About the Role

Are you someone who is passionate about seeing positive change in our world? Can you bring knowledge and creativity in designing innovative and effective peacebuilding programmes?

We are looking for someone to support our programmes and institutional fundraising with excellent writing skills, who is passionate about addressing the root causes of and inequalities caused by conflict. You will be someone passionate about the work Cord does and who can bring technical institutional funding expertise alongside peacebuilding knowledge to our small and committed team.

In this role you will lead the development of new programmes and institutional funding bids in line with Cord’s peacebuilding approach and 5 main programme areas. You will manage proposal submissions to Cord's key donors such as the EU, US State Department, GIZ, SDC, UN Peacebuilding Fund etc. You will be working closely with country teams to design and write proposals based on strong project designs developed in partnership with our local partners.

The role will also operate at a strategic level by managing Cord’s relationships with key donors and shaping how Cord communicates about its programmes and the added-value that Cord brings.

About The Role 

As a Community Builder, you will be at the heart of our Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, supporting the charity’s objective to enhance reach with a focus on enabling a positive impact for members of the armed forces community facing challenges. You will do this by creating sustainable, community-led solutions that enhance their well-being. You will identify strengths within local communities, foster meaningful connections, and utilise this to create new networks and drive positive change.

Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, you will create opportunities for members of the Armed Forces community (AFC) and their families to connect with Help for Heroes and their local community. 

About You 

You will have experience of working alongside communities to create the conditions for community-led change, ideally with experience of Asset-Based Community Development. You will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships, and inspire collaboration which will be essential in creating positive, lasting change. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct outreach to celebrate community strengths and foster engagement. 

• Develop and embed an ABCD-informed way of working. 

• Identify ‘Connectors’ across the community and provide opportunities for them to come together regularly to exchange learning and map community assets. Facilitate gatherings that empower community members to share their strengths, co-create initiatives, and foster a sense of belonging and ownership. 

• Encourage and support community-led action in response to local AFC interests / aspirations through peer led/ co – designed initiatives. 

• Increase awareness of challenges faced by military personnel, veterans, and their families. 

We are looking for someone with: 

• A Community Development qualification and/or experience of taking an asset-based approach to community development with transferable skills. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships that drive action. 

• A track record of successful collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders. 

PLEASE NOTE: 

• The successful candidate will need to be based within a 30-minute commute of the centre of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel regularly within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). There will The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes. 

• There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings and events depending on the charity’s needs such as our annual all colleagues in person event.

• The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. Core working days will be Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential, as regular evening and weekend work will also be required to meet the needs of the role. You will be part of a newly formed Community Development team, dedicated to embedding Asset-Based Community Development. We will amplify the strengths already present in communities, forging lasting partnerships and initiatives that empower the Armed Forces community to thrive. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. This is an exciting opportunity to invest in the lives of autistic young people (aged 9-19). You will work in our Aspire Team to further develop specialist youth work provision in Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire, supporting young people’s emotional well-being and helping them to overcome challenge and develop social skills. You will join our team of youth workers and volunteers to develop and deliver weekly social groups, shared interest groups, one-to-one work, family support, school-based alternative education, and trips and residential experiences. Duties include:

• Build positive relationships with autistic children and young people through different programme activities.

• Work with others in the team to expand the provision and develop new youth clubs in specific geographical areas based on identified needs.

Income from trusts, foundations and statutory sources is an important income stream at LTSB, and you will work closely with the Fundraising Manager to develop and execute a strategy in order to grow and retain some of our existing funders, as well as bring new ones on board through effective research and prospecting.

This role would suit someone who has some experience of trust fundraising but is looking for the next step, therefore you must have experience of grant writing (five figure bids). You will have competent writing skills and experience of building and maintaining strong relationships and searching for new ones, whether online or in person. You will be enthusiastic, driven and creative with a can-do attitude. This role will have periods of high intensity. Being able to manage the highs and lows of trust and foundations fundraising is key.

As we all work remotely, you will also need to be a self-starter and be able to work independently. We would expect a thorough understanding and commitment to LTSB’s vision, mission, and work.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Bite Back, and support the delivery of our local, national and international campaigns. As Campaigns Executive, you will play a key role in building Bite Back’s Shape Our Streets programme, working with Local Authorities and young people locally to advocate for healthier food environments. You will support the coordination of Bite Back’s national campaigns to put youth voice front and centre, calling for a #CommercialBreak from junk food advertising, high streets that aren’t flooded with unhealthy products, and school food that supports young people to thrive. You will support the coordination of Bite Back’s youth model internationally to raise awareness of the global issue and build campaigns within different country contexts.

You’ll be creating change and protecting every young person’s right to a healthy childhood.

The Campaigns Executive will report to the Senior Campaigns Manager and will work closely with colleagues across Bite Back, in particular with our Programmes and Digital Communications teams.

Responsibilities

The Campaigns Executive responsibilities include:

● Providing day-to-day coordination and administrative support across national, local and international campaign workstreams.

● Helping to plan and deliver campaign events, such as in-person and online workshops: booking venues/managing online platforms, organising travel and materials, briefing staff and providing on-the-day support, occasionally outside standard working hours.

● Undertaking desk research, evidence-gathering and basic data analysis to inform our campaign activities, turning findings into briefings and/or presentations for internal teams.

● Contributing to brainstorms and ideation sessions with teams across Bite Back.

● Working with Campaigns and Communication colleagues to draft copy for supporter emails, social posts, web pages and briefing notes.

● Managing stakeholder lists (e.g. local council contacts, global partners) and occasionally joining meetings with external stakeholders.

● Providing ongoing support to UNICEF country offices throughout collaboration projects, building strong working relationships with country, regional, and HQ colleagues.

● Coordinating mentor sessions, for young people in several partnering countries on topics including research, policy and stakeholder engagement, community mobilisation, and media.

● Taking on additional tasks delegated by the Senior Campaigns Manager, contributing ideas and pitching in wherever needed during busy campaign moments.

Stonewall Housing is looking for a highly capable, grounded, and values-driven Senior Practitioner to join our Supported Housing team at a pivotal time of growth. This new leadership role will oversee the operational delivery of our LGBTQ+ supported accommodation services in Brighton and Eastbourne, helping residents to live safer, more independent lives.

This is a high-impact role that requires a resilient, proactive professional who thrives in complex environments. • To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
• To assist the IntoUniversity Centre Leader in liaising with schools and other partner bodies, in organising the classroom and resources and in planning project delivery.
