Combat Stress is the UK's leading mental health charity for veterans. For over a century we've been helping former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today we provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service. We provide a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems. We provide services in-person, and via phone and online.
About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Planned Giving Officer to join our growing award winning team. We are responsible for both legacy fundraising and administration as well as in memory giving. This is a real growth area in the fundraising team and one you will be an integral part of.
You will be working with the Head of Planned Giving and the Senior Planned Giving Officer. This role will involve a certain amount of administration, complying with Charity Commission Guidelines. Also you will be helping with supporter enquiries and interactions so must be comfortable talking with supporters. This is an exciting role as you will be part of the team which ensures supporters are aware of how vital gifts in Wills are as well as sharing the work of Combat Stress.

Job Description
Communications:
- Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues
- Develop brand identity for Kineara’s new charitable arm, ensuring it is consistent across all activities in the organisation, while maintaining Kineara’s overall ‘look and feel’ to ensure coherence in branding, colours, messaging, style and approach.
- Oversee the creation, development, distribution of compelling, impact-driven story-telling about Kineara’s work and beneficiaries using interviews, blogs, case studies, etc.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. The Director of Corporate Services opportunity is a pivotal position overseeing Finance and Procurement as well as outsourced HR & IT. You will be joining the charity at a time of transformation, supporting in the delivery of a new strategy focussing on the delivery of core programmes for Lumos globally. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will work closely with the CEO, Trustees and wider global team to ensure the running of corporate services to enable Lumos’ work supporting children globally.
Duties will include though may not be limited to the following:
- Lead and develop the Finance department
- Maintain appropriate financial systems and sound controls, ensuring Lumos complies with all financial regulatory requirements
- Ensure comprehensive and reliable financial information is available to support financial decision-making processes
- Lead budgeting and forecasting with a strong focus on cash flow
- Provide financial information to the CEO, Board and its committees, including management accounts and regular cashflow forecasts
- As well as in-house finance and procurement, you will oversee outsourced contracts with HR & IT, identifying areas for improvement where necessary
- Identify and implement improvements to Lumos finance systems, procurement, and accounting practices
About You
You will be a qualified accountant with senior finance experience having operated at senior management level.
Experience in the charities and not-for-profit sector may be beneficial though candidates from all sector backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Headway is seeking a new Justice Programme Manager who will expand the current services to have a greater impact on police and probation services, improving knowledge and understanding and the support offenders with brain injuries receive.
We want someone who can both oversee the existing projects, such as our brain injury ID cards, whilst expanding the services in line with our new strategy, due to launch in the summer of 2024.
What will you do:
- Develop and implement a strategy for Headway’s work within the criminal justice system.
- Work with and develop key relationships across, police, probation services to improve knowledge and systems for offenders with brain injuries.
- Develop new justice related projects, including working with Headway’s fundraising team, to generate new income to expand the services.
- Work with the network of local Headway charities, to expand their work, within the justice system.
- Manage and deliver Headway’s justice related training initiatives.
- Oversee the successful delivery of Headway UK’s Brain Injury ID Card, including the line management of the project lead.
