The Bishop of Guildford is looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to provide excellent administrative support for the Bishops of Guildford and Dorking.

About the Department/Role

This role as The Bishop's PA reports to the Bishop of Guildford, but will report functionally to the Bishop's Chaplain who is ensuring the bishop's office is running smoothly during an interim period.

The role comprises offering highly competent and efficient Personal Assistant administrative support to the Bishop of Guildford based out of his office and home, Willow Grange, Jacob's Well, Guildford. The work requires being a primary point of contact with the public and colleagues from across the Church, requiring a positive and professional attitude. A comprehensive induction programme will be developed to ensure that the Temporary Bishop's PA understands the running of the bishop's office, and also its interaction with the Bishop of Dorking's office, the Appointments Team, and operations at Church House Guildford.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive and professional personal assistance (administrative, secretarial and clerical support) to the Bishop of Guildford.

This will involve:

• Managing the calendar and appointments of the bishop accurately and efficiently
• Offering support for key meetings (preparing paperwork, agendas)
• Welcoming visitors to Willow Grange and offering hospitality
• Answering the telephone promptly, handling all enquiries and forwarding them as necessary

Key role requirements:

• 'You will need to be A' level standard education, or equivalent professional experience, knowledge and skills an have extensive administrative experience in a professional environment
• This role is based at Willow Grange, GU4 7QS Monday to Thursday but with the option of homeworking on Fridays

About the role

This is a new fundraising opportunity to help provide support for serving personnel, veterans and their families ensuring that no-one battles alone.

Supported by the Statutory Grants Manager, this role is fundamental in developing, advancing and championing both new and existing income from local authorities, health providers, and other local commissioning bodies and grant funders. The aim of this role is to increase income generation in this area whilst enhancing SSAFA’s visibility and profile within these organisations on a local level. 1. The Role

The Head of Audiences is a new leadership role in the Commercial Operations team designed to ensure that audience insight and segmentation are at the heart of everything we do. This role will lead on understanding who our current and prospective audiences are, how they engage with us and what they need now and in the future. You will use this insight to guide programming, marketing, visitor experience at Winchester Science Centre but as we evolve our Charity’s reach and engagement you will play an important role in ensuring we fulfil our ambitious plans and reaching a diverse community. The role is part of the Commercial Operations team led by the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the Head of Programming and Head of Visitor Experience. However, you will work with the wider leadership and their teams to ensure that both the community programme and on-site experience are insight-led, responsive to audience needs, and relevant to a wide range of segments. · Lead the organisation’s audience strategy, embedding a data-led approach that informs programme development, marketing and wider organisational planning and offer.

Special Circumstances

Global Health Partnerships (GHP – formerly THET) is a global health charity working in partnership with governments, health institutions, and international bodies to train health workers and strengthen health systems across 31 countries. We do this through grants management and capacity building, alongside research, convening and advocacy towards the goal of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). At the centre of our approach, is the model of Health Partnerships, long-term relationships between UK and low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) health institutions, which improve health services through the reciprocal exchange of skills, knowledge, and experience. At the heart of our work is vision of a world where everyone has access to healthcare.

GHP is seeking a consultant to conduct a study examining the work of GHWP in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. The consultant will lead investigations into the benefits and impact of HP health systems and health workforce interventions under the DHSC-funded GHWP.

This study will explore and examine the value added of the Health Partnership approach to the health systems of the three partner countries.  While the effectiveness and impact of health workforce and health system strengthening interventions have been highlighted through GHWP reports and sharing and learning events in each of the three countries, insights and results have not yet been sufficiently synthesised or documented in a way that supports advocacy, resource mobilisation and policy positioning.

This study will review and examine existing literature and data, including published and grey literature, GHWP reports, reports from other DHSC-funded GHP projects, and other available documentation on the benefits of the Health Partnership model (see Related Papers section). Some primary qualitative data collection and analysis may be required.

Contractual Responsibilities 

Reports to: The Technical Director, based in the UK, who will provide technical oversight of the study. The Consultant will be responsible for managing their workload and conducting the activities in a timely and efficient manner as set out in this document. The Consultant will agree the specific focus areas for the study with the Technical Director and GHP team.  The Consultant will also have regular reporting points with the Head of the Evidence and Impact Team and other GHP colleagues, as required.

The contract will run from August 2025 over a 4-month period. The Consultant will submit a technical proposal and budget of up to £20,000. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable.
