, the Children’s Worker will work as part of the wider Places Project team, with specific involvement in a Year 6 transition programme in primary schools.

The Children’s Worker will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to launch new children’s initiatives. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to raising a generation of Jesus-followers.

The post holder should have some experience of children’s ministry and working or volunteering in a church and/or school context. To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated and able to lead children in a variety of contexts.

There is an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

DARE is the lead organisation in Darwen working with asylum seekers and refugees. We provide assistance across a wide range of issues, including helping asylum seekers through the complexities of the asylum system. We address issues of destitution and assist asylum seekers and newly recognised refugees to access key services including housing, welfare benefits, health, education and employment. Role Purpose:

The Circle is an alternative to A&E for young people and children who are finding it hard to cope with their mental health, when medical intervention might not be necessary. We provide one-off in the moment support, and we are open every day of the year with no waiting list.

Mental health advisors are part of the core team, supporting children and young people aged 5-18 and their families every day. You are expected to work within HFEH Mind’s policies and procedures, and adhere to our code of conduct/values.

This role will suit those that have worked with vulnerable children in the past, including, but not limited to, support workers, CAMHS workers and mental health workers. We work within a diverse borough, and look to reflect this in our team.

Job Summary:

The mental health advisor role is a key part of the delivery of the Circle, working on the frontline to support young people and their families who are finding it hard to cope. They will conduct hour long, one-off sessions with children and young people aged 5-18, providing: safety planning, coping mechanisms, psychoeducation, and signposting, and supporting in de-escalation. This will be delivered with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach.

As a mental health advisor, you will need to be ready to respond in the moment to presenting (often unknown) concerns. You will have to dynamically risk assess situations, and be confident in raising concerns when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

• Work as part of a team to provide support to service users and their families.
• Work within the Circle framework, and follow all HFEH Mind’s policies and procedures.

Are you passionate about delivering impactful events that drive engagement and inspire change? Join our dynamic Communications team as an Events Officer and help shape the future of health and care.

As our Events Officer, you’ll play a key role in planning and delivering a diverse and high-profile events programme. Working closely with the Events Manager and content experts across the organisation, you’ll help bring our strategic priorities, health and inequalities, innovation and improvement and improving health and care policy to life through flagship events, engaging webinars and supporting our corporate presence at external events.

The Development and Advocacy Department are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our Philanthropy team on a permanent basis. Reporting to one of the Senior Philanthropy Managers, in this role you will manage a number of philanthropic relationships and make a significant contribution to the team through developing new initiatives and growing the portfolio.

The ideal candidate profile for this post will be a team player, with the following credentials:

• An established track record in philanthropy or fundraising for major organisations
• Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of high value relationships with experience of personally securing significant gifts
• Ability to think strategically to devise relevant engagement and cultivation plans and identify opportunities for approaches to prospects
• A balance of experience and innovation to be able to develop new ideas and launch new initiatives successfully
• Credibility as an ambassador in the area of philanthropy, able to work effectively at senior levels and liaise with high-net-worth individuals
• Strong project management skills, with demonstrable experience of solving complex problems, drawing on given resources and collaborative working

A working knowledge of our repertoire is not a pre-requisite for this role but the ability to upskill quickly in our art forms in order to confidently speak to prospective donors is essential.
