ABOUT THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR
CDMT is the industry body for world-class professional schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations in the performing arts, and we are a strong advocate on behalf of the sector.
The Director of the CDMT plays a strategic role in performing arts training, education and assessment nationally and manages the staff and resources of an organisation of UK-wide standing. The CDMT is financed primarily by membership subscriptions. As this source of income is restricted, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strategic business sense and a successful income-driven record that will enable the CDMT to create, diversify and take full advantage of developing opportunities.
The Director must be able to liaise effectively with all sectors of the dance, drama, music and musical theatre education communities. They will have wide knowledge and experience of arts education at all stages of development from entry level, through Further/Higher Education to post-graduate level, and will also require an understanding of qualification frameworks in the UK. Knowledge and experience of inspection and self-assessment mechanisms similar to those operated by the Office for Students, Ofsted and Ofqual, is desirable.
The role includes advocacy on behalf of the sector and requires an ability to offer support and advice to professional schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations as well as informing the thinking of regulators, civil servants and parliamentarians. This demands a high level of tact, diplomacy, professional understanding and tenacity as well as intellectual rigour and integrity.

As Finance Director, you will work closely and collaboratively with Amit Sharma (Artistic Director/ CEO) and Iain Goosey (Executive Director), supporting them as they lead Kiln Theatre through a period of transition and growth. Donor & Sponsor Development
Identify, recruit, and cultivate high-net-worth individuals, sponsors and other funding partners. Build trusted relationships and lead on prospect research, cultivation plans, and solicitation strategies.
Trust & Foundations
Build and maintain strong relationships with trusts and foundations, ensuring well-researched and compelling funding proposals. Track funding deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring high-quality submissions and stewardship.
Revenue Generation & Innovation
Proactively explore and develop new income streams, sponsorship opportunities, and innovative fundraising models, ensuring alignment with the trust’s mission and strategy.
Events & Engagement
Plan and deliver a comprehensive programme of fundraising, cultivation, stewardship, and advocacy events to engage donors and stakeholders.
Communications & Advocacy
Act as a key advocate and ambassador for the trust, ensuring consistent messaging and brand alignment across fundraising communications, including oversight of the Annual Review.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
Oversee the fundraising database, manage financial reporting, track pledges, and ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards.

Norwich Theatre is one of the leading arts organisations in the UK and the largest in the East of England, encompassing the historic Theatre Royal, the creative hub Stage Two, and the intimate mid-scale Playhouse. About the capital project
The Playhouse Capital Development project is progressing through RIBA stage 3 with a design freeze now implemented. Work will continue to bring together a final stage 3 report which will give clear costings and timeframes for the project, before submitting a formal planning application at the end of October 2025. We anticipate that following this we will seek final approval to progress to RIBA stage 4 and commit to a start date for mid 2027 and a schedule of works that will see the project completed before 2029.
About this role
This part time (average 3 days per week) fixed term role has been created to work cross organisation and to work collaboratively with a new-look Development team to secure additional funding to realise this transformational capital project.
The person will play a pivotal role in our capital fundraising campaign, delivering the fundraising strategy behind this transformative initiative. Working closely with the Assistant Director, Development & Partnerships, senior leadership, trustees, the development team and funders, the postholder will manage the key milestones towards a successful a capital campaign that will transform the theatre’s facilities and secure its long-term future.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking to work with someone with proven fundraising experience, specifically in the charitable sector, and with the ability to secure funding from a wide variety of sources, and work collaboratively with a new Development team supporting shared targets
You should have experience of fundraising for capital projects and a strong understanding of the requirements of time sensitive capital projects for cultural or charitable purposes. You will have experience of planning and delivering major fundraising events for capital targets e.g. gala dinners and auctions.

The Marketing & Communications team is crucial to the success of the Almeida’s ambitious vision and the strategic priorities for the team include:
- Build and manage the brand of the Almeida Theatre across London, the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
CRM:
- Lead on management of Almeida’s central CRM database, Tessitura, and act as principal point of contact with Tessitura for all system maintenance, development, and upgrades.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Development teams to maximise the use of our CRM systems and ensure they are fit for purpose and align with the goals of the organisation.
- Ensure the CRM provides an effective sales funnel and is an efficient sales process.
- Work with the Box Office Manager to set up on-sales for new productions and events.
- Update the information and content in TNEW (online booking system), working Box Office Manager to ensure a smooth sales path.
- Work with the Development team to enhance our insight into current and prospective supporters. In particular, working to support Membership recruitment and retention, to encourage donations.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to produce audience segmentation strategies.
- Help troubleshoot queries or issues, related to Tessitura filtering those that cannot be resolved internally through to the Tessitura support.
- Provide support to all of the key departments within the Almeida which generate and use data, including set up of users, and provide training as required.
- Be a key part of the Almeida’s GDPR team ensuring all our data collection and processing complies with all current and future data protection legislation.
Sales, Insights and Data:
- Compile and deliver sales reports and analysis to relevant departments across the organisation, including senior and executive leadership, tailoring reports to suit a range of requirements.
- Monitor ticket inventory and introduce strategies for managing ticket holds.
- Provide up-to-date data analysis and reporting on marketing activities to help improve the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Use sales data analysis to advise the Director of Marketing and Communications on ticket pricing strategies.
- Manage our digital audience survey (Survey Monkey) and Arts Council data collection platform (Illuminate), collating and reporting on the results and evaluation of campaigns and audiences.
- Help guide the Almeida’s audience development strategy through customer research and data analysis relating to existing and new audiences.
- Support other departments with data collection and analysis.
Other duties:
- Be jointly responsible for the accuracy of all marketing communications, maintaining the theatre brand at all times, and advocating for this across the organisation.
- Support the Marketing Manager with digital advertising.
- Help to develop and deliver marketing strategies to increase income from auxiliary sales such as merchandise and Almeida Café & Bar.
Person Specification

We are seeking a creative and proactive Communications and Marketing Coordinator to play a pivotal role in telling Theatres Trust’s story, and the stories of the theatres we support, to a wider audience.
Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing, you will support the development and delivery of Theatres Trust’s communications strategy and contribute to embedding our brand and tone of voice across all our communications. A central part of the role will be working with our sector specialists to turn complex, detailed and technical information into compelling case studies to promote our services and highlight our impact to key stakeholders across the theatre sector and beyond.
You will be responsible for producing two of Theatres Trust’s key communications products: Theatres Magazine, our digital publication for supporters, and NewsDigest, our monthly e-newsletter, as well as helping to develop our social and digital channels. There will also be the opportunity for you to take the lead on the full communications lifecycle of specific projects such as grant programmes and events.
For someone with a passion for the power of words and a strong eye for design, this is an interesting and varied role, offering the scope to develop and enhance your skills across the full range of communications and marketing disciplines. Our client produces and presents world-class theatre for many thousands of audience members each year, along with enriching creative learning opportunities for all ages and communities. As they launch their vision and strategy for the next five years, the theatre looks to hire a new Operations Director to lead day to day operations, as well as working on an exciting capital project.
The Operations Director is responsible for effective day-to-day operations of the organisation’s buildings and systems and for supporting team members through strong HR. They will lead on health & safety, HR, facilities, contracts, and capital projects, ensuring the theatre remains safe, accessible, and welcoming for all. As a member of the Senior Management Team, they will also play a vital role in shaping long-term organisational strategy, with particular emphasis on environmental sustainability, equality, diversity & inclusion (EDI), heritage conservation, access, and workforce professional development.
The selected candidate will have proven senior management experience in operations with some exposure to buildings/facilities management and HR. You will bring a strong understanding of health & safety practice and risk management, as well as strong leadership and team management skills. You will be an excellent problem solving with strong communications skills, and bring a passion to drive efficiency and new ways of working. You will also demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion.

Our client in Cirencester is an award-winning producing house charity renowned through the UK for its unique and innovative approach to theatrical excellent and problem-solving. They deliver the life-changing magic of live performance and will now hire a new Head of Development and Fundraising.
The Head of Development and Fundraising will drive their mission forward with creativity, energy and passion. The postholder will principally cultivate relationships and secure funding with major donors – both existing and new to the organisation – exciting and delighting those philanthropists to give significant gifts at the five-figure level and above. The role attracts a position on the committed management team while also managing a small team responsible for donors, sponsors, friends and partners to the organisation.
The selected candidate will have a proven track record of accomplishment in fundraising and will be able to demonstrate strategic thinking ideally within an arts fundraising setting. The fundraising experience and knowledge will be key too, with the postholder able to demonstrate a track record of telling compelling stories to captivate donors for revenue and capital fundraising asks. Birmingham Hippodrome is incredibly proud to be one of the West Midlands’ largest cultural organisations, and one of the busiest theatres in the UK. As well as welcoming over 600,000 people to shows, the Hippodrome engages with more than 325,000 people through a vast programme of education and young people’s projects, festivals, events, produced work and artist development programmes. The Hippodrome is an independent charity, attracting support from trusts, foundations and project partners, but is not an Arts Council England NPO and doesn’t receive any regular public funding.
The Director of Creative Programmes is the critical role in ensuring that the charity can continue to deliver for the communities and creatives of Birmingham and the West Midlands. It will work with colleagues and external partners to deliver the Hippodrome’s mission by building a sustainable strategy to have an even greater impact on our region. The role will also play an important role on the Hippodrome’s team of Directors to ensure that there is a creative voice in all parts of the organisation’s decision-making.
The post focuses on three key areas: young people and education, access, artist development and site-specific/festival work. This work is central to the Hippodrome’s vision of ‘a distinctive, world-class Birmingham cultural scene with the Hippodrome at its heart’. The post-holder will be expected to work with their team to ensure these areas keep evolving to respond to changes within the cultural landscape. As well as motivating and developing Creative Programmes team, the role is responsible for building and maintaining external relationships with the creative community of the region. They will also hold relationships with building partners, including the world-class dance ecology with whom we share facilities.

- Experience commissioning or producing work and programmes in collaboration with communities (co-creation), with strong stakeholder consultation and participation.
- Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships—national, regional, local; plus partnerships with artists, cultural institutions, community organisations.
