The role

We’re seeking an Individual Giving and Legacy Officer to join our growing Individual Giving and Legacy team! 

This is a brand-new role, and you will have the chance to develop your knowledge across both areas of fundraising. In this role, you’ll deliver multi-channel campaigns that recruit supporters and you will develop our stewardship journeys, so supporters have a great experience.

This is an exciting time to join Pancreatic Cancer UK as we have an ambitious 5-year strategy to double our income and double survival rates, and this role is integral to that.

We’re working towards a world where everyone with pancreatic cancer lives long and well, but we can’t do it alone. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Delivering legacy campaigns across email, print and social media to acquire new legacy supporters.
• Delivering individual giving campaigns across regular giving, in memory, lottery, cash and our online shop.
• Developing and optimising stewardship journeys across digital, print and phone.

Background and purpose

We are the only UK-wide charity for everyone affected by a genetic and acquired bleeding disorder. 

At the Haemophilia Society (THS) we want to empower everyone affected by a bleeding disorder to live life to the full, whatever your stage in life.

One in 2,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, which are a group of conditions, including haemophilia and von Willebrand disorder, that result when the blood cannot clot properly. 

As many as a third of bleeding disorder diagnoses have no known family history and can be the result of a random gene mutation. This means a bleeding disorder diagnosis can come completely out of the blue.

THS brings together people with bleeding disorders and their families to share experiences and understand more about how to live well with a bleeding disorder. Together, we can all make a difference.

About the role

We’re incredibly lucky to have a generous and dedicated community who are always looking for new ways to support our work. We are looking for a passionate fundraiser who can take ownership of our community fundraising and empower our members and supporters in their fundraising ventures. You’ll act as the face of THS for people looking to raise money in a variety of wonderful ways – ensuring they have what they need to be as successful as possible. This will include managing a number of key events such as the London Marathon, Ride London and Swim Serpentine. 

This role would be ideal for someone with 2-3 years’ experience and looking to take the next step in their fundraising career. As part of a small team, you’ll be excited about getting involved in all areas of community and events fundraising, building relationships with our members and driving our fundraising strategy forward. 

The purpose of the role is to:

Community Fundraising

·Supporting and running the community fundraising activities - engaging our centres, signing up new members, stewarding our donors, being the key point of our enquiries

·Organisation and delivery of mass participation events

• Provide guidance and support for supporters undertaking community fundraising and act as a key first point of call. Developing and improving the supporter journey with new materials.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate will have a GCSE-level education with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and be willing to complete BEH Peer Worker Training and a Wellness at Work plan. A Health or Social Care qualification and ongoing training commitment are desirable. They will have lived experience of mental health challenges and secondary care use, along with supportive life experiences that inspire others. Experience in support roles, teamwork, and knowledge of recovery tools and principles is essential, as is an awareness of issues like stigma and discrimination. Desirable experience includes psychiatric hospital admission, mentoring, working in public or voluntary sectors, cross-organisational collaboration, and knowledge of local mental health services. Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills are required, along with basic IT proficiency; skills in Microsoft Office or additional languages are a plus. The candidate should be motivated, reliable, flexible, and resilient, with clear professional boundaries.

This is an exciting and varied role that encompasses all aspects of our fundraising activity and will support the development of relationships with our individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partners, and Community/Faith Groups. • Support the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead to maintain a calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements
• Coordinate periodic mail outs to Trusts and Foundations in the small/general category.

• Assist with developing corporate partnership proposals, and other communications including periodic newsletters and social

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing donor data within the ThankQ CRM system, reconciling income with the support of the finance and fundraising team, and providing exceptional supporter care through timely and personalised communications. They will work closely with colleagues across fundraising and finance, ensuring that supporters feel valued and informed about the impact of their contributions.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for donors, ensuring that all donations are processed promptly
• Be responsible for all donor entries and conduct donor research
• Support mid-level donors interested in increasing their engagement.

• Accurately input and maintain supporter records and donor opt-ins/opt-outs in the Thank Q CRM system.
• Generate reports and insights to support fundraising strategy and donor stewardship.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising team to enhance database procedures for data capture and income recording, enabling more effective donor stewardship and prospecting
• Conduct quarterly thank you letter audits to ensure consistency and quality in donor communications.

• Process and reconcile donations, including Direct Debits, Standing Orders, and online giving platforms.
• Maintain accurate records of online giving platform data.
• Support the finance team with coding and tracking income across different fundraising streams.
• Produce regular financial reports for internal stakeholders.
• Conduct monthly income reconciliation and batch approvals with finance team.
• Support the fundraising manager with quarterly Gift Aid claims by pulling the reports off Thank Q and calculating the claim and checking eligibility.

• Process ThankQ donations and send thank you letters.
• Reconcile income between ThankQ and the bank.

About You

This role requires a highly organised, competent and proactive individual with strong administrative skills, understanding of GDPR and maintain data integrity, familiarity with third party fundraising platforms such as Justgiving and Enthuse. Knowledge of automation would be an asset and experience of ThankQ CRM is essential to this role. A keen eye for detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with donors.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

About the role

This role will support and empower LGBT survivors of domestic abuse to overcome the impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives. You will provide direct advocacy and step-down support for medium-risk individuals in safe accommodation, enabling them to engage with a range of recovery-focused interventions.

Your work will be trauma-informed, empowerment-based, and person-centred, tailored to each individual’s needs. Support may include emotional and practical assistance, help to navigate specialist services, and enabling clients to access group recovery sessions or one-to-one psychoeducational interventions.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a service that goes beyond crisis response, focusing on recovery, resilience, and empowerment for survivors at a pivotal stage in their journey.
