The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Finance & Operations to take ownership of all internal operations that ensure the organisation’s effectiveness, accountability, compliance, and resilience. Financial Management

Hours and place of work

• This is a full-time role to be fulfilled over a 35-hour week, ideally within the working hours of Mon-Fri, 9:30am–5:30pm, with flexibility as required.
• This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
• Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.

Terms, pay and benefits

• This is a permanent contract.
• Salary for this role will be ca. £55,000 p/a depending on experience.
• The post holder is entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK statutory holidays.
• The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.

Job Profile

The post holder will contribute to ensuring the Supporter Donations Team (SDT) manages and administers supporter donation activity on behalf of CAFOD, providing a high level of supporter care while delivering within agreed service levels and Key Performance Indicators. SDT has the overall responsibility for managing and thanking all supporter donations to CAFOD made through a variety of channels and schemes. SDT works within the Finance and infrastructure group, liaises across all teams in CAFOD, and external service providers to ensure donations are processed within agreed service levels and quality standards. Due to the nature of SDT’s role, SDT has particularly close ties to CAFOD Fundraising activities and actively engages in our fundraising programmes and schemes. 

Accountability 

The post holder reports to the Supporter Donations Manager and will work alongside a team of Supporter Donation Assistants, collectively delivering the team’s key aims and responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Supporter Care: 

• Handle telephone, email and postal enquiries from supporters; identifying and resolving queries in a prompt, warm and sensitive way. 

• Provide phone cover to the Supporter Care team as required. 

• Provide Reception training to the Supporter Care team as required. 

Donations: 

• Accurately code donations received, ensuring agreed departmental procedures are followed. 

• Process, set up and administer instructions and payments through a variety of donations channels and schemes such as Online, Direct Debit, standing orders, BACs, Payroll giving schemes and online giving platforms. 

• Input and maintain data on CAFOD’s supporter database, ensuring high degrees of accuracy on our donor records.

• File and archive financial data, while adhering to strict audit controls. 

Gift Aid: 

• Understand Gift Aid and its application within CAFOD. 

• Assist with all aspects of tax-effective giving, in accordance with agreed procedures and priorities, including preparation of regular tax claims for submission to HMRC. 

Thanking: 

• Produce and dispatch letters to thank and acknowledge donations received.

Technology Project Coordinator

We are seeking to recruit an individual who displays a flexible approach, excellent communication skills and is an effective team player.

Position: SIT56 Technology Project Coordinator

Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: £30,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,275 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

The Role

This role works as part of the Technology team to manage and successfully deliver various running technology projects that underpin the organisation’s strategic goals.

Key accountabilities and main responsibilities include:

• Executing a variety of project management administrative tasks as directed by the project manager.
• Monitoring project progress and creating project status reports for project managers and stakeholders.
• Assisting with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete their tasks.
• Scheduling stakeholder meetings and facilitating communication between the project manager and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
• Managing project management documents such as the project plan, budget, schedule or scope statement, risk and issues as directed by the project manager.
• Executing a variety of project management administrative tasks
• Communicate with key stakeholders, understand and support documenting their requirements
• Creation of work packages/user stories/tasks with subject matter experts from the business and technology team as part of defining project delivery resources and schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead end-to-end recruitment for our charity shops and support functions across London
• Post job adverts and screen CVs via platforms like Indeed and social media whilst budgeting and managing costs associated with recruitment
• Arrange and at times attend interviews with hiring managers
• Build strong partnerships with hiring managers and support them throughout the hiring process
• Support with the development of recruitment and volunteering policies
• Develop and maintain recruitment processes to help ensure compliance and observe best practice at all times

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Proven experience as a recruitment professional  (3+ years) and qualifications in the subject matter, preferably CIPD certified
• Experience working in charity retail, non-profit organisations and recruiting volunteers
• Strong knowledge of recruitment platforms and applicant tracking systems
• Experience producing reports for senior leadership
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with great time management
• Passion for diversity, inclusion and collaborative working
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setup and travelling to shop locations
