Based in Lewisham in South-East London, Sydenham Garden is a unique wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. About the role 

Our Director has been in post since November 2021 and on returning from maternity leave in January 2026 she will be working 3 days a week.  We are seeking a Co-Director to jointly lead the organisation going forwards as we have made a positive decision to move towards a co-director model.  This is an exciting opportunity which can have benefits of increasing capacity, efficiency, and transparency and allow for a broader range of identities both to better reflect the diverse populations they serve and as a way to include more diverse leaders. The Administrative Assistant (Advice and Information) role provides important administrative support to our small, friendly Advice and Information Team. The role will focus on providing administrative support to the following two parts of the wider team:  

- The Outbound Permanence service. This provides specialist advice by email, supported by legal research, country-specific written guidance, and individual consultations where necessary, to local authority social workers and lawyers considering the placement of children in care proceedings with relatives and friends overseas on all legal orders. The service also delivers regular training and events.

- CoramBAAF members’ Advice Line. This covers all aspect of adoption, fostering, kinship and related areas in the UK. It is busy and popular with professionals, primarily social workers, who use the service. It offers telephone and email advice, prioritising speed, and quality of service.

Working hours can be discussed, but to include Thurs/Fri (Friday morning specifically)

The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in supporting our WOW (Women Off to Work) team with its successful delivery of this employability support programme. The role holder will provide high quality administrative and customer service support to the WOW programme, helping to ensure smooth delivery of sessions and a strong support service for local women.

About the Project

We are delighted to have been awarded funding by the National Lottery to deliver a third phase of our incredibly popular Women Off to Work (WOW) programme. Since 2017, WOW has supported hundreds of local women from predominantly Global Majority communities through holistic training and pathways into work programme.

WoW delivers a blend of life and vocational skills training, promoting general employability and improved wellbeing through work experience placements, internships, job brokerage, practical advice on self-employment and micro-businesses, ESOL classes and more. The programme provides women with opportunities to gain formal and accredited training qualifications and provide support with tailored into-work action plans.

The Individual Giving Officer will work with the Individual and Legacy Manager to provide an exceptional level of stewardship to donors.

The role will work to increase income from a diverse range of products including our online shop, funeral collections, stewardship journeys and individual gifts. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, empathy for those affected by bowel cancer, and a desire to show the impact of donations are all essential. You’ll also be a team player and capable of organising and managing a busy workload.

As a key member of SCT’s Housing First team, you’ll provide tailored, person-centred support to people who have experienced homelessness and other traumatic events. Working with a small caseload (around six residents), you will build trusting, relationships that empower people to maintain their tenancies, improve their wellbeing, and take meaningful steps towards recovery. Through practical advice, emotional support, and strong advocacy, you’ll help break cycles of exclusion and create lasting change, on each person’s terms.
