About the role
The Director of Finance will lead the finance team to ensure the effective support for SFCT’s complex requirements across all aspects of finance, investment management, governance, compliance and risk.
The role will report directly to the CEO, providing financial and operational oversight, as well as high-level strategic engagement with senior stakeholders. This will require you to establish effective working relationships across the office and with family members and Trustees.
The role is part of the Head of Central Services group, working closely with the Head of Finance (Gatsby) to play a key role in decision making and delivering shared ways of working across the group, strengthening cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement to ensure that support for our Trusts and charitable organisations remains fit for the future.
This is a varied and complex role that covers three main areas of work.
- Leading a team that is responding to changing needs from internal customers to ensure high performance.
- Leading projects with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proactively supporting family members and trustees in managing investments.
The role’s challenge and variety come from a mix of central and tailored support for the entities that SFCT supports.
Who we are looking for
This role is a fully functional finance role with multiple entities that require support. You will be an experienced Finance Director (and/or perhaps a CFO of an endowment-funded foundation) with the people skills to lead and develop a large finance team, as well as the skills to manage a complex mix of stakeholders.
As a qualified accountant, you will be someone with knowledge and experience in charity finance, who also has a commercial focus and likely has had a stint in industry. Experience in managing a complex finance function and being proactive when it comes to change is essential, as well as the ability to inspire and develop a team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
You will enjoy working with people and come with a broad set of experiences. Experience in investments would be an advantage, as would any other additional areas of expertise. This role is a platform for value-added support.

Context of post
Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse is a company and charity set up to:
- provide inclusive services that reduce the risk of domestic abuse and promote the safety, choices and welfare of those affected
- enhance awareness of the nature and prevalence of domestic violence and help to foster good practice and an integrated multi integrated approach.
- This post holder will be in the high-risk team and be managed by the Service Manager with support from the Senior IDVA.
- A structured training and induction programme is in place to ensure new staff members are knowledgeable, confident and comfortable with the role.
- After 6 months of experience, the applicant will attend the Safelives IDVA training.
- Workload will be adjusted and study time will be given for attendance at training.
- Salary will be uplifted on successful completion of the course.
The trustees collectively have expertise in domestic abuse, child protection, criminal justice, voluntary sector governance, local authority community safety, training and quality assurance. While primarily a local charity the trustees anticipate that, with a focus on quality, some of the work of the charity may contribute to broader good practice development. The charity participates in a number of multi agency partnerships responsible for aspects of the county’s integrated domestic abuse strategy.
Function
The first priority of the charity is to provide an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Service for the county. The post holder will be a member of the IDVA team and provide a pro-active service to victims of domestic violence to keep them safe and promote their wellbeing. They will use their skills to assess the risk a client is in, deliver a service appropriate to the level of risk and have a particular focus on providing an intensive service to those at high risk. The post holder will have the skills to act as lead professional, working to ensure an integrated service and co-ordinating multi agency work to keep people safe, in addition to working with victims and signposting to other services.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the Oxfordshire IDVA team to provide pro-active service and advice to victims at high risk of harm from domestic abuse to keep them and their children safe
- Risk assess and deliver service in keeping with the result
- Undertake safety planning with clients
- Develop individual service plans to meet the specific risks clients face
- Where relevant also support victims in their role as primary carers for their children
- Manage a caseload
- Maintain and update records of all cases
- Participate in champion networks and work closely with outreach workers and any other dedicated DA services as appropriate
- Participate in MARAC framework: refer clients to, attend and participate in meetings, follow-up on actions agreed in MARAC
- Keep other relevant services informed about important changes in client’s situation
- Support clients through the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within that system
- Ensure that clients are immediately informed of any CJS developments and advised on any aspect affecting their safety
- Explain housing, civil and criminal legal options to clients
- Ensure that clients access the services to which they are entitled
- Refer on and arrange meetings with other agencies/services as necessary e.g. solicitors, benefit agencies, etc.
- Note and feedback to other agencies any consistent difficulties clients are having accessing their service
- Help clients develop their own support network
- Follow procedures and protocols so that the safety of the clients is kept central to any process
- Ensure Reducing the Risk fulfils its responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children
- Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children, and the policy and procedures of Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children’s Board – including specific guidelines applied to the voluntary sector
- Participate in supervision and support systems for the service, and in training and professional development
- Bring casework issues and regular difficulties clients are having to the attention of the manager; contribute to efforts to improve Reducing the Risk practice and procedures and/or to work through multi agency partnerships to improve multi agency practice
- Any additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the manager or trustees
The nature of this post will require flexibility to meet work needs as they arise. This may occassionally entail some work outside normal office hours. The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible attitude to their duties. These may have to be varied after discussion, subject to the needs of the service and in keeping with the general profile of the post. There will also sometimes be a necessity to work effectively under pressure.
Appointment to the post will be subject to full enhanced DSB checks.

Purpose of the AV Technician role:
The Royal Air Force Museum is seeking an Audio Visual Technician with experience in Stage Lighting and Rigging to work with the Event Technician, to use our in-house equipment, for the Commercial and Public Events programs.
As AV Technician you will be, primarily, focused on supporting events, by looking after the lighting equipment in the Museum’s event spaces, which include a 220-seat lecture theatre, iconic Lancaster bomber and the Sunderland Flying Boat. You will also need to have the Institute of Money Advisers Certificate in Money Advice Practice or MaPS Caseworker accreditation equivalent. NEA Level 3 City and Guilds Level Energy Awareness would be desirable too.

About the role
You will be responsible for supporting the finance manager on managing the charity’s finance ledgers, year-end accounts, completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, posting journals, dealing with cash banking and quarterly VAT return submissions.
You will support the directorate to improve the efficiency of processes using data and digital tools to drive those efficiencies and effectiveness across the organisation.
What you'll do

Be responsible for a key financial ledger (e.g. purchase/sales/cash) and provide first line support to the rest of the charity in managing that ledger

Support the financial accounting manager in delivering the month end closedown process

Produce monthly reconciliations to support the financial accounting manager facilitate the overall charity balance sheet reconciliations

Understand and support the other assistant financial accountants with their areas of responsibility to provide flexibility and continuity of service to the organisation

Provide support to budget managers on transactional accounting activities and queries
What you'll bring

Experience of working in a financial accounting team with good working knowledge of accounting principles and basic understanding of VAT for charities

Have, or studying towards, an accounting qualification

Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills e.g. advanced excel techniques

Experience of using accounting packages and other databases e.g. CRM to complete tasks

Experience of managing a financial ledger, double entry bookkeeping and understanding of chart of accounts

The Role:
As a Facilities and Office Assistant you’ll play a central part in ensuring the office runs smoothly and is a welcoming, well-equipped environment for staff and visitors. This is a varied, hands-on position that spans everything from managing supplies and post to supporting health and safety processes and working closely with external contractors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for office visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome.
- Coordinating post, deliveries, contractor access, and ensuring communal spaces are well-maintained.
- Organising and maintaining storage areas and assisting with archive review projects.
- Monitoring and ordering office and kitchen supplies and ensuring first aid kits are up to date.
- Supporting office health and safety procedures, including fire drills and maintaining compliance records.
- Delivering facilities inductions for new team members.
- Managing (non-IT) equipment inventories for hybrid and home-based staff.
- Keeping office noticeboards and internal communications up to date.
- Providing general administrative support, including inbox management, invoice processing, and contributing to sustainability initiatives.
- Assisting with property-related tasks, such as logging repairs, obtaining quotes, and liaising with contractors.
- Supporting the management of cleaning and security contracts.
- Clearly documenting your workload to ensure smooth handovers on non-working days.
About You:

Solent Mind is the provider for Wellbeing services across the New Forest from bases in Hythe (Marcella House), New Milton (The Hollies) and in various community settings.

The Research & Information Officer will play a crucial role in gathering, analysing, and disseminating information to support Bone Cancer Research Trust’s research activities and patient information resources.
Research is a key priority for the Charity and the people who support it. Since 2006, Bone Cancer Research Trust have committed over £12 million on research to advance the understanding of primary bone cancer and developing new and more effective treatments. Communicating our research investment is vitally important and will form an essential part of this role. This may take the form of written updates, verbal updates, or presentations and may be to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
The Research & Information Officer will also assist in research impact reporting and should be comfortable undertaking literature reviews along with gathering evidence and data from scientific publications and other useful sources for use in reports and patient resources.

To work with colleagues in the Tutor Engagement team to ensure the strategic priorities of Tutor recruitment and retention are delivered effectively.
The Tutor Recruitment and Engagement Officer leads on processes to ensure an appropriate number of high-quality Tutors are available to deliver our core programmes each term, including creating promotional material, and liaising with internal colleagues to ensure Tutors are equipped to start placements.
