One in seven people in the UK experience tinnitus. This role will positively and proactively innovate, manage and improve Tnnitus UK's services and build on the reputation of Tinnitus UK to date. This role leads Tinnitus UK's efforts in providing direct support to Tinnitus through multiple channels including telephone, and online. In addition liaises with regional support group leaders in the provision of support, face to face and locally. Given that Tinnitus UK is the only charity in the UIK to provide such services delivery of these services at the highest standard is essential and consequently enhances the reputation of the charity,
The position is responsible for the development of the strategic and annual plans associated with the provision of these support services, and has direct day to day responsibility for implementing them through multiple channels (helpline services, support group and volunteer programme, events) nationally in Tinnitus UK.
This role provides strategic oversight and management of the services portfolio (helpline services, support group and volunteer programme, events) nationally in Tinnitus UK. The post holder works with the Chief Exeutive and the rest of the Leadership team to deliver services, ensuring that goals are achieved through effective management practices, that staff are motivated and supported to build sustainable services to meet the needs and expectations of the tinnitus community and work closesly with research to remain up to date on the latest understanding of the issues that cause tinnitus and solutions that help address and mitigate the challenges facing sufferers. The role ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with statutory requirements, quality standards, information governance requiremens and organisational policies.
This role will maintain and develop Tinnitus UK's digital offerings, ensuring these are delivered in ways that help and encourage people to access our services now and in the future. This will include maintaining and monitoring existing services and developing, testing and embedding new ones.
Main Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement our services strategy
- Strategic and operational oversight of all Tinnitus UK's services to the tinnitus community, optimising both digital and traditional models and ensuring relevance and quality
- Innovatively improve and extend Tinnitus UK service provision, with a primary focus on people living with tinnitus, recognising that Support Services should be available at all times when people need them, calling for a strong digital capability
- Identify relevant people and organisations and build relationships to enable better support around the UK for poeple with tinnitus.
- Work with all staff to ensure Tinnitus UK's information and engagement services are understood and well delivered by all staff.
2. Intergrated approach to service user involvement
- Continually analyse and understand the needs of people with tinnitus, care givers, regional co-ordinators, partners and other stakeholders and develop appropriate services to meet them
- Ensure Tinnitus UK's support group network maintain best practice and work with colleagues to identify under-performing groups and develop action plans for improvement
- Establish links with key internal teams and external bodies, managing risk and helping to evaluate our involvement in partnerships and collaborative work.
3. Understanding the needs of the tinnitus community
- Run focus groups to fully understand the needs of people with tinnitus
4. Develop Tinnitus UK's outreach services to people who experience tinnitus
- Lead strategic development of Tinnitus UK's helpline and other outreach services.
- Identify gaps in tinnitus support service provision and work with colleagues to ensure they are filled
- Ensure connectivity between service users' journey across Tinnitus UK's services
- Oversee development of Tinnitus UK's chatbot function in relation to tinnitus support
5. Volunteering and placements
- Work with relevant staff to develop the programme for internal and external volunteering opportunities designed to enhance service delivery and encourage growth of individual volunteers
- Coordinate placements as and when required to ensure the organisation benefits from them
6. Events
- Work with relevant staff to implement a programme of events (conferences, awareness events, training courses) to meet the needs of the tinnitus community
- Lead the innovation of events, using digital and other tools to widen their availability to make them more diverse
7. Quality
- Lead Tinnitus UK's work to assess social impact and value
- Ensure Tinnitus UK's tinnitus support services are founded on evidence-based research and that our advice to people living with tinnitus remains accurate and appropriate in response to developments in the treatment of tinnitus.
- Work with colleagues to identify underperforming services and drive improvement of standards and quality
- Work with staff and volunteers to ensure a high quality information service
8. Leadership
- Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure oversight of strategic and operational matters and support the Chief Executive
- Lead the development and delivery of Tinnitus UK's annual operational business for Services and contribute to the overall charity's business plan
- Provide evidence, data and ideas to support the fundraising team to develop proposals to underpin Tinnitus UK services.
9. Drive change and maximise our potential
- Explore cost effective digital solutions that optimise our use of resources
- Apply management techniques, tools and solutions to drive the change and transition to greater use of digital tools in service delivery
10. General
- Co-ordinate and attend internal and external meetings and events
- Contribute to the general administrative running of Tinnitus UK
- Adhere to and promote Tinnitus UK's organisational values
- Show flexibility to carry out such other associated duties that may arise, develop or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the post

We are looking for someone who is outgoing and enthusiastic to join our Supporter Care team, who will carry out essential supporter engagement and administrative activities associated with marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials. The Supporter Care team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is often the first point of contact in the charity for supporters, potential donors and members of the public. The Supporter Care Administrator works alongside five other team Administrators handling supporter enquiries, processing donations, and thanking supporters to ensure an excellent standard of customer care and to generate the maximum amount of income for dementia research. This role reports to the Senior Supporter Care Officer (SSCO) and ensures that the team successfully deliver an efficient and a first-class supporter experience for the charity.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, due to a secondment. This role will you to be in the office 2-3 days per week depending on business needs.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Supporter engagement
· Answering inbound telephone calls; responding to a wide range of enquiries including marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials.
· Managing email enquiries, either by responding or forwarding as necessary.
· Responding to written enquiries received in the post.
· Making outbound telephone calls in order to increase the value of, or to retain supporters; including thanking, obtaining Gift Aid declarations and reactivating lapsed donors.
· Recording feedback received by the charity and assisting in the resolution of complaints.
· Champion high quality supporter care, ensuring that all supporters and members of the public have an excellent experience when contacting the charity.
Donation processing, database and general administration
· Processing donations from telephone calls and mailings, acknowledging supporters appropriately.
· In Memoriam giving; sending out materials, processing donations and sending appropriate acknowledgements to donors, Funeral Directors, and the Next of Kin.
· Regular giving; processing new Direct Debit instructions and Standing Order payments, amending and cancelling gifts as necessary.
· Processing and thanking donations relating to regional fundraising and sporting events.
· Ensuring the integrity of the database (currently Salesforce), by amending supporter details as necessary.
· Opening and batching incoming post.
· Updating team procedures as required.
· Archiving, scanning and filing documents.

· Confidence working with computers – good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases.

Additional Information:

Who are we looking for?
You will be a determined and passionate individual who wants to make a real difference to critically injured patients in London. You will have experience in developing and delivering robust supporter engagement, acquisition and retention campaigns.
The purpose of the Senior Direct Marketing Officer’s role is to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity.
Working closely with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, you will manage campaign activity, from briefing through to execution, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement within the programme, particularly with regards to retention and delivery of the supporter journey.
You will be responsible for multi-channel donor acquisition, retention, upgrade and cross-sell campaigns across digital channels, print, telephone and provide occasional support to our successful Face to Face programme. The role
Reporting to the Events and Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role as part of the Fundraising Team by providing the highest levels of fundraising and event administration support to ensure the provision of seamless, excellent supporter care and assistance to our supporters. Specific fundraising streams will include, but not be limited to, London Marathon, Other Runs and Challenges, Community Fundraising, Special Events and other streams as needed.
Whilst this role is primarily providing administrative and stewardship support for fundraising and event activities, there will be opportunities to be involved with all other aspects of the charity and the development of future fundraising initiatives and events.
The successful candidate will need to be a good team player, able to work independently; flexible; hard working and prepared to play an enthusiastic role in helping to deliver excellent supporter care and increased fundraising income. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
· Be a primary contact point for our London Marathon runners to provide excellent customer care and increase fundraising potential
· Answer general public and supporter enquiries that come in by telephone, email, social media and WhatsApp groups and mail in a way that makes them feel important and valued regardless of the nature of their enquiry
· Assist with the processing of all income (cash, cheques, online platform donations) correctly into the Donorfy database, and thank or pass to relevant team members for thanking in a timely manner
· Record as necessary enquiries, correspondence and responses on our Donorfy database
· Be a primary point of contact for our Challenge Event fundraisers. Build excellent relationships with them and provide materials and support, liaising before, during and following their activity/event as needed
· To work with the team to provide support for key fundraising activities such as the London Marathon and other challenge and running events. This will include assisting with event administration, proactively making telephone calls in response to applications for places in London Marathon and to encourage fundraising, answering telephone calls, responding to emails WhatsApp and Facebook messages, thanking participants, sending materials to participants and updating records on Donorfy
· Monitoring Social Media and assisting with providing content for these channels/platforms
· Communications support: this may include contributing content for appeals, website and enewsletters and will include monitoring stewardship schedules and deadlines where needed
· Act as liaison for BRUK’s administration where needed with our fulfilment house and/or other suppliers
· Liaise with finance and/or Head of Fundraising as required

Main purpose of post
The main purpose of this post it to work alongside the Events Manager and Fundraising team to help deliver a range of charity events, both Weston Park Cancer Charity led and third part events, throughout the year. This will also involve seeking out new opportunities and events that the charity can get involved with in order to continually grow the events portfolio year on year.
This Role will also involve working closely with our supporters, especially those attending/taking on an event for the charity by providing a high level of donor care.
We are looking for someone with a passion for events and the charity sector, and the ambition to help continually grow our event generated income.
What you do
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the Events Manager to plan, organise and deliver the Weston Park Cancer Charity key events across the year including: Doncaster Race Evening, Golf Days, Walk as One and Sing Under the Stars.
• Work with the Events Manager to deliver third party active events including: Skydive, Yorkshire Three Peaks and Great North Run.
• Provide support as well as lead on other events that the charity may be involved with throughout the year including hospital engagement events.
• Work with the Events Manager to continually develop the charity events portfolio for 2025 and beyond
• Provide high level donor care to support donors on their ‘journey’ for those taking on an event for the charity, through exploring opportunities to feel connected and enthusiastic about the work that we do. This will involve welcoming supporters, sending them good lucks and following up with them post event to see how they got on.
• Work closely with our fundraising platform, Raisely, to give our supporters the best stewardship journey possible.
• Seek new event opportunities that Weston Park Cancer Charity could partner with or be involved in.
• Keep up to date with current event trends
• Represent the charity at charity events across the region and the UK
• Understanding the opportunities for developing new relationships as well as retaining existing ones.
• Working on agreed targets and objectives to increase both awareness of the charity, and funding to maintain it’s vital services.
• Working as part of a supportive fundraising team to positively promote Weston Park Cancer Charity within South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.
• Support the whole fundraising team with innovative and creative ideas for income generation that make us stand out from the crowd.
• Ensure that all communication and interaction with donors is captured through the Fundraising database CRM System and that all donors are thanked timely and efficiently.

Volunteers
o Working with the CEO and Head of Support Services develop and deliver the Volunteering Strategy for the organisation.

o Deliver mandatory initial and ongoing training for volunteers.

o Collate statistics on helpline calls and report on this monthly.
Local Support Groups
o Support the establishment of online condition specific and new regional groups.
o Undertake visits to Local Support Groups as appropriate.
o Working with the Finance and Operations Manager support the groups to use funds they have raised.
Other Volunteers
o Support Office volunteers in their day to day work, being the first point of contact and allocating tasks.
o Working with the Head of Support Services contribute to the development of the Lived Experience Committee.
o Working with the Head of Fundraising support and engage Ambassador and Fundraising volunteers.
Support Service Coordination
o Ensure the CRM system is up to date with all Support Services information.
o Ensure all statistics relating to Support Services are up to date.
o Ensure Support Services’ phone systems and booked calls are effectively and efficiently set up.
o Ensure accurate record of all research and surveys we are asked to engage in and follow up on outcomes of that research.
o Undertake any small administrative duties as required.
o Where required, provide support in managing the helpline emails.
Support Services Events
o Lead on the development and delivery of three one day conference style events annually. These will be held throughout the UK and will offer panel discussions and networking for our community.
o In partnership with the wider team, occasionally represent The Foundation by running information stands, coordinating volunteers and preparing information for external events such as industry conferences.
o Where appropriate attend and present at external meetings.
o Support the management and delivery of the portfolio of online and in person events delivered by the Pituitary Foundation in conjunction with the wider team.

The Role
