Based primarily within our Fundraising & Supporter Engagement team, the Grants Coordinator will work to grow and maximise voluntary income from grant-making trusts. From liaising with funders and writing compelling applications to leading new projects and contributing to strategic development, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to bring hope and a future to struggling children.

Our Volunteer Experience Team supports all administration activities relating to volunteering good practice throughout the SSAFA volunteer journey, with a specific focus on recruitment and retention of volunteers. 

You will regularly communicate and engage with a range of stakeholders across the organisation to enable a smooth-flowing volunteer recruitment process and ongoing support to volunteer teams, contributing to the creation of a positive volunteering experience.  You will support both potential and existing volunteers, our volunteer managers and volunteer teams, through the provision of high standards of customer service and a person-centred approach. 

This role will routinely involve maintaining our volunteer database systems and volunteer records, administering our vetting processes, and engaging with volunteers and teams to provide advice and support (through email, phone call and MS teams meetings).

This is an exciting time at SSAFA as we continue to evolve our service delivery models to reach more beneficiaries with impact.  This includes the introduction of our new Volunteer Management System (Go Assemble) and development of processes and good practise to enhance and improve the SSAFA volunteer experience.

About you

This role is a great first step into the world of volunteer support services and is built on providing first class customer service with a person-centred approach to supporting our volunteers and teams across the organisation.  Experience in providing administrative services and following processes with an eye for detail are key to undertaking this role, along with the ability manage and prioritise workload effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills are at the core of this role along with good communication skills, comfortable communicating by email, phone and face-to-face via MS teams.  On top of this you will need to demonstrate an ability to use IT software systems such as Microsoft Office and database systems to ensure information is processed in an accurate and timely way across SSAFA’s systems.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Safeguarding Team as our Senior Global Safeguarding Specialist reporting to the Global Safeguarding Director. This is a senior role in the team and will play a key part in managing and supervising safeguarding cases and investigations, as well as providing proactive support and guidance to Members and Country Programmes on a range of safeguarding topics. The role involves a considerable about of proactive prevention work such as designing and facilitating training and resources for a range of audiences (Boards, staff groups, volunteers, communities). In this role you’ll also: 

• Lead and Co-lead safeguarding support country programme / member visits.
• Maintain and update core safeguarding policies and standards as and when required.
• Actively engage with external safeguarding networks to ensure WaterAid continues to contribute to improve sector safeguarding standards and engages in relevant sector initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with global safeguarding standards in relation to core performance indicators.
• Lead on planning and developing, training resources such as webinars, videos, and guidance documents for multiple audiences.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven track record of working in a safeguarding environment with significant case management experience of at least 5 years.
• Significant experience in conducting safeguarding investigations and risk-based interviewing.
• Experience of report writing skills, including risk assessments and risk management report writing.
• Technical knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and protection principles and standards.
• Understanding and knowledge of applying a trauma survivor centred approach
• Experience of working with vulnerable groups such as young people and vulnerable communities.
• Knowledge of UK and globally relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.
• Experience of working in challenging, face paced, and complex environments.
• Experience of safeguarding policy design and implementation.
• To be able to confidentiality communicate in English both written and spoken.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Luton, floating support service based within the office and around different locations within the community

Salary: £24,500

Shift Pattern: 12 month fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours as necessary to service requirements.

About the role

This is an exciting new role within a brand new contract to support the referral process from the Housing Solutions teams! The service focuses on providing floating and wraparound support to single applicants who are at risk of homelessness and are able to live independently, by providing a housing support plan towards resolving housing needs and support them into long-term, stable housing.

In this role, you will conduct proactive outreach with our participants to develop personalised support plans for housing for appropriate long-term housing options, including accessing private rental listings and understanding application processes for tenancy. You will help our participants navigate the resources available to them including benefits and support services, advocating for their needs whilst empowering them to take ownership of their housing journey. You will work closely with the Landlord Liaison Officer who bridges the gap between our participants and private landlords. You will work closely with them to achieve prevention and relief outcomes by assisting the participant to remain in their provided accommodation. 

You will provide follow up support to ensure tenancy sustainment and successful transitions into permanent housing, keeping casefiles up to date with activities and documents, and escalating any high risks or high needs to the management team.

As Clean Energy Investment Manager, you will lead the delivery of the Clean Energy Fund across North Wales, supporting voluntary organisations to transition to sustainable, renewable energy solutions.
