The PDA Society is looking to recruit its first ever Head of role and we believe the right person could be transformative for our organisation. The ME Association is dedicated to supporting people affected by ME/ CFS (Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). We fund biomedical research, campaign for change and provide a wide range of support services to help those with ME/CFS.

As Fundraising Officer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding to help people with ME/ CFS.  You can make a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives.

We are looking for someone who

• has experience of fundraising ideally in community or challenge event fundraising
• has excellent written and verbal skills – with experience of building strong relationships

You will be responsible for:

• Providing a high standard of stewardship for supporters, nurturing existing supporters, thanking donors, and supporting charity events, such as our supporter reception.
• Developing our charity fundraising appeals
• Developing and promoting the challenge events portfolio.
• Keeping the fundraising pages updated, helping to design and produce fundraising materials (flyers and fundraising packs). 
• You will be working closely with the Fundraising and Development Manager and will be required to support the wider Communications team where needed with additional fundraising activities.

This position is home-based with occasional travel for fundraising events.

Initially a 12 month contract, but with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

A driving license isn’t essential.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events.

The successful candidate will be IT literate, an excellent communicator, highly organised with a strong attention to detail.

A background in fundraising is required, although this could be from intern or voluntary work.  An understanding of ME/CFS is desirable.

Stewardship

• Monitoring the fundraising inbox, acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of supporters and enquirers.
• Developing individual giving income through enhanced communications, great stewardship and supporting on fundraising appeals.
• Nurturing our regular givers and looking for ways to grow our regular-giving donor base.
• Completing thanking processes efficiently for donations.
• Developing and managing tools and resources to support fundraising events such as sending out t-shirts, posters, flyers, donation boxes and fundraising packs when requested.
• Liaising with the communications team to create promotional materials to advertise events through the website and social media channels to increase engagement.

Administration

• Keeping accurate records of all prospect and supporter interactions on our CRM system, Raisers Edge NXT.
• Optimising fundraising and donation opportunities at key charity events, researching and recording information.
• Supporting the Fundraising and Development Manager as and when needed.
• Working with colleagues across, communications and services teams to ensure a smooth flow of information to support fundraising promotion and engagement.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a Finance and Operations Manager to support the CEO in the day-to-day running of our charity. The NUM CEO develops the overall vision of the organisation, while the Operations Manager is responsible to carry out the vision. 

To be successful in this role, you should have experience as a manager in a position of public trust, have excellent financial, organisational, and communications skills, as well as being a problem-solver with work experience in high-pressure work environments. The Finance and Operations Manager must be versatile in their understanding of the larger vision and as well as the fine details and tactics needed to achieve NUM's goals.

The successful candidate will work in an agile manner to ensure the charity continues to be proactive and innovative, while also being responsive to the changing landscape within the sector and the international sex worker rights and safety movement. As part of supporting the operations of NUM, the successful candidate will provide resources, information and support to NUM Managers and Coordinators across diverse projects, workstreams and teams, to achieve aspects of the organisation’s mandate of 'ending all forms of violence against sex workers' and eliminating the conditions that lead to poverty and survival sex work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

• At least 3 years' work experience as a Manager, Project or Programme Manager or similar role that requires oversight of a whole system, business, operation or organisation Experience leading remote or hybrid teams is desired. This includes time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, lead team meetings and support members to manage resources, timelines and project budgets, etc. 

• At least two years’ experience in grant writing and fund development, as well as in financial management, with a demonstrated ability to co-develop budgets, cashflow forecasts and financial reporting as well as oversee banking activities and work with accountants and Trustees to ensure NUM’s financial health.

• Knowledge of the charity sector, the day-to-day running of a charity, business or similar organisation, and familiarity with the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.

• Excellent leadership and delegation skills and experience. 

• Ability to support and execute on elements of NUM's policies and strategic plan. 

• Experience and training in Safeguarding and the ability to integrate appropriate safeguarding into all aspects of NUM services.

• Exemplary critical thinking and problem-solving skills and experience.

About the Project

Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver support in the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) at Lister Hospital.

The MHUCC provides a dedicated space and service for rapid mental health assessment, intervention, and referral, thereby enhancing the quality of care and optimising use of systemwide resources. It provides 24-hour access to specialist mental health assessment aimed at supporting service users to access the least restrictive care and treatment options. It creates a systemwide response to acute mental health crisis that enables people’s needs to be met with the right care at the right time.

About the Role:

The Support, Time and Recovery (STAR) Worker will be based at the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre at Lister Hospital, promoting joint working and creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.

The STAR workers will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in the MHUCC, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.

You will have a key role with safe and supportive observations and attending to the service users on the unit. You will provide support for carers and liaise with the wider services to support smooth and timely discharge of service users back to the community.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide a consistent presence in the MHUCC for individuals with mental health needs to access for support.
• To advocate for service users, explaining organisations and pathways.
• To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
• To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely MHUCC discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
• To gather feedback and evaluation on patient experience in the MHUCC
• To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
• To link in with wider Herts Mind Network services and facilitate referrals
• To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
• To support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. Coordinating and supporting our Branch network, you will collaborate on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. You will be the first port of call for advice and expertise relating to school libraries and enabling our members to more effectively support their school communities. As resident children’s book expert, you will help with initiatives such as the SLA Information Book Award and member book related events. Supporting the delivery of online and in-person networking events and workshops for members, you will work with your SLA colleagues, in particular the Training and Events Officer, to deliver a high-quality member offer and to ensure member needs are reflected in all offerings. Branch network and member support

• Support the SLA Branch Network and member outreach
• Identify opportunities for developing initiatives to grow and develop the Branch network community, that will deliver on the SLA mission

An ability to foster collaboration and community engagement will be an important part of this role. All team members contribute to office admin, maintaining member data and general office support.

To be successful in this role you should ideally be able to demonstrate:

• experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape
• strong knowledge of children and young people’s literature across the age ranges

As Advocacy and Regulatory Engagement Lead, your role will be to drive impactful policy and regulatory engagement under the Fair Digital Finance Accelerator. You will shape and implement advocacy strategies targeted at financial services regulators to strengthen consumer protection and resilience in digital finance, particularly in instant interoperable payment systems.

Representing the organisation in high-level forums, you will also champion innovation in consumer advocacy and ensure tangible impact in markets around the world. Your experience will combine political acumen, relationship-building skills and a network mindset, and you will be able to talk to stakeholders in the Financial Inclusion space with confidence.

Your experience;

• Proven experience in advocacy, government relations or public policy (ideally in financial regulation, consumer protection or digital policy).
• Demonstrated ability to influence regulatory or policy change in partnership with civil society or multistakeholder coalitions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory processes in low- and middle-income contexts and familiarity with digital finance ecosystems.
• Excellent relationship-building and networking skills, with experience facilitating collaboration across diverse stakeholders. Bringing in and utilising your connections with stakeholders in this space is highly desirable.

Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Program Manager will work across the whole organisation, towards the successful development of the values and the proven model in a second site; and its partnership with the Essex site will be an important part of the role.

Camp Jojo is growing from a young, largely trustee led, organisation to a staff team led organisation. Again this role will be a fundamental part of that transition. This is a predominantly an operational post, and not responsible for the finances of organisation, though it will deliver operations within the board approved budget. They will also sit on, or chair, several of the Committees of the charity; including the Senior Operations Team.

The role will offer leadership to key functions of Camp Jojo, Camp Jojo staff and contractors, and to members of the Camp Jojo Board, in relation to the work of the charity. Whilst the majority of the work will be remote the incumbent will be required to attend some meetings and events in person, including at both sites. They will also be required to attend at least part of the actual camp events. They may need to work flexibly, according to the seasonal demands of the charity.

Join the award-winning Moving Medicine team, led by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK. We're seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead two impactful patient-centred physical activity projects.

About the role:

Moving Medicine is an award-winning initiative of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM) aimed at improving health through physical activity. It provides healthcare professionals with practical tools and evidence-based resources to promote physical activity in clinical practice. Moving Medicine is our free, award-winning initiative, designed to provide clinicians and allied health professionals with accessible, evidence based, condition specific information to help give advice on physical activity at all stages of a patient’s treatment pathway.

We are expanding our impact through the development of additional Moving Medicine resources for patients. This role will include project managing two large, interlinked projects, with time split across both:

One project is in conjunction with Nuffield Health, the project funders, will initially focus on publishing the newly built Moving Medicine Everyone website (due for publication in November 2025) and accompanying educational resources. The Project Manager will work closely with Moving Medicine clinicians, healthcare partners, stakeholders, and academic collaborators. A key aspect of this role will be to coordinate stakeholder engagement, facilitate collaborative input from academic and clinical experts, and support the demonstration of social impact through evaluation and dissemination activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in aligning the project with strategic goals, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining strong relationships.

The other project, Moving Together, is a national collaborative initiative led by the FSEM in partnership with Active Partnerships National Office and funded by Sport England (National Lottery). The project is building a broad cross-sector network and aims to empower people with long-term health conditions to access physical activity by removing barriers, developing evidence-based frameworks, training resources, and governance structures that enable consistent, safe, and effective physical activity conversations across sectors and systems. Working closely with clinicians, patients, policymakers, and professional bodies, Moving Together connects national standards with local implementation, supporting workforce development, data-driven evaluation, and sustainable behaviour change to improve population health and reduce inequalities.

The Project Manager will split their time across both projects, which are closely connected in their goals and approach, and will play a key role in ensuring alignment and synergy between them. This includes supporting shared stakeholders, integrating learning and resources, and contributing to a unified strategy for improving physical activity access and outcomes for patients.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our dynamic team, bringing strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset to drive forward these high impact, patient-centred initiatives.

About the opportunity:

Working closely with the Fundraising Manager and Head of Philanthropy you will support a range of fundraising activities, most predominantly through organising and coordinating fundraising events, such as half-marathons; lead annual fundraising campaigns; in addition to increasing individual giving to the charity through awareness raising and stewardship of regular and one-off donors. • Oversee the coordination and administration of annual sponsored fundraising events Action Tutoring engages with, such as the Hackney Half marathon and London 10K, including the promotion of events, onboarding of runners, campaign page creation, encouraging participants to raise funds, organising materials to be sent to runners (e.g. t-shirts) and tracking of fundraising targets.
• Increase our participation in sponsored fundraising events, in London and our regional hubs. 
• Ensure that relevant marketing materials (such as pictures and participants consent to share) are gathered and used to promote events. On occasion be open to travelling to specific events.

• Support the organisation and coordination of fundraising and key profile raising events, such as evening events, Action Tutoring anniversary celebrations or funder breakfasts, through sourcing suitable venues and overseeing logistics.
