Are you ready to make a tangible impact on public health? The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) is seeking an experienced Financial Controller on a part-time basis to manage the transition of the financial systems and processes. With 2,400 members, the IPS is dedicated to advancing infection prevention and control (IPC), playing a pivotal role in supporting IPC professionals, promoting best practices, and influencing policy to prevent infections.
The organisation is transitioning away from being a association-management / volunteer-led model to a small secretariat, hiring its first CEO and five other positions, including this most senior finance role. You will lead on the transition process covering all aspects of financial management, to ensure the Society’s financial integrity and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial transition to an in-house model.
- Creating and testing all internal processes.
- Oversee Statutory accounts, budgeting, credit control, financial reporting and compliance.
- Manage payroll and pension scheme implementation.
- Forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and support with audit.
- Investigate potential new income generation schemes with CEO.
Requirements:
- Accountancy qualification (CIMA, ICAEW, AAT, ACCA, etc.)
- Proven experience in a financial management role, ideally within a membership body, learned society, nfp/charity or public sector.
- Open to part-time role only.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Analytical and strategic mindset.
- Strong comms to train and support non-financial staff.

The Finance Officer is responsible for working within the core Wheels for All team to provide finance team support to the wider programme delivery and national staff team. By working with colleagues to maintain financial systems, accurate record keeping and undertake financial administration they will provide the support required to implement and improve the processes needed to maintain the accurate financial management systems which are crucial to supporting the charity’s mission. This role would suit someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a charity finance role, who has experience or knowledge of all the core accounts department processes and some understanding of different charity income streams. You might be studying for an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT or ACCA) or be qualified by experience. A training package may be available for an applicable accounting qualification.
Salary £25,000- £28,000 FTE, dependent on experience
Hours Full-time, 35 hours per week (1 FTE, will consider PT for the right candidate)

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Finance Manager to lead and manage our busy Finance Teams. You will have relevant finance and business experience, and you will directly manage the Accounts Payable and Income Collection teams, while contributing to process improvements within the Accounts Receivable (Billing) function.
You will be familiar with accounting software, preferably SAGE. You will be an effective communicator with excellent data management skills and numeracy, with particular proficiency in the use of Excel.
Ideally, you will have a relevant professional qualification (such as AAT or higher). Experience gained in a social care-related organisation or a large business/charity with multiple cost centres and varied income streams is desirable.
The role will involve:
· Leading and managing staff teams to achieve great results
· Inducting and coaching staff
· Planning, prioritising and co-ordinating workload
· Meeting month-end and year-end deadlines
· Developing and standardising efficient and effective processes
· Reviewing accounts and identifying invoicing and payment issues
· Producing reports and data for the Executive Team
· Investigation and resolution of complex accounts
This is a senior position within our busy, friendly Head Office Finance Department. A flexible and responsive approach is required, as you may need to assist with other priority tasks within our finance function and you will have the opportunity to deputise for senior colleagues. We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Finance Assistant.
The Finance Assistant supports all aspects of the Hallé’s work at the Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé Venues and concert halls across the UK.
The Finance Assistant works in a department currently comprising Finance Director, Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
The department is responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of the Society and its related trusts. The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Finance Manager.
They take responsibility for processing the day-to-day transactions of the company across purchase ledger, sales ledger and the cash book, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.
The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.
