Enhanced Support Workers help to enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community, by providing flexible and individually tailored support.
The working pattern of this role are as follows: Combination of 5-day, 4-day, and 6-day work weeks, including weekends.
Shift times:
Early: 8am-4pm
Late: 2:30pm-10:30pm
What you'll do:
* Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support actions and capture outcomes in Support and Risk Management files.
* Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available.
* Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
* Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community especially the local mental health system to ensure that customers receive the best treatment available
* Lead on an area of specialism (e.g. , health and wellbeing) , build partnerships and develop internal and external opportunities for service-users in this area
* Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
* Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards

Project Information
Our client provides refuge and community based (outreach) support to adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. Their services include:
- Refuge (including both communal refuge and dispersed (Individual safe accommodation) which is offered to both women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse.
- Community based outreach support working with women and men living in the local community who are living with the impact of domestic abuse.
- Specialist support for children who are of have experienced domestic abuse (both refuge and community based support are available).
The Role
No two days will be the same, so if you like variety this may be the ideal role for you!
As a Children’s worker, you will provide structured support to children, young people and their families who have experienced domestic abuse. You will be confident liaising with stakeholders eg. schools, social care. You will also be responsible for completing a healthy relationship programme of work, Safety Planning, and Signposting children and families to appropriate support.
You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of safeguarding procedures for adults, children and responsibilities, in relation to information sharing including multi-agency working. In addition, you will be expected to effectively communicate sensitive and complex issues with a range of people and have the ability to manage your own case-load.
Requirements
You will recognise the impact domestic abuse can have on children, young people and their families, also have an understanding of risk assessing. In addition, the ideal candidates will:
- Be friendly, approachable, and flexible.
- Have great communication skills
- Relevant numeracy and literacy qualification and knowledge of basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office packages)
- Hard-working and a team player
- Experience in Domestic Abuse preferred, but not essential.
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you hold a full valid driving license with unrestricted access to a vehicle and business insurance.

The team play a critical role in advocating for their tenants. From liaising with agencies to help them access permanent accommodation to supporting them to access education or employment training.
The Support Worker role
Every day is different and you will face many new challenges so they need colleagues that come with a built in can-do attitude! You must be willing to go above and beyond for young people help better their lives, promoting independence, being a role model and achieving a successful home environment for them to live, in line with local authority care plan.
This isn’t a typical support worker position. Communication and understanding is key to help grow and mentor our young people. This role heavily requires you to listen and communicate with the young people, so a good understanding of written and verbal English is a must.
What you’ll be doing
Even as an adult the housing market can be tough to navigate and with so much information out there you will be a young person’s advocate and guidance. You could be helping young people complete the appropriate referrals forms for housing, coordinating referrals or arranging and attending referral interviews. Alternatively you could mediate between young people and their families to facilitate moves back home. You will be highly motivated and resilient but also patient and kind. Change can be scary but you will have a positive attitude to encourage our young people.
Then comes the big move…
With your knowledge of welfare benefits you’ll help users to access grants/ charitable funding for white goods or other furnishings.
As well as this, you will be on the ball with activities related to the young person’s move e.g. arranging and facilitating pre move in meetings, joining the property inspection, liaising with the landlord where appropriate to negotiate move-in dates. You will also develop a system that matches young people across the contracted provision to facilitate house shares.
To be considered you must have a full valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle. You will be able to claim mileage proving you have business cover on your insurance.
They work 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You must be able to be flexible and work on a rota. Typical shift patterns are 07:00 – 14:30 and 14:30 – 22:00.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. As our Welsh Language Officer you will be an integral member of the Citizens Advice Wales team, part of our Partnerships & Advocacy directorate, and you’ll play a key role in shaping the charity’s Welsh Language strategy.
The role involves influencing national teams, supporting local Citizens Advice in Wales, and you’ll also represent Citizens Advice within Welsh language networks and identify opportunities to support greater access and engagement for clients and colleagues in Wales.

You’ll also work in partnership with the Welsh Language Commissioner’s office delivering the Cynnig Cymraeg for Citizens Advice and driving forward the “Cymraeg Clir” approach.
Working closely with the Director of Wales and Cymru Advisory group you will shape our Welsh Language strategy and active offer whilst managing translation services and budgets, line manage the Welsh Language Translator, and ensure high-quality Welsh content across platforms.
