Job description

Are you passionate about improving river health and supporting nature-based solutions? We’re looking for an Eden Catchment and Cluster Officer to lead a focused programme of work within the Eden Catchment in Kent. This largely rural area includes towns such as Oxted, Edenbridge, Godstone, and Lingfield, with agricultural land use playing a key role in catchment pressures.

In this role, you’ll take the lead in understanding environmental challenges, engaging stakeholders, and driving initiatives that improve water quality and slow the flow. You’ll also play a vital part in supporting the Eden Valley Farm Cluster, working alongside partners Bore Place and SES Water to deliver nature recovery projects.

What you’ll do

  • Catchment Review
    • Lead a comprehensive review of the Eden Catchment, combining desk-based research and fieldwork.
    • Identify, map, and prioritise environmental pressures.
    • Explore opportunities for nature-based solutions and partnership funding.
  • Reporting
    • Produce clear reports with findings, recommendations, and progress updates.
    • Deliver regulatory reporting outputs and present evidence to SES Water’s Environmental Scrutiny Panel.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Facilitate the Eden Valley Farm Cluster, organising meetings and events.
    • Identify funding opportunities for the Cluster’s Nature Recovery Scheme.
    • Build strong relationships with landowners, partners, and stakeholders to support collaborative approaches.

About you

  • Strong understanding of catchment management and environmental pressures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage projects, analyse data, and produce clear reports.
  • Experience in partnership working and funding identification is desirable.

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a team working to restore and protect rivers and their catchments. Your work will make a real difference to the health of the Eden Catchment and the communities it supports.

Interested? Apply now and help us create a healthier, more resilient catchment, see the full job description for more information.
