The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).
The Responsibilities
Events Manager
o Line managing the assigned event coordinators, temporary staff or office volunteers.
o This will include annual appraisals and weekly 1-2-1’s
o Helping to recruit and line-manage casual workers
o Helping with day to day running and support of the team for the staff assigned to this role.
Logistical arrangements:
o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event.
o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers.
o Determining catering requirements and caterer management.
o Hiring of any additional venues as required and site logistics.
o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used).
o Hiring of any additional equipment required for the event.
o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments.
o Ensuring any legal and insurance tasks are thought about and in place for the event taking place.
o Creating floor plans for the vergers to use.
o Liaising on interpretation needs are met including BSL.
o Liaising regarding speakers and associated tasks including contracts, gifts and accommodation.
o Liaising and implementing programme decisions.
o Any other event related task.
Marketing and communications:
o Working closely with the marketing team on the marketing plan and budget.
o Steer and monitor social media campaigns, alongside internal creative services teams.
o Ensuring all GDPR protocols are followed – keeping the login access tracker up to date.
Staffing:
o Volunteer recruitment working closely with the Alpha leadership on this.
o Communication with HTB staff as to their specific roles and responsibilities & conducting staff briefings.
o Building working relationships with volunteers and team when onsite.

About the role
As we embark on a new ten-year strategy, this is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a radical and ambitious approach to partnerships with businesses, building on the successful partnerships we have with Lloyds Banking Group, Specsavers, Taylor Wimpey, Berkeley Homes and many more.
This pivotal role will lead the development of a corporate and commercial engagement strategy across Crisis, growing and deepening our portfolio of corporate partners, broadening their support for our organisation and our cause, and inspiring them to act within their businesses. The role also involves leading the continued development of our fundraising and partnerships outside of London, creating a national support network to end homelessness.
While the role is directly responsible for strategic and corporate partnerships, the post holder will lead across the charity, ensuring a joined-up approach across retail, service delivery (including Crisis at Christmas), brand partnerships, venture philanthropy, investments, and innovation.
The role also involves membership of the Brand, Marketing & Fundraising senior team and the organisation’s Senior Leadership Group, where it plays an important organisation-wide leadership role. Additional investment has recently been made in the team, and senior leadership and the Board have committed to supporting its success.

We are seeking a Volunteer Manager to recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow. Purpose of role
To manage the annual programme of the PPA psychoanalytic psychotherapy qualifying training and the Advanced Clinical Course. To promote and grow the trainings. To manage the budget and collect and report on performance management data. To track all trainees’ progress, to ensure the smooth running of all elements of the teaching provision and to liaise and work in collaboration with the PPA training committee (TC), curriculum committee (CC), selection committee (SC) and post graduate committee (PGC).
Accountable to

Key responsibilities
1) To oversee and manage the delivery of the annual programme of the PPA trainings in collaboration with the TC and PGC.
a) Booking clinical, theory and group seminar leaders in collaboration with TC and PGC.
b) In liaison with the Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement place adverts for supervisors, teachers, and group leaders as appropriate.
c) Ensure that trainees and TC have an up-to-date list of Training Analysts, Training Supervisors and Approved Therapists
d) Room booking for all aspects of the programme.
e) Annual review, update and production of handbooks and all written materials for course.
f) Collaboration with the library to track reading list production.
g) To be the first point of contact in cases of emergency.
h) To collect, collate and report on trainee feedback.
2) To oversee the annual trainee selection for the trainings.
a) To be the first point of contact for potential applicants, giving out appropriate information about the trainings and passing appropriate inquiries onto the training advisors.

d) Ensure consistent messaging about PPA trainings across internal and external communications.
e) To have oversight of the cycle of reaccreditation with the BPC.
5) To ensure effective administrative and financial management of PPA trainings.
a) To take lead on ensuring all communication with trainees is up to date including collection of fees, sending out handbooks, curriculums, all training materials, and dates.
b) To work with the Director of Corporate Services to oversee and maintain budgetary control of both trainings.
c) To work with the Director of Corporate Services to provide management reporting data.
d) To collect and report on data collection of protected characteristics.
e) To provide budget updates to the training committee.
f) To recommend and implement improvements to PPA training admin systems and processes.
g) To manage all payments from trainees and to teaching staff.
6) To work with all PPA committees to maintain the functioning and growth of the PPA association.
a) To attend TC meetings, PGC meetings, bpf Heads of Trainings meetings and any other meetings to ensure the smooth running of the committees and clear communication between committee members.
b) Organise and oversee the termly PPA reading group and other social events in collaboration with the Events Officer.

7) General

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the organisations cash programme and implementing the mid-value strategy. This is a great opportunity to take more strategic responsibility in developing the cash appeal strategy including, content, creative, data, digital, cross-team integration and analysis. Working collaboratively with others in the Fundraising and Engagement Team particularly, the Head of Supporter Engagement, and the Supporter Care Manager, you will ensure the supporter is at the heart of all campaigns and stewardship.
To be successful as the Individual Giving Manager, you will have proven experience of direct marketing and ideally within a fundraising environment. This person will need to understand how to use data segmentation and analysis to make informed decisions on individual giving strategy. Leading projects, this person will need to be able to work autonomously and collaboratively to bring teams together.

You will be responsible for cultivating a portfolio of prospects and donors through a range of engagement, to gain their financial support for programmes, projects and the wider RSPB. Working with colleagues in relevant departments, countries and regions, you will manage donor relationships and solicitation strategies to achieve the best outcome for the RSPB.
What's the role about?
As a team player with a positive and diligent approach, you will:
- Look after your own portfolio of donors as well as reaching out to prospects and new donors. You will be responsible for fundraising information to advance plans and ensure prospect and donor records are accurate, incorporating any changes, new activities, updated plans, and new information as well as adding new relationships in keeping with data protection and team procedures.
- Work closely with your team and wider organisation colleagues to implement solicitation strategies, to secure financial support either by direct solicitation, preparing a written proposal, or working with senior management to make a solicitation.
- Be involved in the development of funding proposals for approved priority projects that will inspire potential donors to secure gifts.
- Contribute to the planning of and participate actively in events (face to face and online) to build relationships with donors and prospects for future income and to demonstrate the impact of gifts already received.
- Arrange meetings with individual donors at a variety of venues, including at our reserves, working closely with area and reserve colleagues to deliver an excellent experience for our supporters
- Be jointly responsible for the planning, writing, production and mailing of Philanthropy Matters, our publication aimed at philanthropic supporters.
- Build effective relationships both within the RSPB and external to it that will enhance its reputation and ultimately secure funding. This includes understanding donors’ wishes and aspirations and identifying links with approved priority projects with the aim of securing substantial gifts.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Intermediate levels of fundraising as demonstrated by work successes and recognised fundraising courses
- Experience in how to research and cultivate a prospect. And understanding of how to write a cultivation strategy
- Ability to write funding proposals and prepare briefing documents in advance of meetings and events
- Competent in the use of a CRM system (Salesforce), the Microsoft suite, other databases, research tools and methods
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, and people and teams outside of our department
- Good judgement when working with donors and ability to recognise potentially sensitive areas between prospects and the RSPB to ensure reputational values are maintained
- Experience of having successfully managed and developed donor relationships leading to substantial support.

- Experience or interest in the environmental sector

· Operational management:
o Oversee the operational running of the charity, as delegated to the charity officers, ensuring the governance is fit for purpose and maintained.
o Manage and ensure maintenance and running of Loveworks assets including the warehouse, van and two allotments
· Budget management:
o Create and manage the overall budget as agreed with Trustee Treasurer
o Monthly and annual reporting
· Governance:
o Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure the charity commission governance requirements are operationally in place and maintained.
o Manage operational risk and health & safety across the charity.
· Stakeholder management:
o Relationship building e.g. agencies, schools, corporate organisations and fundraisers, developing and maintaining links with local community groups, organisations and businesses.
