The Opportunity

We are seeking a Programme Officer to join our Work Experience Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic and confident individual to join us in a role which has responsibility for ensuring suitable and safe work experience placements are sourced, managed and available for students. Our Work Experience programme provides a taster of the ‘World of Work’ helping to raise career aspirations and support academic progression.  Our team work with local and central London employers and education providers and provide placements for over 5,000 young people each academic year. 

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• To secure, update and manage work experience placements.
• To handle telephone enquiries about the work experience programme, communicating with teachers, employers, parents and schools.
• To be a key point of contact for schools/educational establishments managing and overseeing the work experience process.
• To produce information and provide support to the Head of Work Experience and other team members.
• Completing one-to-one interviews with students with additional needs to ensure suitable placements are secured.
• Managing placements using a bespoke IT system.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.
 

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with previous experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have a proven track record of writing funding proposals for trusts and foundations, excellent relationship management and impeccable written communication skills.
 

Job location

London, UK (hybrid with up to three days on site per week). May include international travel.

Development and Outreach Manager

Salary range

£32,600 rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.

Contract

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development, grant management and reporting

•  Develop concept notes and proposals, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with Girls Not Brides’ priorities and with donor requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets, work plans, and other supporting materials for grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Support in monitoring grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accountability.
• Prepare timely and accurate donor reports and updates.
   

Donor cultivation and stewardship

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors to expand Girls Not Brides’ network and strengthen collaborations. 
   

Fundraising strategy

• Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to diversify and increase Girls Not Brides’ funding base, in alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including trusts and foundations, governments and corporates.
• Collaborate with Girls Not Brides’ internal teams (regional, finance, communications, learning and impact teams) to maximise fundraising opportunities.
   

Outreach events

•  Support the team in the planning and implementation of events and outreach work throughout the year, working with other teams in the Secretariat, our members and partners.
•  Represent Girls Not Brides at meetings, conferences, and events to network with existing and potential donors, to promote the organisation's mission and impact.

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for Global Black Thrive involvement in the Culture of Care Programme liaising with the Lived Experience Advisors, the Race Equity Lead, Neurodiverse Connections, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and NHS England.

The role

As the motion design producer at Breast Cancer Now, you’ll play a key role in helping bring our work to life.

You’ll be creating high quality, engaging content about our life-changing research, campaigning, fundraising, services and health information. And you’ll be part of the multimedia team, where we produce video, photography, motion design and audio that help strengthen our brand and tell our story.

Reporting to the senior multimedia manager, you’ll be producing motion design projects that cover all aspects of the organisation. This includes producing multiple small and large-scale motion projects throughout the year to support major campaigns and projects. Experience of producing long and short-form content with an eye towards social trends is also desirable.

The role may require some work on larger video and photography projects throughout the year to support the wider team, so any skills in video production, video editing or photography would be an advantage.

About you

You’ll have a keen interest in all things motion design and have a good portfolio of work to show this. You’ll be hard-working and highly motivated, with a flexible approach to your work. And you’ll be used to working in a busy team environment and able to work on your own initiative.

Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll be working with teams across the charity, supporters and people affected by breast cancer. 

You must have considerable experience using adobe creative suite, particularly after effects, illustrator, photoshop and premiere. Any knowledge of blender or other 3D software would also be welcome.

Elders Voice is a local charity serving older people in Brent. We are recruiting a CEO to lead our talented and experienced staff team through a period of change to ensure our financial security.

Elders Voice is an established and trusted charity in the heart of Kensal Green. We believe ageing should be a wonderful and worthwhile journey, but for that to happen older people need to feel safe and happy in their homes and have access to affordable activities in an environment that embraces their differences. 

The pillars of our work are a well-respected handyperson service and a day centre offering a range of activities focusing on health and well-being, socialising, art, gardening and intergenerational work with and for older people.

The CEO will need to embrace our aims and lead the EV team to provide services based on holistic, long-term, high-quality relationships and to ensure that older people shape development of our services. In this difficult economic environment, we need to explore new funding opportunities and transition away from a reliance on local authority funding.

You will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and be supported by the board and a small, dedicated staff team.

We are looking for a reliable and committed person to be part of our team of advisors providing information, advice and emotional support to carers, working collaboratively with colleagues and other organisations to achieve this.  Experience of providing such support is essential and prior working with carers desirable.

The work is primarily telephone based, but there are times when face to face support is required.The role may also include undertaking talks and presentations to both promote and raise awareness of the service and our organisation.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure that unpaid carers have access to the information and advice they need when they need it and to help them carry on caring for how long as they wish to do so whilst looking after their own health.

Main duties

(i) To be the first point of contact for all unpaid carer wishing to access a service provided by Carers in Hertfordshire

(ii) To identify carers’ needs and provide information, advice and support to unpaid carers, primarily by telephone and email

(iii) To support unpaid carers with advice through case work and to manage own caseload, prioritising cases as appropriate.

(iv) To contribute to capturing unpaid carers’ experiences through careful record-keeping using organisational systems.

(v) To source, collate and maintain organisational knowledge of local and national service provision appropriate to unpaid carers’ needs.

(vi) To attend some meetings and events for unpaid carers.

(vii) To support the early identification of unpaid carers through the maintenance of collaborative relationships with other service providers and the provision of information on unpaid carers’ issues to Carers in Hertfordshire’s provider networks. 

(viii) To ensure unpaid carers are aware of all Carers in Hertfordshire services and can use them, according to their wishes.

The salary band for this role is £24,000 - £27,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. 

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.

This role and why it’s important 

It's critical to our mission that we understand how and why young people become involved in violence. The YEF’s work combines conducting rigorous evaluations and research studies with hearing directly from young people. It is also important to us that young people are central to the messages we share externally.

Your role involves ensuring that young people’s perspectives are heard and integrated into our work. This includes supporting our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and helping young people’s voices play a central part in YEFs external communications.

This role also supports the wider team managing grants, contracts and providing general team support.

Key responsibilities: 

1. Youth Advisory Board support: 

• Plan engaging activities for YAB meetings and events. These activities require working some evenings and occasional weekends. 

• Provide support and pastoral care to YAB members, including personal development planning and safeguarding.

• Help recruit YAB members (young people aged 16 –25) through interviews and managing recruitment. 

• Develop and schedule the YAB induction programme for new members. 

• Monitor attendance and engagement of YAB members. 

• Coordinate YAB attendance at external events. 

2. Facilitating Youth Voice in communications: 

• Act as a bridge between the YAB and our external communications team. 

• Work with the communications team to amplify young people's voices on social media. 

• Assist young people in sharing their views and stories through various communication methods. 

3. Managing grants and contracts: 

• Maintain records of payments and tasks using Salesforce. 

• Assist stakeholders and team members in using Salesforce effectively. 

• Support in procurement processes and grant management by organising documents and scheduling meetings. 

• Proactively identify and address issues. 

4. Collaboration and support: 

• Work closely with other roles (including our Operations and Culture team) within YEF to ensure coordinated efforts and sharing of best practices.

• You believe in young people: You have worked with young people and know the huge potential young people have to bring change. You have experience and knowledge of adhering to safeguarding processes, and are able to be flexible to suit young people’s needs - understanding when plans need to change at short notice.

• You’re passionate about helping young people to be heard: You have some experience in using media/social media to tell young people’s stories and are keen to learn more.

• You’re able to juggle many diverse tasks at once: You enjoy moving between different types of projects, whether that be leading YAB sessions, supporting the development of young people one-to-one or creating exciting content with young people. You prefer a job that looks different every day. You don’t get overwhelmed by a long to-do list and can effectively identify what’s most important and how to balance different priorities. 

• You’re brilliant at improving and organising things: You like finding ways to make things operate better for everyone. You enjoy bringing order to what is going on. You’re good at getting your head around how a process works and improving it. It’s a plus if you’ve used the Salesforce system before, but not a requirement.

We are looking for 2 people to join the dynamic and friendly Rent Service Team in Assistant Rent Service Partner roles.

This busy team processes Housing Benefit payments from 55 local authorities in the UK for up to 4000 St Mungo’s residents; and collect over £45 million in rent and service charge plays a key role in the organisation to support clients to rebuild their lives. In this role you will:

• Provide administrative support to the Rent Service Team to facilitate early intervention of rent arrears overall.
• Be responsible for a caseload of up to 750 residents; working proactively to support clients in prevention of rent arrears within your designated caseload.
• Use your sound influencing skills in the recovery of former tenant rent arrears.
• Communicate effectively to provide high levels of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you will be required to work for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week, from home.

The Programme Officer role will report to the Programme Manager and sit within the Programmes Team.

The Programme Officer will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a number of our services.  You will have a clear focus of delivering high quality programmes that are run smoothly, efficiently, within budget and achieve the desired outcomes and objectives for both the partners and the young people.

You will support others within your team to deliver high quality programmes from programme initiation through to evaluation that will directly contribute to the company's growth strategy and impact.

The Programme Officer will also be a key member of the department and contribute to systems and maximising efficiency, delivering programme coordination to an excellent standard that produces high impact for our young people and partners.

In this role, you will work closely with our Youth Ambassadors, Facilitator Team and Digital Communications and Marketing team.

Main responsibilities

• Provide a trauma informed and restorative practices involving the supported individual, devise, review and update developmental support plans, record events and observations and keep appropriate records as require in the service
•  Support and contribute to the resourcing of interventions for residents in crisis situations, and/or manage physical risk or behaviour likely to cause incidents, in accordance with the individuals personal developmental support plan, risk management plan or service protocol
• u  To induct residents into the accommodation, ensuring the terms of the licence agreement is understood and all health and safety issues fully explained
• u  In line with Housingn related policies, provide support in a way which equips individuals and with the confidence and skills to live more independent and sustainable lives, both in services and within the wider community.
• u  Develop and maintain professional working relationships and good communication links with supported individuals, families/carers, recovery communities, service partners, funders and other stakeholders
• Attend and contribute to individual’s Support Reviews with partnership agencies
• To be confident in lone-working and to adhere to the Lone-working policy
•  To have a full understanding of fire safety and evacuation procedures
• To be proactive responsible to safeguard adults, young people, and children at risk of harm in accordance with local and national guidelines and procedures. This includes showing a commitment to promote organisation-wide awareness and understanding of safeguarding, undertaking best practice, and carrying out our legal and moral duties to respond to related concerns, disclosures, or allegations appropriately
• Take responsibility for own personal development and learning and participate in on-going training as directed for the maintenance and development of relevant skills required within the job role, including attendance at team meetings and respective supervision meetings
• Communication with line manfgement as well as undertake other tasks which may from time to time be required by the Chief Executive and Senior Management
• To respend/attend to emergency situations that arise in other support YMCA East Surrey supported accomodations and have a full understanding of the on-call process
• To cover the front reception desk of an evening and take any incoming calls and communications
• Continuously contribute to service development and improvement.

DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:To undertake a wide variety of tasks including delivering high quality support and personal development opportunities to young people in our supported accommodation. To flexibly respond to individual needs and assist individuals to have the maximum opportunities to direct the support in order to live as independent as possible.

Providing structured support in response to identified needs as documented in each young person’s developmental support plan and in a way that equips them with the confidence and skills towards living independently and sustainable.

Hours of work:  30 paid hrs per week (3 hrs unpaid lunch break)

Friday:5pm – 4am, Saturday: 5pm – 4am, Sunday:5pm –4am

Annual leave: Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
