The Role 
Working within our International Partnerships, Programmes and Research (IPPR) team, you will develop, accompany, and coordinate locally-led peacebuilding projects, partnerships and networks, primarily in conflict-affected countries in the Great Lakes and Central Africa regions of Africa. You will also support the coordination of partnerships and engagement with local peacebuilding efforts in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) within our multi-year programme ‘Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System’, funded by the Dutch MfA.

As Senior Partnerships and Programmes Officer you will work closely with our SPOs who manage existing partnerships and create opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. You will also support the development, coordination and delivery of Local First, working closely with the International Programmes Manager and Peace Direct’s Netherlands Country Representative.

We are looking for someone with experience supporting peacebuilding, development or humanitarian projects, with a good understanding of peacebuilding approaches, and who can build effective, trust-based relationships with local partners. You must be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively, have excellent organisational skills and be able to work in both English and French.

UNISON is seeking a Human Resources Officer to work within the Human Resources and Staff Development team. This will be part of a job share, so we are looking for a job share partner.

About this job

The role of the Human Resource Officer is integral in progressing UNISON’s people management and wide HR strategic agenda. It will provide professional human resource and employee relations advice and support to UNISON’s managers on key areas such as case management, staff movement and recruitment, absence management and Occupational Health referrals, and general people matters.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organisational administration

• Lead on day-to-day operational processes to ensure the efficient running of the organisation.
• Provide executive support to the CEO and COO, including diary coordination, scheduling, and meeting logistics.

The role is responsible for delivering full housing management services across a portfolio of 50–100 supported accommodation units, with a focus on tenancy sustainment, legal compliance, and strong financial performance. This includes facilitating onboarding and exit processes for service users, promoting tenancy expectations early on, and embedding a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIPE) approach. Accurate and GDPR-compliant tenancy records must be maintained, with regular monitoring and reporting on tenancy issues through internal dashboards and quarterly reviews.

The position also involves driving rent and service charge collection, preventing arrears through proactive engagement, and taking recovery action where needed. The postholder will provide specialist advice on housing benefits, manage claims and appeals, and oversee invoicing and reconciliation with external agencies. The CSE Team Leader will play a crucial role in supporting the Operations Manager and wider Basis management team to oversee the delivery of 1:1 and group-based support to young people in our service offering high quality, effective safety advice, information and support, enabling young people to navigate exploitative and abusive relationships. The Young People’s team work across Leeds and Bradford providing specialist support to young people experiencing CSE.  The team work to Basis’ organisational values, taking a harm reduction approach to enable and empower young people to make positive choices, whilst working to reduce risk.  The team have an established reputation for providing high quality, effective safety advice, information and support, enabling young people to navigate exploitative and abusive relationships.  Services are provided within the community, at venues as young people determine.

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school. 

Key Objectives for this Role

Working with the Lead Youth Worker you will: 

Homework Clubs

•Collect up to date consent information for all young people joining Future Foundations

•Support with creating session plans for club nights

•Research and source necessary resources activities 

•Support to plan and run engaging and fun activities/ongoing projects for the young people

•Use participatory methods to involve young people about Clubs 

•Ensure children’s participation and encourage ownership of and responsibility for the Clubs

•Implement our behaviour management policy

•Liaise with families/carers to communicate information regarding Clubs and Mentoring

•Support with maintaining robust recording and monitoring systems (including registers) and ensure quotes, case studies and feedback are saved and stored

•Maintain, collect, edit and store documentation of activities, including photos, case studies and videos, for Newsletters, funding reports and other records

•Maintain excellent safeguarding practices

•Support whole team with making referrals to external partners and support agencies

•Support the Lead Youth Worker with running a weekly Youth Club for post-16 young people

•Support mentor coordinator with running early years mentoring sessions, when needed

•Work evenings and varied working hours

Trips and activities 

•Work with the Lead Youth Worker and Community Learning Coordinator to develop an annual programme of activity and trips during school holidays

•Ensure that this is done in collaboration with our children, young people, their families and other KLS projects

•Assist with the summer programme development, organisation and delivery

Teamwork and reporting

•Work with Future Foundations team members to coordinate work, refer young people and/or parents/carers to our casework and advice team.

•Contribute to reports for trustees and funders and attend periodic meetings with funders

•Communicate well with other teams within KLS to provide a high-quality service to our members

Other Duties 

•Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisals; help to identify your own job related development and training needs.

Working with the Senior Caseworkers and Team Manager your role and responsibilities include: 

•Support staff to liaise with young people and their families/carers to communicate information regarding our work

•Provide information, support, advocacy and guidance to children and young people from refugee backgrounds (and their families/carers when available), to ensure that they are able to access their educational rights.

•Increase communication and understanding between young people, families, social services, schools and other professionals

•Develop relationships with schools and relevant agencies, in order to make and obtain referrals, and support refugee young people and their families access educational services.

•Empower young people and their parents to take control and be their own best advocates

• 

Main duties and responsibilities:

·Run 2 monthly evening drop in advice sessions at KLS youth club 

·Run 2 monthly drop in advice sessions at Southfields Acadmey

·Support refugee young people including unaccompanied asylum seeking young people (and their families/carers when available) to overcome barriers to access and thrive 

·Identify and assess their needs and advocate with them for their rights and entitlements

·Provide information and advice whilst working other agencies (e.g. social services, and mental health)

·Refer them to other agencies as appropriate.

·Make and follow up on internal and/or external referrals and signposting whenever relevant and according to adequate referral pathways, in response to the young people’s needs

·Liaise between young people (and with their parents/carers when available) with school, social services, other agencies and foster carers, to support young people holistically to overcome educational barriers

·Work with Future Foundations to Learn team members to share casework information and advocacy needs and to develop the work of the whole team in supporting local refugee young people and families

·Advocate on behalf of and/or represent young people by preparing reports and attending appeals or interviews or meetings with them

·Be familiar with local schools and services. Work with professionals in complementary statutory and voluntary services in person, by phone or by email.

·Maintain accurate and detailed casework records, action plans and monitoring data and be self-administrating. Ensure information on our database is accurate/up-to-date

·Compile data and case studies as requested by your line manager and in compliance with relevant funder requirements, ensuring reporting deadlines are met

·Respond to enquiries by telephone, e mail, referring on internally or externally organisations when necessary

Your work will support the smooth running of financial processes that enable us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with East Asia’s peoples.

You will bring experience in payroll systems (preferably Sage), a high level of accuracy, and a heart for global mission. Working closely with the Finance team, this role includes processing donations, reconciling credit cards, and supporting our Creation Care reporting.

The role of Admin, Operations and HR coordinator is a varied and exciting role which is essential to helping to maintain the smooth running of the church office. 

As a key team member, the Admin, Ops and HR coordinator is responsible for:

• Being the first point of contact for the church to communicate with external enquiries
• Maintaining our HR systems for a small staff team
• Working with the staff team to enable the efficient running of the church building, overseeing business accounts and coordinating with contractors, liaising with clients and arranging external events bookings
• Working with the staff team to maintain communication with church members utilising social media and email campaigns
