Role Details

Location: Home based, with regular UK wide travel where required. Although the charity has national reach there is a particular focus on activity in Nottingham, Richard’s home town.

The CEO will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and overall management of the Richard Whitehead Foundation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a marketing and communications plans
• To have a hands-on approach to progressing the Richard Whitehead Foundation
• Regular contact with trustees most notably the Chair, and President.

• A Full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work
• Willingness to work outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends, is required. Your standard working hours will total 37 hours per week. During the summer months, from April to October, you will work 30 weeks from Sunday to Thursday, and in the winter months, from November to March, you will work 22 weeks from Monday to Friday.

Warm Welcome Campaign Operations Director

Location: Fully remote with flexible working arrangements

The Direct Marketing Executive will be responsible for the development of their supporter upgrade strategy and will be the primary decision maker on the programme. THE ROLE

· A recognised professional accounting qualification or part-qualification, together with a thorough practical understanding of financial and management accounting principles and techniques.

· Advanced working knowledge/experience of Excel and computerised accounting systems (preferably PS Financials) with the ability to interpret and extract relevant financial information.

· Ability to communicate complex financial information to a wide audience with varying financial backgrounds, both internally and externally

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership, advising the CEO and Board on financial direction and policy

• Lead the organisation’s budgeting, planning and reporting processes

• Manage and develop the Finance Team, embedding strong processes and financial controls

• Produce annual operating plans and oversee financial KPIs

• Act as Company Secretary for YMCA Trinity Group and its subsidiaries

Shooting Star Children's Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or whose child dies suddenly or unexpectedly. Rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement.

Its a great time to join Shooting Star Children's Hospices as we launched our Specialist Bereavement Service at the end of 2023 and we are now supporting more bereaved families than ever before, alongside our usual caseload of life-limited children and their siblings. Our team of arts therapists is expanding to ensure we can deliver care to those who need it.

We are looking for a Maintenance Team Member interested in being part of a vital team helping to support the day to day running of our properties for vulnerable families accessing our children’s hospice care, who has experience of working within maintenance environment. Ideally (but not essential) the successful candidate will possess some form of maintenance skill/qualification/experience (Painting & Decorating/Carpentry /Plumbing skills etc).

There is an out of hours “On Call” element to this position whereby the successful candidate will be required to go onto the “On Call” rota shared among other members of the maintenance team.

A full UK driving licence is essential as some work will take place at satellite sites.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and deliver a rolling programme of inclusive daytime events, including casual sports, entertainment, craft/hobby sessions, and intramural activities with student clubs.
2. Plan and run engaging events in the Engine Shed café/bar to increase footfall and create a social campus environment.
3. Build partnerships with local businesses and community groups to increase student engagement with the wider town and develop town-centre activations.
4. Coach and Support our Elected Officers with their independent campaign and event work, ensuring synergy between one’s own work, and that of the elected team.
5. Promote all events through digital channels and on-campus marketing.
6. Complete thorough risk assessments for all events, ensuring health, safety, and accessibility are prioritised.
7. Maintain accurate records of activities, feedback, and attendance to evaluate and improve impact.
8. Support wider Students’ Union events and cross-team campaigns as needed.
9. Support the Marketing Manager with the delivery of Open Day events and activities.

You’ll be leading one of the most vital elements of our future – growing and sustaining the income that allows us to deliver our compassionate end of life care and support, free of charge, to patients and their families. 

This role offers a rare opportunity to combine strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and cause-driven work within a significant, well-respected, values-led charity that is steadfastly committed to the needs of our community in Plymouth and adjacent areas of Devon and Cornwall. 

With annual operating costs of more than £13 million, St Luke’s employs around 300 clinical and non-clinical staff members, with crucial support provided by around 600 volunteers.

Supporting expert heads of department across Retail, Fundraising and Facilities, you will be at the heart of all our income-generation activities, with strategic and executive responsibility for:
