The Role

Reporting into our Customer and Neighbourhood Director, you'll be responsible for the development of strategies, policies and procedures relating to all tenancy sustainment activities. Being a specialist in this field, you'll also scan the horizon to identify potential significant changes in external policy and financial landscape, introducing best practice from other organisations and sectors.

You'll be the main point of contact internally for all matters relating to tenancy sustainment, working collaboratively across the business to ensure that consistent best practices are embedded within Locality teams and the wider business. Externally, you'll represent SNG and our commitment and vision in tenancy sustainment – influencing and working alongside key external stakeholders and delivery partners, building relationships aligned to our corporate and customer strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with internal and external stakeholders to provide and source expert advice, and manage the development of services, to ensure SNG meets its commitments, monitors its performance and evidences its delivery relating to regulatory obligations, changing regulations, guidance and best practice
• Developing and leading a stakeholder management plan across local, regional and national government bodies responsible for the delivery to specialist areas
• Piloting partnerships with other services to enhance the provision of support to SNG's customers and developing funding solutions to provide support to core budgets
• Managing large complex annual budgets, ensuring appropriate monitoring of expenditure and compliance with procedures and levels of approval
• Ensuring that the appropriate training and development programs for Locality teams are in place across a range of areas, including domestic abuse, safeguarding and ASB
• Leading on all strategic and operational elements of service development across localities; proactively involving customers through engagement and scrutiny, to help shape and facilitate the co-creation of the service as required  
• Articulating a clear vision, providing direction, and promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement

What we need from you

Ideally you should have previous experience in a similar senior role, with strong experience and knowledge of the latest requirements for housing providers across tenancy sustainment.  You'll also need:

• Excellent demonstrable knowledge of programme development and performance improvement in a customer focussed environment
• Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks
• Evidence of delivering on innovative concepts, utilising future changes in policy to support flexibility in a responsive organisation
• Experience of promoting an organisation at a regional and national level to raise the profile of the business
• Ability to inspire, support and develop others to optimise their performance
• Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively with others in a complex and dynamic environment
• To have strong people skills and be an effective communicator, able to influence and challenge
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite with intermediate or advanced excel skills

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Fundraising to develop and drive Iswe’s income generation strategy and grow a high-performing fundraising team.

This role is ideal for someone experienced and confident enough to lead the function with minimal oversight, but still eager to be hands-on. You will bring a good understanding of the climate, democracy, and systems change funding landscape, ideally along with existing funder relationships. You’ll be creative and entrepreneurial, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support, develop new income streams, and build the operational systems required to raise and manage funds effectively.

Your goal will be to secure £10 million over the next 3–5 years, and position Iswe for long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy aligned with Iswe’s organisational goals, including project-specific income generation and unrestricted funding. 

• Identify and pursue diverse fundraising opportunities, with a focus on:

  • Institutional partnerships

Person Specification

Essential

• Substantial fundraising experience (minimum 5+ years), with a proven track record of raising six to seven-figure income across grantmaking, institutional funders, or major donors.

• Strong strategic thinking, planning, and execution skills — with the ability to own a multi-year fundraising roadmap and deliver results with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering fundraising strategies across multiple income streams (e.g. grants, high net worth individuals, public fundraising, or partnerships).

• Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling funding proposals and reports.

• Working knowledge of individual giving strategies, including use of digital tools for donor acquisition and retention.

• Working knowledge of GDPR.

• Understanding of how to build systems and culture to support high net worth individual engagement and income generation.

• Experience speaking and writing knowledgeably about deliberative democracy and multilateralism.

• Strong understanding of the global fundraising landscape in climate, democracy, and systems change — and ideally some well-established funder relationships.

They will hold a caseload of service users, acting as the key contact and contributing to care planning, progress monitoring, and discharge support using the clinical records system. A key focus will be the collaborative development of person-centred recovery plans that emphasise social goals and community integration. Using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches, they will build strong therapeutic relationships to support individuals in achieving their personal recovery goals. The role involves helping service users access local resources, attend appointments, and engage in wellbeing activities, peer support, or psychoeducational groups. They will promote recovery-focused, jargon-free communication, advocate for co-production and integrated care, and liaise with statutory and voluntary sector organisations to ensure smooth service navigation and warm handovers. Attendance at relevant clinical meetings and community events is expected, representing both Hestia and the Community Mental Health Team. This position will add capacity to Bond’s media function to help build Bond’s media presence, support the delivery of Bond’s strategy and support the sector in championing humanitarian assistance and development that works to help those who need it the most. Sector media work (30%)

• Represent our work externally with members, actively networking and working with other sector media staff to build and strengthen priority relationships
• Build media group to ensure it is up to date and includes organisations of all sizes and remits and accurately reflects our membership
• Update media group with Bond’s reactive media lines and share information about key government and parliamentary announcements
•  Share media coverage with Bond’s media group and Policy and Lobbying group when relevant.

Leading Bond’s media and PR work (20%)

• Ensure regular coverage of Bond’s work and services in appropriate sector media to support delivery of Bond’s organisational strategy

• Update the news section of Bond’s website to capture current stories and issue affecting the humanitarian and development sector.
• Source thought leadership blogs for distribution through various Bond channels and external media, including news stories, blogs, features and social media items
• Source opportunities to share Bond’s media coverage via Bond’s different channels including social media and in relevant Bond working groups
• Manage the editorial calendar recording key global dates and events and making the wider team aware of editorial and media opportunities around these dates.

You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that enable organisations to grow in confidence and resilience. Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans. 

• Provide tailored support, including health checks on governance, compliance, finances, and funding readiness, offering recommendations and signposting to specialist services (e.g., Cranfield Trust, CVS, Charity Excellence etc). 

• Advise on funding opportunities, strategy, and application readiness, with referrals to bid-writing support where needed.
