Leeds Cancer Centre diagnoses and treats cancer for the people of Leeds and the Yorkshire region. The centre is one of the largest in the UK and provides some of the most up-to-date treatment, care, and support for people with cancer. The Cancer Centre Fundraiser is a pivotal role for patients, families and hospital staff who are interested in supporting the charity and the Cancer Centre.

The Role

· Responsible for engaging with and developing positive relationships with hospital colleagues, patients and families.

· Develop innovative fundraising campaigns specifically aimed at raising awareness and funds for the Cancer Centre.

· Working with and supporting both new and existing supporters.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to implement hospital engagement and communication plans.

· Attend a range of fundraising events/activities,  some of which will be outside normal working hours.

· Ensure all activity within the team complies with the charity’s values, the Fundraising Code of Practice and          other relevant regulation and guidance.

· Maintain accurate records of supporter interaction on our CRM system to aid delivery of an exceptional supporter experience and to harness the value of data.

The successful candidate will:

About Global Health Partnerships

One billion people will never see a qualified health worker in their lives. For over thirty years, GHP has been working to change this, training health workers to build a world where everyone has access to affordable and quality healthcare. Staff from UK health institutions volunteer their time developing and carrying out health systems strengthening activities at their LMIC partner institution, be that training, curriculum development, leadership and governance, etc. 

UFUQ project overview:

The project is strategically designed to uplift the health conditions of the Syrian population. It addresses critical elements of health workforce management and medical education in Syria, aiming for a transformative impact on health outcomes in the region. 

Specialized Medical Education Enhancement: 

UFUQ aims to enable targeted specialties in Syria to play a pivotal role in advancing medical education and practice. This encompasses a comprehensive review, update, and rollout of curricula, teaching, and assessment materials in emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and anaesthesiology. The project focuses on strengthening capacities in medical education, clinical/CPD areas, English language proficiency, research skills, and fostering scientific collaboration and partnership among and between faculties, residents, and international peers.

Rooted in the UFUQ philosophy, this intervention believes that by strengthening the systems and capacities for specialized medical education, the quality and accessibility of specialist health services will be markedly improved. The UFUQ project envisions a transformative approach contributing to the broader goal of achieving universal health coverage and delivering better-quality care in Syria. 

Objective of the Position 

The Technical Manager Medical Education will provide technical expertise to ensure the project and partners are all working to a shared vision for Post Graduate Medical education and that all are delivering within appropriate technical requirements and standards.  The position will coordinate with stakeholders, supervise technical staff, and ensure the program aligns with the project log frame and best practices in health workforce development and medical education. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensure technical alignment of the UFUQ project with HRH strategies and medical education reforms in Syria. 

• Provide overarching technical leadership and guidance to ensure that all project’s Medical Education strengthening activities are aligned with international best practices in postgraduate medical education and health workforce development.

• Ensure technical coherence and alignment of project interventions with the log frame, theory of change, and objectives approved by the donor and Syrian partners. 

• Oversee the quality assurance of technical deliverables, including research, training curricula, and policy frameworks developed under the UFUQ project, and ensure their relevance, scientific validity, and GESI sensitivity. 

• Promote capacity-building efforts, and quality assure ToT programs for HRH actors at national and sub-national levels. 

• Lead the technical coordination and engagement with key stakeholders, including MoH, Syrian Board, academic institutions, professional associations, and international partners (e.g., RCOG, RCEM)., to strengthen technical collaborations within the UFUQ project and to ensure integration and complementarity across all project activities.

• Support the localisation of the Postgraduate Medical Education Diploma and other training efforts, guiding National partners (Center of Strategic Studies and Health training” and Syrian Board) teams in the adoption of the tools, standards, and accreditation systems. 

• Contribute to sustainability planning by supporting the development of Terms of Reference and standard operating procedures for the Specialties Technical Committees. 

• Represent the program in technical meetings with donors, MoH, and other HRH actors.

• Ensure that GESI is integrated across all tracks by supervising the GESI specialist, reviewing curricula and training plans, and leading the technical team in implementing inclusive strategies. 

• Promote mechanisms for feedback from women healthcare workers and residents, and ensure their needs are addressed in planning and implementation. 

• Support In-Country efforts for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) to align with UFUQ project indicators and outcomes.

• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, or inconsistencies in project delivery and propose corrective actions in coordination with the Program Lead and donor if required. 

• Provide rapid-response technical input when issues arise in curriculum roll-out, clinical mentoring, or institutional engagement. 

• Lead the design and planning of new or amended technical activities.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in Medical Education preferably with experience in developing postgraduate medical education programmes. 

• Experience working in a senior position in NGO context (Syrian context is preferred). 

• Previous experience in stakeholder coordination, policy analysis, and capacity building. 

• Strong understanding of GESI-sensitive approaches in health workforce planning and governance. 

• Excellent representational, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic. 

• Organisational and administrative skills with sound IT skills (Word and Excel). 

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. 

• Flexibility and adaptability to work independently in a small organisation and in a complex environment.

The Role

The Head of Operations role holder will lead the Facilities, Logistics and Welcome Desk teams in the effective delivery of the day-to-day operational functions. They will also be integral in developing and implementing building and facilities improvement strategies and lead on the SU's compliance measures, including Health and Safety and Governance. This position is essential for the SU in ensuring robust alignment with external legislation and requirements, and ensuring relevant business continuity and risk management across the organisation.

Reporting into the Directors of Social Enterprise and People, Equity and Organisational Development, the role holder will work closely with senior leadership colleagues, and also manage a number of direct reports from their areas. 

We are looking for someone with experience of managing, influencing and motivating different groups of staff, stakeholders and managers to deliver on operational and strategic plans within a complex organisation. Knowledge of managing and reporting on different and multiple legislative frameworks specifically around Health and Safety, Business Continuity and Major Incident planning is required for this role, as is understanding of managing capital projects through working with facilities teams and external contractors.

A pivotal senior position within the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising team, this role works closely with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to lead key fundraising initiatives and stewardship efforts. As Assistant Donation Hub Manager, your primary purpose is to support the efficient and effective operation of our Donations Hub, ensuring that all incoming stock is sorted, processed, and distributed in line with the needs of our retail and ecommerce operations.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager to manage a complex and varied stock flow coming from multiple sources - including in-store donations, house clearances, home collections, corporate and community events, and direct drop-offs from the public. A key part of your role will be to ensure these donations are processed efficiently, assessed for maximum value, and appropriately segmented to drive income across our 14 shops and online platforms.

This is a highly practical and physical role that requires strong organisational skills and a deep understanding of operational logistics. You’ll be responsible for ensuring timely fulfilment of shop orders, maintaining high standards of stock quality by both sorting incoming donations from shops, allocating corporate donations and supporting the movement and dispatch of goods in a way that maximises efficiency and minimises waste.

You’ll lead day-to-day activities in the hub, supervising volunteers and working collaboratively with drivers to deliver an excellent internal service to shop teams. You will also act as a key support for community-facing donation activity - helping to deliver excellent service during home collections, managing local donor interactions at the warehouse, and assisting with the logistics of house clearances.

Flexibility will be vital, as the role will operate across a seven-day rota and may require you to deputise for the Operations Manager or drivers when needed. About CAT

The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is an internationally renowned environmental charity, a world-leading eco centre, and one of the foremost providers of postgraduate environmental education in the UK, based near Machynlleth in Mid Wales.

CAT provides inspiration, education and training in solutions to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Key activities include a visitor centre where groups can see solutions in action, residential short courses, vocational training and postgraduate degrees in a wide range of sustainability-related topics, with online courses and events offered alongside in-person learning.

CAT has ambitious and transformative plans to scale up what we do in response to the climate and biodiversity emergency.  It is an exciting time to join the organisation in a senior leadership role.  We have a £25 million redevelopment plan for our Llwyngwern Quarry home, known as Cynefin.  We have secured £13.5 million from the UK and Welsh Government through the Mid Wales Growth Deal and private match funding for the first phase.  The Director of Development will lead the capital fundraising campaign as well as playing a key role in the charity’s Senior Management Team and leading and managing the fundraising, marketing and communications, and Innovation Lab teams.

Overview of Role

1. The Director of Development is responsible for developing and leading strategies to grow the organisations financial resources, supporter base and brand recognition. The Director of Development will lead and manage the fundraising team and have overall responsibility for ensuring the effective leadership and management of the Marketing and Comms and Innovation Lab teams in conjunction with the Co-Heads of Marketing and Comms and Innovation Lab Manager.

2. The Director of Development is responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising strategy, tactics and plans, to deliver the multi-million pound revenue funding needed for CAT to meet its strategic ambitions as well as to build up its reserves.

Main Responsibilities

FUNDRAISING AND INCOME GENERATION

· Develop and clearly articulate the case for support for CAT that positions it for fundraising success. Determine the most effective way of positioning its case as compelling and unique.

 ·         Develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive fundraising programme that meets the needs of the organisation. This includes setting the overall goals and objectives for fundraising, alongside the Co-CEOs and leading the delivery of strategies to achieve these goals.

·Identify, prioritise, cultivate, solicit and steward a major gifts portfolio that includes individuals and organisations, with a particular emphasis on trusts and foundations.

· Working closely with the Co-CEO, refine and lead the organisation’s strategy for securing increased support from statutory sources, including Welsh and UK Government.

· The post will be responsible for oversight of fundraising, including ensuring effective fundraising strategies are developed and implemented for increasing giving, recruitment and retention of members and supporters including legacies, as well as for trusts and corporates.

· Work closely with the Co-CEO, Head of Eco Centre and Project Director to update on progress with funding and funders requirements.

· Lead the development of funding bids and tenders, working with the Co-CEO, Head of Eco Centre, Head of School, fundraising team, trustees and other staff across the organisation.

· Build the realisation of core funds and overhead costs into all bids and tenders.

· Work with the Co-CEO and Management Accountant to ensure strong systems are in place for the financial management of projects and the realisation of projected core and overhead contributions.

·Work collaboratively with colleagues to create robust systems for prospect research, stewardship and contact management.

·Provide regular reports on progress and results with prospects in portfolio.

·In collaboration with the Co-CEO and other senior managers, establish and maintain links with the government, business and voluntary sectors with a view to attracting financial support.

·         In collaboration with the Co-CEO oversee CAT’s external networking and advocacy, in collaboration with staff across the organisation.

·         Lead on embedding the measurement of impact of the charity’s activities across the organisation.

COMMUNICATIONS

 · Working with the CoCEO and Co-Heads of Marketing and Comms, provide leadership to the organisation’s communications and marketing work.

· Working with the Marketing and Comms team, create and oversee the delivery of a marketing and communications strategy that will enhance and build upon CAT’s excellent reputation and enable the effective marketing of CAT’s services and communication of key messages.

·Advise and support the Marketing and Comms team in relation to brand-building, campaigns, supporter mobilisation, media relations and defensive PR.

Working with the Co-Heads of Marketing and Comms and team, develop and update a record of key information and clear and consistent messages about CAT’s work, goals and achievements. Oversee the implementation of key messages in CAT’s communications.​

STRATEGIC AND MOTIVATIONAL LEADERSHIP

· Provide inspirational, collaborative and effective leadership over the range of CAT's fundraising and development activities, harnessing the commitment and knowledge of the staff.

 THE PERSON:

Candidates for the role must bring substantial experience and broad expertise and contacts in fundraising, including managing and supporting a fundraising team.

You will have a proven track record of generating significant funds through trust, statutory and corporate sources and from individual giving, preferably including prior success in leading a multi-million capital campaign as well as driving increased core income.

You will need strong experience and skills in networking and developing relationships with individuals and organisations.  Experience of leading marketing and communications work would be an advantage.

About the role

As the Project Officer for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP), you will work closely with two existing Project Officers to engage with selected schools. You will support these schools across the area to inspire, encourage and enable more pupils and their families to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot to school.

You will engage and work with selected schools and their wider communities across BCP, developing and delivering fun, engaging and innovative activities and events. These will be inclusive and promote and enable all forms of active travel (walking, cycling, scooting and wheeling) to school. Housing and Service Delivery

• Provide strong and effective support to residents in Acorn House that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a personalised way and within a framework of active engagement and co-production

As the UK’s leading charity dedicated to helping those most severely affected by gambling-related harm, we deliver specialist residential treatment and holistic support that changes lives. We’re now seeking an experienced and passionate Service Manager to lead one of our residential treatment centres and help shape the future of support against gambling-related harm.

About the Role:

As a Service Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across our residential treatment services, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are maintained.

Working alongside our Senior Leadership Team and with the support of your Deputy Treatment Centre Manager, you will ensure that every service user has access to a seamless, person-centred recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional treatment and support.

• Ensure all services align with the Gordon Moody Pathway and reflect our commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence.

• Oversee daily operations, budgets, and occupancy levels, ensuring we meet our service and financial targets.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance our impact and reach.

• Uphold quality standards and regulatory compliance, including CQC and safeguarding frameworks.

• Champion service development, drive innovation, and embed best practices through continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone with a strong background in service management, preferably within residential health or social care. You’ll be a confident leader, highly organised, and passionate about delivering services that empower individuals to rebuild their lives.

Essential:

• Proven leadership experience in a residential or treatment setting.

• Level 3 qualification in Management (or equivalent); Level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care desirable.

• Experience working with individuals affected by addiction or related vulnerabilities.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding, service quality, and risk management.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team.

Desirable:

• Experience managing budgets and key performance indicators.

• Familiarity with CQC frameworks and working within regulated environments.

• Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
