About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior PR and Communications Manager to lead our PR and Communications function and play a key role in raising the Charity’s profile as a global leader in cancer research funding.

You will lead the development and delivery of a proactive and reactive PR and communications strategy that enhances our reputation, drives awareness, and supports fundraising across all income streams.

Managing a small team, you will work collaboratively across the Charity and hospital to identify compelling stories—from groundbreaking research to powerful patient and supporter experiences—and bring them to life across regional, national and sector media.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

• Deliver the Charity’s PR and communications strategy to increase visibility, reputation and engagement
• Manage and develop the PR and Communications team, ensuring high-quality, impactful output
• Track and report on media performance, coverage and KPIs.

Media Relations & Reputation Management

• Develop strong relationships with national, regional and specialist media
• Lead proactive media engagement, including story sell-in, press releases and media briefings
• Manage reactive communications, including handling sensitive issues and advising on messaging
• Identify opportunities to position senior leaders as thought leaders within the sector.

Content and Storytelling

• Oversee the development of high-quality, compelling content that showcases the Charity’s impact
• Lead on the production of the Charity’s supporter magazine Progress and key publications, including Annual and Impact Reports
• Work closely with clinical teams, patients and supporters to source authentic, engaging stories.

Campaigns and Partnerships

• Lead PR activity for flagship campaigns and events, including The Banham Marsden March, Celebrate a Life, and the Ever After Garden
• Support major fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships and new product launches
• Collaborate with Marketing and Digital teams to maximise reach across channels.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong relationships across the Charity, hospital and external partners
• Work closely with clinical teams, senior leadership, and celebrity/VIP stakeholders to maximise appropriate PR opportunities
• Ensure consistent and accurate representation of the Charity’s brand and messaging.

About You

We are looking for a confident and strategic communications leader with strong charity sector experience.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in PR and communications within the charity sector
• A proven track record of delivering impactful PR strategies and campaigns
• Strong media relations expertise, including handling complex and sensitive issues
• Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
• Experience producing publications such as annual reports or magazines
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Support Services Manager to lead BBS UK’s support services for children, adults and families living with Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS). 

BBS UK is a national charity supporting people affected by this rare genetic condition. We work closely with NHS specialist clinics and other services to help individuals and families access the support they need and navigate health, education, social care and welfare systems.

The role includes team leadership, safeguarding responsibility and service development. You will help ensure people receive safe, responsive and person-centred support while continuing to improve and strengthen our services. 

About the Role 

As Support Services Manager, you will oversee BBS UK’s clinics support and advice services. Working closely with the CEO, NHS clinics and partner organisations, you will: 

• Lead and support a small remote-working team

• Provide supervision and safeguarding leadership to Patient Liaison Officers and Advice Workers

• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the organisation

• Oversee caseloads, service quality and risk management

• Support staff wellbeing, learning and development

• Build positive relationships with NHS and external partners

• Help develop and improve BBS UK’s support services

This is a home-based role with travel to specialist clinics in London and Birmingham, plus occasional meetings and events. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with BBS UK policies.

We are looking for a CRM Specialist to maintain and develop Blood Cancer UK’s CRM, ensuring high-quality, reliable and compliant data that enables teams across the organisation to deliver against our strategy. Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Journey Development & Design

· Lead the end‑to‑end design of supporter journeys working collaboratively across all the organisation, taking an audience led approach in achieving our income, engagement and influence objectives, joining the dots and identifying opportunities for cross sell, upsell and integration of offers throughout a supporter's relationship with us.

· Oversea the mapping and optimisation of lifecycle journeys, ensuring they are insight‑driven, segmented, and aligned with organisational goals towards a cure.

Responsible for ensuring your teams are expert in our martech, and use testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate), data and performance insights to optimise journeys performance.

· Lead for automation of journeys within our martech, balancing efficiencies on resource with excellent supporter experiences.

· Lead for data, compliance and technical troubleshooting.

Data Selections & Audience Targeting

· Responsible for making audience targeting decisions ensuring accurate, timely, and insight‑led targeting for all fundraising and engagement activity.

· Working collaboratively with the BI team to ensure the development and application of data modelling and propensity models to predict supporter behaviour models that support tailored communications and efficient campaign delivery.

· Work closely with Data and Analytics teams to maintain data quality and optimise selection processes, and work with insight and BI to translate performance outputs into actionable recommendations for optimising our supporter journey performance.

· Ensure robust documentation, governance, and continuous improvement of data targeting and selection workflows

· Work collaboratively with the digital analytics team to ensure a strong connection between web and paid digital activity to avoid siloes across the stages of a supporter's experience with ARUK.

Supporter Loyalty & Stewardship Communications

· Lead the creation of loyalty‑focused communications that build long‑term relationships and increase lifetime value and deliver on our supporter experience principles – including communications such as Cure Magazine and E-newsletter.

· Work collaborative with Senior Supporter Relations Manager to develop stewardship frameworks that recognise and thank supporters at key moments – including the coordination of an ARUK approach supporter Christmas and Seasonal greetings.

· Ensure collaboration within these organisational supporter loyalty communications is effective leading for RACI and levels of approval.

· Lead for your team adhering to GDPR-aligned audience management and safe data activation.

Leadership & Collaboration

· Manage and develop a multi‑disciplinary team across your key responsibilities, fostering a culture of audience led, testing, continuous improvement and joined up thinking, planning and delivery.

· Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across fundraising, digital, brand, data, insight, info services, policy and campaigning, and research teams to ensure alignment and shared priorities.

· Responsible for keeping up to date on latest thinking, tools and technology for delivering effective Supporter Experiences, working closely with our Salesforce Technical Product Owner. And represent the charity in conferences, networking and influencing within the sector.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Extensive experience in supporter or customer journey design, CRM‑driven marketing personalisation and data automation

· Strong understanding of email marketing and supporter journey platforms and infrastructure, automation tools, and CRM systems.

· Familiarity of audience targeting segmentation and data selections.

· Familiarity with propensity modelling, predictive analytics, or working alongside data science teams.

We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team, who will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing and Compliance

• Support young people to understand and comply with their occupancy agreements, including coaching them to meet house rules and responsibilities as part of preparing for successful independent living.
• Promote a strong rent‑payment and credit culture, encouraging residents to maintain regular payments and understand their financial obligations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and statutory requirements affecting young people, ensuring practice aligns with current housing law and organisational policies.
• Respond promptly and effectively to breaches of agreement, including rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, or property damage, using restorative approaches where appropriate and working collaboratively with the wider team.

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community.
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.

Key responsibilities:

1. Main Purpose of the Job

• To ensure the panel reflects AvMA’s values and that where possible the panel is managed in line with our strategic plan.

• To manage and oversee the operation of the specialist AvMA clinical negligence panel to include ensuring the qualifying requirements for panel applicants are relevant and up to date and reflect any important medical and legal developments.

• The assessment of panel applications and interviewing of Applicants. Convening meetings of the panel committee, drafting agendas for those meetings and identifying issues to be discussed.

• Identify ways for the AvMA panel application process to become more streamlined, efficient and supportive of lawyers making panel applications. To develop the process to ensure it is fit for purpose, relevant and continues to meet the needs of the public.

• Ensuring the AvMA database of panel membership and special interests is kept up to date. Giving informal advice to solicitors enquiring about panel membership requirements, liaising and meeting with firms as required.

• Travelling and attending key networking events, including AvMA’s three-day (2 overnight stays) annual conference and AvMA annual panel meeting (usually held end Nov, beginning December), engaging with potential AvMA panel applicants, promoting the benefits of accreditation and the junior scheme (Certificates Competence Scheme (CCS)), keeping up to date with medical and legal developments. Speaking at panel meetings and generally to promote the panel.

• Working with the conference department to identify relevant topics for panel meetings and conference events.

• To improve on the current re-accreditation process to make it more streamlined and user friendly for applicants.

• To ensure relevant data from panel applications is captured on the CRM. Regular analysis of panel data, findings shared with AvMA senior leadership team and more widely where appropriate.

• To pursue AvMA’s EDI strategy by considering ways in which the panel can be developed to ensure panel members are as ethnically diverse as possible.

• To liaise with AvMA’s conference department to advise on any training which may be required to strengthen AvMA panel members knowledge and information base.

• To work with the Director Medico Legal services in assessing applications for Certificate of Competence Scheme (CCS) for juniors. To update and work on the Certificates Competence Scheme including organising applicant feedback to ensure this scheme continues to be fit for purpose. To inform and work with panel applicant mentors in strengthening the scheme.

• To deliver on administrative requirements such as quarterly reports for trustees, working with AvMA’s Service Delivery Quality and Outreach Committee (SDQOC) as required to update on continued improvement of AvMA Panel Accreditation Scheme.

• Dealing with queries raised by AvMA Panel applicants and/or juniors who may have had their applications rejected.

• Ensuring AvMA panel template letters and documents are updated

• From time to time speaking publicly about requirements for AvMA panel membership, common pitfalls and how to overcome them as well as other matters relating to panel.

• To consider client complaints about panel members to determine whether the threshold for disciplinary action under AvMA’s Panel procedures is met.

• To manage disciplinary procedure for AvMA Panel members, identify and liaise with adjudicators, prepare documentation, set up the hearing.

• To manage appeals against rejection of an application for accreditation/reaccreditation, liaise with adjudicators.

• To keep on top of any government, regulatory or other policy changes which may affect the way in which patients can access justice, recover damages and seek redress for adverse clinical outcomes, as well as any improvements or impediments to lawyers undertaking this work.

• To develop and grow the AvMA panel accreditation and Certificates Competence scheme membership; to identify cost efficiencies and maximum engagement with AvMA accredited panel solicitors.

2. Skills and Experience

Administration of the AvMA Panel

The bulk of the administration and management tasks do not require specialist skills; however, assistance is provided by the PA to the CEO when required.

AvMA has a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) driven computer system throughout the organisation, the introduction has been phased and the applicant should be confident enough with sufficient IT skills to onboard the new system. The CRM works with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a data driven software solution which is intended to manage, track and store information. AvMA considers IT to be an ongoing commitment and the new panel accreditation manager should be willing to consider ways in which AvMA can maximise the impact of the CRM to improve services and data collection on key issues identified from panel related activities.

Tasks such as updating and preparing new panel application documents and report forms will require medical and legal input, the panel application interview process will involve discussions about topical medico legal issues and for this reason the post would suit someone who has a legal background, ideally qualified as a solicitor or barrister, preferably with clinical negligence accreditation. A a medical background would be helpful.

Assessment of new applications, interviews and dealing with correspondence

The Panel Accreditation Manager is primarily responsible for the assessment of new panel accreditation applications.

The role of Panel Accreditation Manager would suit someone who has practised as a claimant clinical negligence lawyer who is looking to draw on their expertise and experience in a new role.The successful applicant should be confident in assessing former peers and colleagues in a fair and impartial way.

The nature of this work is such that the Panel Accreditation Manager can come into possession of sensitive information, discretion and respecting confidentiality are key qualities for this role. 

Reaccreditations

Reaccreditation assessments are done internally by the Panel Accreditation Manager, occasionally assistance can be provided by members of the internal panel assessment team.

AvMA aims to make reaccreditations more straightforward for practitioners and the new appointee will be expected to liaise with the profession to understand where they consider the biggest hurdles to reaccreditation lie and to consider how these can be overcome without compromising standards. 

AvMA receives a minimum of 15 applications for reaccreditation per annum, however numbers are usually considerably higher, up to 30 per annum.It is thought that the reaccreditation process could be designed to be more streamlined and user friendly for both the applicant and in house.

Other AvMA Panel assessments

In addition to assessing AvMA panel applications and reaccreditations the Panel Accreditation Manager will need to assess applications from accredited panel members who have changed firms.

Change of firm applications tend to be straightforward if the applicant has been on the panel for some time and is going to a firm where there is another AvMA panel member but the process is more in depth for those going to a firm which does not have another AvMA panel member.  The Panel Application Manager needs to be confident that the new firm can meet the minimum standards and supervision requirements required of a first time panel application. 

There are about 5 applications for changes of firm rising to a maximum of 10 per annum. 

Interim Reviews

From time to time first time applicants may demonstrate that they largely meet the core criteria for AvMA Panel membership but there may be some areas that require improvement.In those cases, AvMA can award the applicant AvMA panel status subject to a review sometime later.The Panel Accreditation Manager is responsible for following up that review and examining progress made.The review is an opportunity to identify if the applicant has succeeded in strengthening the areas of weakness identified.If they have not, they risk losing their AvMA panel status entirely. 

There are about 3 interim reviews per annum, currently not exceeding 6. 

3. Other

• To support the Events Department’s quality initiatives and to suggest continuing improvements where needs arise.

• To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as may be required.

Job Purpose

The Project and Engagement Coordinator will play a central role in the implementation, coordination and day-to-day delivery of the Partners for Change project. Hosted by Stay and working across the wider partnership, the postholder will help ensure that the project delivers a high-quality, joined-up, trauma-informed and person-centred response to homelessness, rough sleeping, housing insecurity, multiple disadvantage and crisis across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

This is both an operational and strategic role. The postholder will coordinate activity across partners, support delivery against agreed outputs and outcomes, manage data and reporting requirements, and help maintain strong communication, consistency and shared practice across the project.

A key part of the role will be the direct line management and operational oversight of the Intensive Support Workers. The Project and Engagement Coordinator will provide leadership, supervision, caseload oversight, quality assurance and day-to-day guidance to the Intensive Support Worker team, ensuring that support is well coordinated, responsive, safe and effective.

The role will also lead on engagement activity linked to the project, including partnership working, community engagement, peer support approaches, co-production, service development and the promotion of client voice. The postholder will help act as the operational bridge between frontline delivery, partner coordination, and project performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination and Delivery

• Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the Partners for Change project across the partnership.

· Support the effective delivery of a county-wide, joined-up service for people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping, housing insecurity, multiple disadvantage and crisis.

• Help ensure that project activity remains aligned with agreed aims, outputs, outcomes, funding requirements, and partnership commitments.
• Monitor progress across key areas of delivery and identify issues, risks, gaps, or delays requiring action.
• Work closely with partner organisations to support consistent and coordinated operational practice.
• Help maintain clear communication between delivery partners to ensure a seamless and person-centred service offer.

• Allocate and oversee caseloads, areas of work and priorities to ensure an effective, safe and balanced outreach response.
• Monitor staff workload, performance, wellbeing and professional development.
• Carry out regular one-to-one supervision, case discussions, support reviews and appraisal processes in line with organisational policy.
• Provide reflective practice support and help staff respond effectively to challenging, complex and high-risk situations.
• Promote consistent standards of trauma-informed, person-centred, strengths-based and professionally accountable practice.

· Support induction, training, development and ongoing quality improvement within the Intensive Support Worker team.

• Ensure outreach delivery is well coordinated and responsive to both urgent need and planned support.

3. Oversight of Outreach Delivery

• Oversee the operational delivery of intensive outreach support across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
• Ensure outreach activity is targeted appropriately towards people who are rough sleeping, homeless, at risk of homelessness, in crisis, excluded from services, or experiencing multiple disadvantage.

· Ensure support is accessible and responsive for people experiencing multiple disadvantage and for those in crisis, including individuals who may face barriers to engagement with mainstream services.

• Support the team to deliver holistic assessments, support plans, urgent interventions, advocacy, referrals, and warm handovers.
• Monitor outreach caseloads, client journeys, and support outcomes to help ensure effective and timely intervention.
• Help identify patterns of need, service gaps and barriers to engagement, and respond to these through operational planning and partnership discussion.
• Promote high standards of client engagement, safeguarding practice, risk management, professional boundaries and record keeping.
• Provide additional support or escalation where cases are particularly complex, high risk or blocked.

4. Partnership Working and Multi-Agency Coordination

• Act as a key operational link between Stay, The Shrewsbury Ark, KiP and other external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with local authorities, housing providers, health services, voluntary organisations and community groups.
• Contribute to a coordinated county-wide response by supporting shared planning, communication and problem solving across agencies.
• Attend and contribute to partnership meetings, case coordination meetings, strategy discussions and service development forums.
• Help ensure that referrals, pathways and inter-agency communication are clear, effective and person-centred.
• Work collaboratively to reduce duplication, close gaps between services and improve continuity of support for clients.

5. Monitoring, Data and Reporting

• Oversee the collection, recording and monitoring of project activity, outputs and outcomes.
• Support the effective use of shared case management and reporting systems, including In-Form or other agreed systems.

· Check that Intensive Support Workers and relevant project partners maintain timely, accurate and high-quality records.

• Collate data, narrative updates, case studies and evidence of impact for internal monitoring and external reporting.
• Contribute to reports for funders, managers, trustees and partnership governance arrangements as required.
• Monitor progress against targets and help identify where corrective action or additional support is needed.
• Support a culture of evidence-led delivery, accountability and continuous learning.

6. Client and Community Engagement and Volunteering

· Lead community engagement activities to raise awareness of homelessness and rough sleeping.

· Build relationships with local communities, stakeholders, schools, faith groups, businesses, and partner agencies.

· Support the development of communications, events, and engagement opportunities that promote the project and encourage community involvement.

· Help coordinate volunteer involvement, including supporting recruitment, induction, and ongoing engagement in partnership with delivery teams.

· Contribute to wider service development, co-production, and tenancy-readiness activities to strengthen the overall partnership offer.

7. Service Development and Quality Improvement

• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the project model and operational practice.
• Support the development and facilitation of co-production opportunities, ensuring people with lived experience are involved in service planning, feedback, and continuous improvement of the project.
• Identify learning from delivery, feedback, case trends and data, and use this to inform service improvement.
• Support consistency in standards, approaches and quality across partners where possible.
• Help embed trauma-informed, anti-discriminatory, inclusive and psychologically informed ways of working.
• Contribute to shared learning opportunities, best-practice sessions and reflective discussions across the partnership.

8. Safeguarding, Risk and Compliance

• Experience of coordinating projects, services or multi-agency work in a housing, homelessness, community, health, social care or voluntary sector setting.
• Experience of supporting or managing staff in a frontline service environment.
• Experience of working with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or affected by multiple disadvantage.

· Experience of working with people in crisis and those facing multiple disadvantage, including individuals who may be excluded from or unable to engage with mainstream services.

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based practice.
• Experience of partnership working and building effective relationships across organisations and sectors.
• Ability to coordinate operational delivery, manage competing priorities and maintain oversight of multiple workstreams.
• Experience of case oversight, support planning, referrals, safeguarding and risk management.
• Experience of monitoring performance, maintaining records and contributing to reporting requirements.

This role combines project coordination, staff management, partnership working and frontline service oversight. The postholder will be expected to work with people experiencing crisis, exclusion and multiple disadvantage, and to support staff working in complex community settings.
