Your role as our Education Trustee

Time commitment & flexibility

We respect the demanding schedules of school leaders, so we structure our commitments with maximum flexibility:

�� Induction – Approx. 6 hours to familiarise yourself with our programme and approach.

�� Ongoing - 6 hours on a quarterly basis including:

Quarterly Education & Safeguarding Committee – 1-hour remote meeting, with up to 1 hour of prep.

Quarterly Full Board Meeting – 2-hour in-person meeting (ideally, but remote options available), with up to 2 hours of prep. We encourage in-person attendance as we socialise as a board afterward, but we fully understand when this isn’t possible.

�� Additional support – As available, based on your interest and capacity.

About the Project – “Solta o Jogo”
“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival that celebrates Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, this event engages the local community through free performances, classes, and exhibitions.

As part of this project, we are looking for a Data Analyst who can help us measure community impact, inform decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement across programme delivery. This is a hybrid volunteer role, ideal for someone based near Kingston (travel expenses will be reimbursed). You’ll gain valuable experience working in the non-profit sector and help shape a high-profile cultural programme that has received praise from local councillors, Kingston University, and the Brazilian Consulate in London.

Position Overview:
The Data Analyst plays a key role in supporting Quilombo UK’s community and cultural initiatives by collecting, managing, analysing, and reporting data related to engagement, outreach, and programme impact. This role is crucial to enabling data-driven decision-making across teams and enhancing the visibility of outcomes to stakeholders and funders.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Management:

• Gather, clean, and manage datasets from sources including attendance logs, feedback surveys, fundraising data, and project reports.

• Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and organisation across internal records.

Analysis & Insight Generation:

• Identify trends and patterns to evaluate the effectiveness of “Solta o Jogo” programming.

Ready to make a difference to a young person's life? Team Up is seeking dynamic volunteer to help transform the lives of disadvantaged pupils by improving their grades and building confidence in their learning.

We are looking for inspirational role models who will tutor Maths or English on one of our 12-week online progarmmes, starting mid-September 2025,

You will be matched with a small number of pupils and provide them with the academic support, encouragement and inspiration they need to get back on track. The pupils on our online programmes have had some disrupted schooling due to personal circumstances and our tuition programmes aim to build not just academic strength, but confidence and positivity towards learning as well. 

All our volunteer tutors receive full training, lesson resources and support from a qualified teacher / team manager throughout their placement.

Practical Considerations:

• Tutors can choose between between two online programmes: Tuesday mornings from 11:30am till 12:45pm or Tuesday afternoons from 16:45 till 18:00.
• The start date of both programmes is Tuesday 16th September 2025 and the final sessions are on Tuesday 9th September 2025.
• Sessions are 60 minutes and take place via Teams. Tutors are expected to be online 15 minutes prior to their session. There is a 15-minute debrief with your progarmme manager after each session.
• This role requires you to undergo a free of charge enhanced DBS check, which will be arranged by Team Up.

• Individuals who are passionate about social mobility and helping to reduce the education attainment gap

Our volunteers love building a rapport with each pupil, seeing pupil growth, and personal confidence increase across the 12 week programme. By the end of the programme, you will see how the support you give has enabled a young person to not only improve their grades, but also build long term resilience. 

Alongside this meaningful experience, you will also be able to attend our employability seminars, as well as receiving a personalised reference upon completion.

We're a not for profit Community Energy organisation operating in Southwark and Lambeth and has been established by members of the South London community to relieve fuel poverty by providing renewable energy locally. We have been set up as a Community Benefit Society, which means we are a business managed for the benefit of the community. It’s is run by its shareholders, and shareholding is open to everyone.

We were established in 2023 and received grants from four funds (Government, Mayor of London, Southwark Council, Centrica Energy for Tomorrow) and a fuel poverty alleviation contract from Uk Power Networks (Leaving No One Behind) in 2024 to set up our pilot projects. We have two part time paid managers running the fuel poverty activity and the overall programme.

Our pilot projects include a fuel poverty service delivering energy advice and support for those in need and we currently have five trained energy champions who work with us part-time. We are also running feasibility studies for four solar arrays on housing estates and we’re exploring different possible business models. If we can make this work then we will be setting a precedent for a model for renewables on mixed tenure estates and long term financial sustainable fuel poverty alleviation.

At this exciting and pivotal time at the beginning of our journey we are looking for a Treasurer to support our organisation by overseeing the financial affairs.

The Role

The Treasurer will be overseeing the work of Martin, our dedicated Lead Finance Volunteer, who is an accountant working in Government and has been supporting our work for several months. We estimate that the treasurer role will require an average of less than one day a month, including attendance at six board meetings a year and weekly half hour meetings as necessary to be a mentor to Martin. We hold board meetings every other month on Tuesdays 1-2.30pm. The majority of these are held online with occasional in person meetings in Southwark. The Treasurer will also be responsible for holding a general oversight of financial activities and ensuring that we are keeping in line with our financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial matters to ensure that the organisation is compliant with regulations and good practice
• Support the finance team and other members of the board to ensure that effective financial procedures are in place
• Support the team in maintaining accurate financial records and oversee the year-end and funders financial reporting processes
• Advise on finance related initiatives that could benefit the society and input to strategy
• Support the creation of financial prospectuses for community share offers

Essential Qualities, Skills and Experience

• Chartered accountant with at least three years experience
• Understanding of financial management in organisations

Evolve Counselling is a long-established charitable social enterprise, providing low cost, affordable or funded mental health counselling to adults in mainly Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. Our counselling community is made up of 50 – 60 qualified self-employed practitioners, working part-time. We deliver talking therapies to adults – online and in person. Our service delivers around 500 counselling sessions per month to a broad range of individuals, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access counselling support. Evolve also provides supervision, reflective practice, critical incident support, and mental health awareness and related training, to organisations and businesses large and small.

Our Trustee Board is currently drawn from the counselling and therapies community, plus commercial and other charity backgrounds. ROOTED is an emotional support app designed to help people navigate everyday emotional challenges through real-time, AI-powered conversations. Built by a cross-disciplinary team of psychologists, technologists and creatives, ROOTED offers a deeply personal and intuitive mental well-being experience — not just as a tool, but as a companion.

We’ve launched our web version, and now we’re bringing the experience to mobile, starting with React Native (iOS-first).

At the heart of ROOTED is RuMa (Running Mammals) – our proprietary conversational AI, built using cutting-edge LLMs, designed to reflect and respond to human emotion with empathy and insight.

�� The Role

We’re looking for a passionate React Native Developer to join our early-stage team on a volunteer basis. You’ll be helping us bring mental health support to life on mobile, working alongside a small but committed team who care deeply about design, technology, and emotional wellbeing.

What you’ll do:

• Build and structure the ROOTED mobile app from the ground up (iOS-first)

• Develop a real-time chat interface integrated with WebSocket

• Implement REST API integrations (auth, emotion tracking, chat logs)

• Align shared state management with the existing Zustand + TypeScript system

• Collaborate with our AI and design teams to deliver emotionally aware UI/UX

• Optimise performance for cross-platform compatibility (Android optional)

• Node.js, Express, Prisma, MySQL, Redis (existing backend)

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced (ideally 3+ years) in React Native and TypeScript

• Familiar with building chat apps or real-time communication tools

• Comfortable with startup environments — fast, iterative, collaborative

• Motivated by mission and social impact — you care about mental health

• Self-driven and communicative, able to work remotely with flexibility

Bonus if you’ve worked with:

• Push notifications (APNs, Firebase)

• CodePush or OTA update workflows

• Emotionally aware design or digital therapeutics

An exciting opportunity to volunteer your skills to support a much-needed local charity working across Northamptonshire. 

Baby Basics Northampton is a registered charity that provides moses basket starter packs to parents with new babies in Northamptonshire, via referrals from healthcare professionals and local agencies. 

The charity is in its 12th year, and ready to grow in line with community demand for our vital service.  We are recruiting new Trustees, to join the Board to ensure this much-loved local charity thrives as it increases both its reach and impact.
