The successful candidate will have

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and, be either working towards or has achieved the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Prior experience in residential children’s homes, including at least a year with staff supervision and management responsibility.

About this role

This role is 20 hours per week, worked part-time over 5 days Monday-Friday. Suggested working times are 10am-2pm however this can be flexible for the right candidate. The part-time salary for this role is £16,250 (£26,000 FTE for organisation 32 hours working week).

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of office management and administrative duties to support Causeway’s housing and support functions. You will deal with ad hoc queries and be the first point of contact for external queries, and act as an everyday presence in Causeway’s office to support with office-based team members, visitors, contractors, and cover basic in-house IT support.

Public Affairs Manager (Fixed term contract)

Your purpose 

This is a critical role in the Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs Department. As Public Affairs Manager, you will support the Head of Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs to make oracy education ordinary, co-ordinating and  project managing and delivering public affairs work as well as leading public relations work that increases our profile with policy makers. In doing so, you will play  an integral role in ensuring all children, regardless of their background, find their voice for success in school  and in life.

Your responsibilities 

This is a senior role in the Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs Department, as part of the wider Learning, Impact and Influence Directorate 

Public Affairs (80%)

• Drive forward Voice 21’s public affairs strategy, building key relationships, understanding and momentum that develops Voice 21’s influence with Government and non-parliamentary policy makers, ensuring that we have a meaningful role in shaping an oracy entitlement for every child, and appropriate mechanisms for its implementation

• Deliver Public Affairs business as usual work, for example; organising school visits, leading political and parliamentary monitoring, stakeholder mapping and horizon-scanning and organising events in parliament and at party conferences

• Work with policy makers on local, regional and national level to influence those responsible for the delivery of education at primary and secondary level

• Engage and manage stakeholders and other key people across and beyond the organisation who work with the Learning, Impact and Influence directorate to leverage relationships in pursuit of our organisational strategy and mission

• Lead on Voice 21’s role as secretariat to the Oracy All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) 

• Produce/co-produce consultation responses, blogs, internal and external briefings, parliamentary questions and other related communications in line with our content strategy

• Act as an internal expert consultant on public affairs, decision makers and implementation of our agenda

Public Relations (20%) 

• Deliver public relations activity to raise our profile and support our brand, including through awards, events and speaking engagements

About the role:

The Alcohol Behavioural Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioural change related to alcohol consumption.

As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.

Programme & Intervention Development

• Work with the Head of operations to develop and implement personalised intervention strategies to help individuals reduce alcohol consumption, using evidence-based behavioural change techniques through our app and other digital tools.

• Collaborate with lived experience panel and Independent Advisory Panel to create comprehensive alcohol-related behavioural health programmes.

• Utilise your experience of motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices to promote lasting change in alcohol use behaviours across Drinkaware’s activity.

• Stay up to date on the latest research in alcohol use, behavioural change methods to inform programme development and interventions.

Content & Communication

• Work with the Marketing & Content team to produce engaging content for public audiences ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of advice and guidance in all Drinkaware messaging.

• Work with the Digital and Content team to ensure the Drinkaware website content is relevant and up to date.

• Presenting our insights, programmes and tools to external stakeholders including funders, public health departments etc.

About you:

This role requires a deep understanding of psychological theories, behavioural science, and addiction, along with practical experience in behavioural interventions.

Qualifications and/or experience

• Degree or higher in Psychology, Behavioural change, Public Health, or a related field. Certification or training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or other relevant therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.

Essential Criteria / Key Skills

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Fundraising & Events to lead the development and growth of a high-performing department focused on generating income through national and international challenge events and corporate partnerships. 
 
This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for designing the fundraising and events strategy, building the structure and team to deliver it, and ensuring scalable, sustainable growth. You will shape the long-term direction of the department, ensure the right people and processes are in place, and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s broader income generation goals — including supporting the CEO with major donor stewardship. 
 
While the department’s primary focus is income growth through challenge events and corporate partnerships, the role also includes oversight of a small number of legacy community events and relationships ensuring continuity and reputational stewardship. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Department Building 

• Develop and lead the overall strategy for the Fundraising & Events department in line with the organisation’s income growth objectives. 
• Design and build a departmental structure capable of delivering scalable fundraising through events and partnerships.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Significant experience in a senior fundraising or income generation role, including designing and delivering strategy at a departmental level.

• Proven ability to develop income streams, including events and corporate fundraising, from inception to sustainability.

Clinical Quality is responsible for a range of outputs, products and services that champion and facilitate the safe care of women, girls and their babies across the UK, via quality improvement and clinical audit activities informed by evidence-based practice.

About the opportunity
This is a wonderful opportunity for a selection expert to join the Supporter Selections Team at Alzheimer’s Society in what is a really exciting time for both the charity and the team. This key role will add substantial grant-making and strategic capacity to the AFF team, which currently consists of 7 people  reporting to the Director of A Fairer Future. As Programme Director, you will extensively collaborate at leadership level with existing and new partnerships and stakeholders, parliamentarians and systems leaders to drive impactful interventions.

We operate a hybrid-working model and will require the post holder to be in our central London office a minimum of two days each week. Travel costs to our London office are not covered by the charity.

Essential criteria:

• Proven experience in programme management, ideally within the health sector or physical activity, in a fast-paced organisation Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership management to influence change, increase collaboration and sustainability
• Working and leading partnerships, developing and maintaining strategic and professional networks
• Experience of managing externally funded restricted income programmes.
• Effectively leading, developing and managing large multi-million-pound programmes.
• Robust financial planning, monitoring and management expertise.
• Successfully leading change and shaping innovative approaches.
• Clear and concise communicator, with excellent written and oral communication and advocacy skills - able to effectively market and influence on behalf of Age UK and the Richmond Group with senior stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing a performance management strategy

Desirable criteria:

• A background in the health sector, sports science, or a related field.
• Experience working with government health initiatives or large-scale behaviour change campaigns.
• Knowledge of marketing and social media outreach strategies.
• Knowledge and experience of government reforms in relation to health sector and behaviour change.
• Understand the complexities of bringing about behaviour change.
