We’re looking for someone with experience of both campaigning, including an understanding of the basic tools and techniques used in campaigning, and of working with volunteers and services users, including how best to support them to achieve their campaigning goals.

About the role 

You’ll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across Wales. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people in local communities affected by Parkinson’s. You’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with volunteers and colleagues in the wider Wales team to do focussed campaigning and advocacy work. 

Through co-production you’ll ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers are heard by decision makers.

What you’ll do:

• Support the development and delivery of campaigns activity for Wales and proactively identify opportunities for public-facing campaigns.

• Recruit and manage a sustainable community of campaign volunteers.

• Use our national campaign priorities to deliver related local campaign activity.

• Organise and deliver training events for people with lived experience who wish to engage as well as campaign volunteers.

• Create content for public facing elements of campaigns, including supporter actions, web pages, newsletter and social media.

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to network and build supportive relationships with volunteers, MSs/MPs and health bodies. 

• Ability to work independently, coproductively and as a part of a team. 

• Experience in organising events. 

• Experience of delivering training to a variety of audiences 

• Excellent written and oral communication and client care skills, including a confident phone manner and an ability to produce inspiring content to motivate volunteers and staff.

This is a key role working with teams from across Teenage Cancer Trust to shape our digital content strategy. Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. Working arrangements

About you

With an interest in, and understanding of the external political environment, you'll have a good understanding of the workings of the UK Government and parliamentary procedure. About this job

Please note this role is part-time 21 hours/or 3 days a week.

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.

This role requires working flexible hours, including 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm between Monday to Friday to meet services and volunteer needs (3 days a week).

If you’re passionate about offering high quality information and emotional support and have relevant Helpline experience, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be providing continuous support to all our volunteers at the Helpline team, directly contributing in providing information and support to our Helpline enquirers, with both proactive and reactive content and information on prevalent topics or trends affecting the MS community.

The role

As Welfare Officer you will work alongside four National Support Coordinators, ensuring our members receive welfare and benefit related information, advice, and guidance via telephone, zoom meetings, and email.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

The myasthenia’s are a group of neuromuscular conditions. Purpose of Post

To produce major outdoor events as part of an ambitious new Plan for the City of London, which is set to transform its attractiveness, and to build on its reputation as a destination that is fun, inclusive, sustainable, and welcoming. To support the Events Manager in planning, executing and establishing an annual programme of high impact 'must do' major events that are bold, popular, inclusive, sustainable and truly stand out in the national calendar.
To deliver value to defined audience groups, inviting people to share in the City's unique treasures and providing them with memorable opportunities to experience these through the events programme.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Undertake planning, coordination, production and stakeholder-relations duties for the major events programme.
• Manage internal approval processes, including required applications to Highways, Environmental Health, City Surveyor's and other internal teams.
• Coordinate production logistics, including infrastructure, power, cleansing and security.
• Support the Events Manager by ensuring compliance across licencing, health and safety and other areas; creating, collecting and processing relevant event documents supported by the role (e.g. risk assessment and method statements, public liability insurance certification etc).
• Support the Events Manager to programme and schedule major event content, contributing ideas, assessing timings in relation to the proposed calendar, and advising on logistics.
• Attend all events designated for the role and assume an event/stage manager function as appropriate, responding to any issues as they arise during the event (deferring to the Events Manager where necessary) and ensuring that the highest standards of production and visitor experience are maintained at all times.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure all relevant teams are aware of the events programme, there are no clashes with the wider organisation's events calendar and all relevant information is circulated internally and communicated effectively.
• Be the main point of contact for artists, event producers, production teams, agencies, suppliers and contractors regarding all event specifications and requirements.
• Support the Events Manager so that all events are delivered on time and to budget, updating budgets and records as required.

• Experience required

• Project management qualification or significant experience of managing event-based projects, ideally (but not essentially) within a cultural or tourism context.
• Training (or good level of experience) in compliance, to include licencing, health and safety, crowd management and/or traffic management.
• Experience of managing cultural events, ideally in an outdoor context. .

• The ability to multitask, prioritise and manage multiple events and projects against challenging deadlines.
• Proven event and stage management skills with demonstrable experience of planning and delivering events
• A well-organised and methodical approach to event planning and delivery.
• The ability to think on your feet; to crisis manage and take corrective action at events if required.
• Demonstrable ability to work closely / communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to discuss detailed arrangements for events and form successful working relationships with people at all levels.
• A demonstrable interest in the culture, the creative industries and/or public events.

Working hours: 35 hours p/w (Mon-Fri); occasional evening, weekend and Bank Holiday work at events will be required with TOIL offered in return.

The last few years have seen a huge increase in awareness of violence against women and girls, and support for our work. With this crucial human rights issue on the public and political agenda like never before, now is the time to disrupt the status quo and lay the foundations for a different world. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

EVAW’s communications officer will help inform the public and media stakeholders about violence against women and girls (VAWG), influence narratives about this abuse and inspire change.

Responsibilities include growing our online presence and media profile, creating engaging (audio)visual content and writing accessible and informative press releases, web pieces, social media posts and more.

The postholder will have an eye for design and a finger on the pulse of current trends, with strong written skills, a commitment to accessibility, and an understanding of social change and the UK’s media landscape.

You are likely to have some experience in a communications, media or campaigns context, working on VAWG or another human rights/equalities issue, and will be seeking an opportunity to work in a highly impactful, agile and dynamic feminist organisation.

Whether practical or academic, paid or voluntary, a background in VAWG will of course be an asset. You’ll need to show us you have a good understanding of VAWG, can communicate complex issues with clarity and impact, and are committed to intersectional feminism.
