• Strong communication skills and experience of public advocacy
• Confidence in leading strategy, people, and change in a small organisation
• Lived or professional experience of institutional care settings is highly desirable

About the role

You will be the local leader for Shelter’s Community Services, leading a multidisciplinary team in implementing Shelter’s strategy locally, delivering the local response to the housing emergency and empowering the local community in Sheffield to fight for home.

You will take the lead on the delivery of services and contracts to provide consistently high levels of performance, and plan and deliver service development strategies, including seeking business development opportunities that align with our strategic aims, both across Community Services and in partnership with the Lead Solicitor.

As the strategic lead for Sheffield, you will promote and direct systems change activity, so we better understand what is influencing people’s experience of homelessness and bad housing and have effective plans to influence change.

You will act as an ambassador for Shelter in the local area, representing the organisation through media, networks and local stakeholder engagement.

Alongside this, you will plan and implement resourcing plans for your Hub, including staffing, volunteers and engaging people with lived experience and will manage the Hub Leadership team. Ensuring there are multiple and ongoing opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness and bad housing to be part of Hub development, activities and learning is a key element of this role, as well as upholding and promoting a learning culture with the Hub.

About you

A natural leader, who can inspire, others to advocate for change, you will have a proven working knowledge of homelessness, housing and related issues affecting local communities. You will possess sound experience of managing and delivering contracts, partnerships and services along with experience of being involved in implementing and reviewing change management, whilst demonstrating excellent budgeting and financial reporting skills.

The ability to proactively develop and maintain key relationships and having impressive analytical skills to use insight and evidence to present data, manage performance and to identify and implement systems change are vital to this role, as are impressive interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

About the role

We are looking for someone who has:

We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager who will be working within our product management and innovations team. This role is advertised on 18 - month fixed term contract, with the opportunity for a permanent role at the end of the contract

In this role you will focus on delivering strategic product management and innovation in support of our journal’s portfolio. As a member of the Product Management team, the role holder, in collaboration with the journal's senior management team, you will support the development and optimisation of journal products and services to meet the needs of researchers, authors, reviewers, editors, librarians and funders globally.

While the core focus will be on supporting the journals product strategy and lifecycle management, experience in developing and launching new digital products, particularly in commercial context, is valuable and will contribute to our broader innovation initiatives.

We are looking for someone who has previously developed a product management strategy with experience in developing new product or scholarly journals digital product strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a product management strategy for journals platforms, initially focusing on the Publishing Business Modernisation (PBM) programme, ensuring alignment with the Publishing Strategy and organisational goals.
• Own and coordinate the prioritise the author workstream backlog and roadmap, making strategic decisions that balance business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
• Ensure the long-term development and integration of off-the-shelf and bespoke functionality delivers superior user and business value.
• Collaborate with Journals leadership and subject matter experts, UX designers, and technology teams to create high-quality, engaging experiences.
• Develop product roadmaps and manage any adjacent project interdependencies, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across editorial, publishing, technology, sales, marketing, and customer services.
• Act as a trusted partner to the Head of Journals, Head of OA Journals, and other senior leaders to define, prioritise and implement platform and product strategies.

• Develop business cases and ROI analyses for new product initiatives.

Main requirements:

• Good degree level or equivalent in Business Administration, technology, science or a related field. (degree in chemical sciences or related subject is desirable but not essential)

• Proven track record of successfully launching and managing the lifecycle of digital products and services.
• Proven commercial and financial acumen, with understanding of various digital learning, licencing and packaging models.
• Experience working and managing relationships with third party platform providers.

This role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, however we are currently embracing hybrid working, and therefore you will have the opportunity to also work mostly from a UK location other than this, as agreed with your line manager. Senior Strategic Programmes Manager

About the Role

The focus of this permanent role is to manage the development and growth of the Strategic Programmes, in line with the organisations new strategy and core mission to end youth homelessness. As a charitable trust the core purpose includes distributing grants to create sustainable routes out of homelessness and into sustainable independent living for young people.

The Strategic Programmes’ team are responsible for brokering services for charity partners that broaden the offer above and beyond the core grants in three different areas:

• Pro Bono
• Employability
• Property Donation

The focus for all three programmes is now on their growth and the maximisation of their social impact. This follows a period of development and refresh for Pro Bono, and the successful piloting of the newer Employability and Property Donation programmes. All three programmes have proven to be successful, sustainable and scalable. This role is primarily concerned with maintaining the management of the programmes whilst working alongside the Head of Strategic Programmes to enhance them and expand their reach.

The charity relies heavily on the voluntary support of its corporate partners from the real estate industry and this role will work closely with these partners to maximise their contribution to the mission to end youth homelessness. The role will also require you to work closely with charity partners to ensure that the programmes deliver against their needs for maximum impact

Your principal responsibilities will be project management, relationship management, impact & evaluation and communications.

About You

We are looking for someone with a demonstrable interest in CSR, and how businesses can be supported to achieve social impact.

You will also have:

• Experience of designing or delivering CSR or volunteering programmes in support of vulnerable or disadvantaged groups of people
• Experience of developing and managing relationships with senior stakeholders
• Experience of monitoring, analysing and providing robust evaluation and reporting of projects and programmes of work
• Demonstrable project management and development skills with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively

As Business Development Manager for our Community Services will focus and lead on:

· Analysing and unlocking opportunities for new business

· Implementing business development plans

· Supporting with getting new funding and bringing services to fruition

You will be responsible for identifying and building partnerships with NHS Trusts, Audiology Departments and ICBs to secure funding and expand our RNID Near You services across the UK. You’ll work closely with internal teams to develop business cases, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the successful launch of new RNID Near You contracts.

· Identify and build relationships with potential funders such as NHS Foundation Trusts, Audiology Departments, and ICBs to support service expansion.

· Collaborate with the Bids and Tender Manager to secure funding and develop compelling business cases for new RNID Near You services.

· Implement business development plans in partnership with Heads of Operations, supporting various workstreams and projects.

· Analyse and evaluate new service opportunities, contributing to a pipeline of potential contracts and making strategic recommendations.

· Ensure delivery of growth targets, including the opening of at least four new service contracts per financial year in line with RNID’s multi-year plan.

RNID Near You is our national community-based service run by trained volunteers which offers:

· a hearing check and information on how to book a full hearing test.

About the role

The Senegal team are looking to recruit a Programme Manager Eye Health to oversee the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers programmes in Senegal.  The postholder will ensure alignment with Sightsavers policies and preferred programme approaches (in particular the principles of scalable demonstration approaches) working closely with the Country Director to maintain in- house quality standards on the delivery of programmes.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:

• Lead the development of country level action and implementation plans for eye health as agreed with the Global Technical Lead, Eye Health and Country Director, Senegal.

• Assist in preparing Budgets for projects and monitor expenditure against these, advising the Country Director on financial trends for example.
• Work with the finance team to ensure proper partner accountability for Sightsavers funds.
• Identify new strategic partnerships within the country to help develop Sightsavers eye health programme.
• Participate in all PR activities of the Country Office and represent Sightsavers at different forums in collaboration with the Country Director.

Essential knowledge and skills

• Degree in Medicine, preferably an Ophthalmologist or Postgraduate Degree in Public Health, Sciences or related disciplines.
• A proven track record within Programme/Project management, ideally in an INGO environment at PM level.
• Significant experience of strategic programme development.
• Technical knowledge on eye health in Senegal.
• Experience of managing an eye care programme in Africa, ideally in an international context.
• Strong advocacy, monitoring evaluation and research and logistics and supply chain management
• Current and ongoing right to work in Senegal
• Able to travel as and when required
